Today we're going to review part #yr4163-4p. This is the Yates spool roller for boat trailers. This roller is constructed of a heavy duty rubber material. It is made in the USA. This roller will replace the worn out spool roller on your boat trailer. This roller will help in the loading and unloading of the boat and it does support the keel of the boat as it sits on the trailer.
This material will also help absorb the road shock while the boat is being towed. Now we'll do a few measurements on the roller. The length of the roller is 4 inches and the diameter is 3 inches. This roller is designed to fit on a 4 inch wide bracket that uses a half inch diameter shank. And that should do it for part #yr4163-4p.

I used the roller assemblies for a non-typical project. I am making a cabinet to store large slabs of wood and needed something that would hold the weight and still roll easily. The rollers I bought work just as I had hoped (the galvanized brackets were overkill for my project, but necessary for their intended use on a boat trailer. Great products and great service from etrailer.com.

Spool rollers fit perfectly with shafts and end caps. I sanded and painted the mounting hardware for re-use. etrailer had what I needed, fair price and quick to ship.

Though I haven't had a chance to install this roller on the boat trailer yet, it certainly seems more durable with a deeper recess than the one previously installed. The most important factor though was the customer service rep who took to time to understand the issue with the keel in order to recommend a good solution.

What a terrific product. Smooth rolling on appropriate hardware. Definitely, sturdier than the original. The interior has a rigid plastic, instead of metal that corroded in the original roller. Very satisfied.

- Dimensions for the Yates Spool Roller for Boat Trailers YR4163-4P and YR4163-5Hey Michael! I went out to the warehouse and took measurements of the Yates Spool Roller for Boat Trailers item # YR4163-4P and item # YR4163-5. They're the same size. The only difference between the two is the diameter of the shaft. Item # YR4163-4P is designed for a 1/2" shaft and item # YR4163-5 fits a 5/8" shaft. I have attached a diagram below to show you the dimensions.

The 4-1/2" long measurement that you provided is not common and we would not have anything that matches this dimension exactly. You mentioned that you have a shaft already but if you determine you need a new one use # CE10700A which also comes with new pal nuts. If you determine you also need mounting brackets you can use # CE10211G or # CE10300G.
