RV Sealant - Non-Sag vs Self-Leveling
The kind of sealant you apply to your RV is important. To determine the type of sealant you need for your application, you will want to consider what it is you are sealing and where it is on your RV.
Self-leveling sealant is designed to level out as you apply it. The thick liquid slowly flows into a level position as gravity takes effect. This is particularly useful when sealing flat surfaces, like around a roof vent, AC, or skylight. As you apply the sealant, gravity will cause it to settle into an even line, giving you a clean, low-profile look.
Non-sag sealant is designed to retain its shape as you apply it. The consistency of the liquid is thick but malleable enough to be easily applied without causing sagging or slumping. This is useful when sealing vertical surfaces, such as the edges of a wall, window, or vent. As you apply the sealant, it will harden just enough to keep the liquid from drooping, giving you a clean, even look.

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we are going to take a quick look at the Alpha Systems non-sag MS polymer sealant. This is a non-sag sealant, so it is going to retain its shape. It is going to be great for your vertical or inclined applications. Unlike your self leveling sealant, which kind of dissolves or levels itself out, this is going to hold its shape really well.
So it's going to be great for putting around your doorframe or window frame, or if you are putting in a new outlet cover or something like that on the outside of your camper, it will do a good job with that as well. So it is going to hold its shape really well. This is an MS polymer material, so it is modified silicone. It is going to be very sturdy, going to hold up really well. It has got a tensile strength of 225 pounds per square inch.
So it is going to do a good job for you. Now, the one that I have here is the white color. It also comes in four other colors, almond, beige, gray, and black. Now black and white are pretty self-evident, but I want to show you some of the other color options as well. So you can see the difference between our almond and our beige specifically. So our almond is a little bit more yellow.
It's got a kind of a light tan color to it. Our beige is kind of that mix between the gray and the almond. And then our gray is very de-saturated. So depending on the color scheme that you are trying to match, want to make sure that you're getting the right color. And again, we do have all five options available here at etrailer.com.All these options, no matter what color you are getting, they are going to be 9.8 ounces.
So it's going to be plenty of material, depending on your application. If you are trying to do a whole roof, you'll probably need more than one to get all your vents and all that. But if you are just doing like one doorframe or something like that, I think one will do well for you. This will fit into your standard caulk gun. They do include a nozzle that just screws onto the top there. You can also use a trowel or a stiff brush to apply it, but whatever the application, I think this is going to do a good job for you. It is made here in the USA. So you can trust that it is made to the high quality standards that we have come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US. So if you're looking for a non-sag sealant, I think this is going to be a great option for you. That is going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

Seal the window edges, door frames, and other vertical surfaces of your RV with this non-sag sealant. Strong, flexible formula works with wood, metal, and glass, holds its shape on uneven and slanted surfaces, and is great for indoor and outdoor use.Surface mount OEM marker lights had caulking around them, so I used this for the same purpose on our Lakota 2 horse gooseneck.
I ordered 4 tubes of this. They shipped 3 and before I received them I was contacted by etrailer was told they could not get a 4th tube. The manufacturer doesn’t make it anymore. Then they suggested an alternative sealant to go with the ones that were already shipped . I questioned if it was compatible with the alphathane and she looked it up for me and it was not compatible. I had already been billed for 4 tubes. Etrailer ended up reimbursing me and I will go with another company to get my sealant. I have never had a problem with any other etrailer order I have ever made. I was emailed or phoned by 4 different people about this order.
I’ve used at least half a dozen other products, and this one is my favorite
