A stiff or binding suspension makes towing rough and unpredictable. This 2-9/16" long shackle strap connects the double-eye leaf spring to the rear hanger or equalizer so the suspension can pivot freely. That movement keeps the load balanced between axles and helps the trailer ride smoother over bumps and uneven roads.
When each axle shares the work evenly, the trailer tracks better and feels more controlled. By linking the spring to the hanger through a pivot point instead of a fixed mount, this shackle strap lets the suspension flex naturally so weight shifts are reduced and pressure stays balanced.
Getting the geometry right matters for suspension parts. This strap measures 3-7/8" long overall and 1-1/4" wide, with 9/16" diameter bolt holes spaced 2-9/16" apart center-to-center. Those dimensions make it easy to line up with standard double-eye spring hardware for a solid, no-slop fit.
Nothing fancy—just a strong, straightforward link that does its job. The solid steel build keeps the spring and hanger securely joined while allowing enough flex for proper suspension travel. It’s a dependable piece that helps keep the trailer riding steady mile after mile.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Shackle Strap. This Shackle Strap connects your double eyes spring to a rear hangar on single axle trailers or to an equalizer on multi-axle trailers. The connection allows movement to take place, ensuring an evenly distributed load between the axles. When it comes to the measurements of the shackle strap, the length measurement is actually taken from the center of one hole to the center of the other. So if we place a ruler on there and we measure the separation of the hole center on center, you can see that it measures 2 9/16". Overall length, edge to edge is 3 7/8.
Overall measurement going this side or this way, edge to edge is 1 1/4". The bolt hole diameter is 9/16" and it's made from a durable steel construction. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Shackle Strap.

I have not used the mdse.i got yet but it looks like everything is correct and appears to be good quality. I will say the service was excellent. Exactly what i need for new suspension upgrade.
Slightly longer than original but with upgrade from 1000 # rated springs to 1500 # rated springs they installed, load tested, swing worked well unloaded and loaded.
I'm satisfied with these new shackle straps. Made these old leaf spring packs new again. Added new bushings to the shackle attachment point and got rid of all the slop.
