Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at the CE Smith zinc plated steel U-bolt. This heavy-duty, multipurpose U-bolt is intended for use on trailers to help secure brackets, mounts, and cargo to your trailer's frame. This is made in the USA of sturdy, zinc plated, grade five steel, making it resistant to corrosion. It includes everything that you see here before me.
You're gonna get one U-bolt, two washers, and two nylon lock nuts. And let me go ahead and pull out my ruler here and just give you some measurements. Measuring the inside of the U-bolt, the length is gonna be sitting right at four inches long. And the inside width, we are looking at, looks like 2 1/8 inches on that inside width. And the diameter's gonna be 7/16 of an inch.
The threaded section is right at two inches long. And this has 14 threads per inch. Well, that's gonna conclude our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy.

They're not just a box of plated U bolts, nylock nuts, and washers. They're a tight package of fine hardware individually packaged in hard plastic to protect the threads and finish. A box of a dozen didn't even rattle. I have no doubt that they will lock my boat trailer bunk board supports in place vey solidly and reliably.
This is not necessarily a review about the product (it is a large U bolt - nothing crazy here), but more of a review about etrailer. I have ordered from them for about 5 years. I love their customer focus. They are super informed and helpful when it comes to selecting compatible parts. And that is worth a lot. Also, they ask for a review 1 year after a purchase. IMO, that is the right amount of time to see if a product lived up to use/abuse.
Sometimes when refurbishing a boat trailer it's difficult to find the correct sized u-bolts. I ordered 7/16 but I think I needed 1/4. I don't remember seeing 1/4 on the website. Anyway the bolts were delivered in a very reasonable amount of time and appear to be a very well made product. I just had to drill out the holes a little bit on my side bunk supports but that's my own fault. Now my trailer is pretty much back to new and I'm ready to go catch a flounder or two. Thanks etrailer for helping me get everything ready to go.
