Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at this Dexter 12 and a quarter inch Hub and Rotor Assembly with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern, a nine and 16ths inch diameter wheel studs for a 7,000 pound axle. Now when you're hauling serious weight, you need braking parts that are gonna hold up under pressure. This Dexter 12 and a quarter inch diameter hub and rotor assembly is built for 7,000 pound axles. So it gives you the strength and reliability needed for heavy duty towing.
It is a cast iron construction, provides solid durability, while precision machining minimize any runout warping for a lot smoother stops every time. This will include everything shown here on the table. It includes the hub and rotor assembly. Now the bearing races are already pre-installed. You can see the bearing race for the outer bearing is pre-installed.
We flip it around on the back, you can see the bearing race for the inner bearing is pre-installed. So all you have to worry about is installing the pieces. The inner bearing is included, goes right in there on the bearing race. Also comes with the grease seal. This will go once you get your bearing in there.
Then you put your grease seal into place, tap it in there. Also comes with the outer bearing, which is this one right here, it goes in place. And same way, once it's installed, then it comes with the grease gap that you tap in place to cover it up. And it also includes eight of the nine and 16ths by 18 size lug nuts for installing your wheel assembly to this. Now the part numbers for these parts are all listed on the product page.
Now braking is gonna generate a lot of heat, especially when you're loaded down or driving on long grades. This is a vented rotor right here. This design in the hub assembly will regulate temperature, prevents overheating, heat related damage. Means a lot cooler operation, longer pad life, and consistent braking performance, mile after mile. Moisture and road grime can quickly corrode bare metal parts. This one, if you look, has a nice e-coat finish all over the whole part. This will provide a nice protective barrier against corrosion and wear. Keeps the service smooth and strong through all kinds of weather. It is a nice durable coating that'll help extend service life, keeps the braking surface in top shape longer. Few specs on this, the axle capacity, again, this fits is 7,000 pound axles. The wheel size that you can use on this is from 16 inch diameter, all the way up to 17 inch diameter. Bolt pattern, again, eight on six and a half inch. Wheel bolt diameter, nine and 16ths of an inch. And the total rotor diameter outside to outside, 12 and a quarter inches. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Dexter 12 and a quarter inch Hub and Rotor Assembly with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern and the nine 16ths inch wheel studs.
The product itself is of good quality, however in shipping the bearings and seal were all damaged with the rotor having the weight it does I don’t know how to keep them from getting damaged in shipping other than box them or wrap them very well. It was not a big deal for me because I use a specific brand of bearings and seals but it may have delayed someone expecting to use them.
Etrailer went above and beyond to get these to me in time.
The part worked great so glad it was in stock, etrailer customer service is second to non, fast and very helpful. I recommend etrailer.
