The amber lens includes a built-in reflex reflector, so even when the bulb isn’t lit, it still bounces light back to keep your trailer noticeable at night or in low light. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light with a Built-in Reflector. This is a round incandescent trailer light that serves as either a side marker light or a clearance light. It's going to feature a sonically sealed design, so when it comes to the housing, we're looking at a waterproof unit. It is submersible. It's going to feature the nice amber lens with the reflex reflector built in. That's made from a polycarbonite material.
When it comes to the lens and the housing, nice strong durable design. It is a recessed mount installation with a built in mounting flange. Your hardware is not included. It is going to require three screws to get the unit installed. It does come with a foam gasket to create a nice weather tight connection point, or a weather tight seal at the mounting location. When it comes to hooking up your wiring to it, it's going to accept an industry standard two prong plug.

This is a P2 rated light that's SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. If you take the measurement of the actual diameter of the light, that's the center area here, that's going to give us a measurement of around two inches. Overall diameter from edge to edge is going to measure around three inches. Then it's going to have a depth, or a thickness, of about 3/4 of an inch from this point here to the top of the light.
The mount holes on the unit, those are separated on center by 2 1/4 inches. When it comes to the power draw at 12.8 volts, it's going to be 0.2 amps. We're going to go and hook it up to our external power source. That way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead light so you can see it in a low light setting. The two prong plug simply lines up with the connection points and pushes together.
Creates a nice tight seal. You can see here that the light send out a really nice consistent signal. It's going to contain one incandescent bulb. This just gives you a good look at right here at the center it has a clear space, so the reflector does not cover the center. That allows plenty of light to come through and then everywhere else on the lens itself, it's going to have that built in reflex reflector. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light with the Built-in Reflector.

We have a 2007 34' Fleetwood Expedition Diesel Motorhome. We were in need of two replacement lenses and bulbs, as the two modules on the rear of each side of the motorhome were weathered and cracked.
