Smaller trailers, fenders, and utility builds don't leave much room for oversized marker lights. This compact oblong housing measures only 2-1/2" wide and mounts directly to your trailer surface, giving you clearance or side marker visibility without taking up extra space along the frame.
Running separate ground wires can slow down light replacement jobs, especially on older trailers with limited wiring access. This light grounds through the mounting hardware, so you only need the single hardwired power lead connected before securing it with two #10 screws (sold separately).

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Optronics mini red LED clearance or side marker light. Now this is a compact red LED marker clearance light that's designed to improve trailer visibility without taking up too much space. And because it's small and surface mounted, it's gonna be a good option when you need visible safety light, but you're also don't have a whole lot of room on your trailer frame or body. So as you can see, I do have this connected. I'm trying to keep my alligator clips in check here.
I'm gonna go ahead and just shut my studio lights off here real quick, so you have a good idea of just how bright this is. Going back out to my wide view, you can kind of see from a distance what this looks like. Back to my closeup view, you can see that this has got two diodes in it, so two LEDs here, and this is going to draw very little power, so on your 12 volt system. So as you know, LEDs are very efficient, especially when compared to incandescent bulbs. So it's gonna take minimal demand on your trailer's electrical system.
Installation's gonna be pretty straightforward thanks to the one wire design. So let me go ahead and unhook this for my power supply and show this to you here. So this is gonna be a one wire self grounding design. So instead of running a separate ground wire, the light's gonna ground through the mounting hardware, which can help simplify wiring and reduce insulation time. So this light is built for trailer use.
This is a sealed polycarbonate housing and lens. It's gonna help protect the LEDs from water, road spray, dirt and other debris encountered while towing. For mounting, this is going to install on the surface of your trailer using two number 10 screws. Those screws are sold separately. You're getting exactly what you see here.
So no mounting hardware with this. Let me find my ruler here. Give the measurements of those mounting holes on center. So as I hope you can see we're 1-7/8" on center. So this is gonna be a convenient replacement for any existing marker lights with similar mounting patterns. Functionally, this is a red P2 and P3 rated light that can, that can be used as either a clearance light or a side marker light, giving you flexibility depending on your trailer's lighting needs. Let me leave you with some overall dimensions. At the width, we're looking at 2-1/2" at what I'm calling the height. The tallest point here about 1-1/16". And the depth, about 11/16 inches deep.
