Features to know about

Getting Through Snowy Roads with Confidence: Twist Links Bite into Snow and Light Ice

When the snow piles up or you hit an icy patch, these low-profile tire chains give you dependable traction to keep moving forward. The rounded twist links grip snow well and still provide some traction on light ice, so you get steady performance when the weather turns. The ladder pattern keeps your tires digging in as you drive, helping you stay in control on steep or slick stretches.

Keeping the Ride Smooth and Comfortable: Low-Profile, Rounded Links Reduce Vibration

These chains are built for drivers who need traction without the harsh ride. The small, rounded 4.5 mm (0.177") links make for a smoother drive than thick, square links, so you don’t feel every bump on the road. They’re a solid step up from basic cable chains—durable enough for repeated use but still compact for vehicles with limited clearance.

Designed for Tight Wheel Wells: Class S Compatible for Limited Clearance

If your car doesn’t have much space around the tire, these chains fit the bill. They meet SAE Class S standards, which means they’re made for vehicles with restricted wheel-well clearance. The design ensures there’s enough room for safe operation even when space is tight, giving you the confidence to use them on modern cars and smaller vehicles.

No Cams to Loosen on the Road: Manual Tensioning Stays Secure

You won’t have to worry about cams coming undone when you’re backing up or hitting rough sections. These chains use a straightforward manual tensioning system that stays put once tightened. For an even snugger fit, you can pair them with rubber adjusters (sold separately). Simple, reliable, and easy to secure before you set out.

Built to Last Season After Season: Low-Carbon Steel Construction Holds Up

The chains are made from low-carbon steel for strength and durability, so they can handle repeated trips through snow and slush. They come in a reusable storage case that keeps everything neat when not in use. If you only need a dependable “just-in-case” option for winter drives, these give you the durability and performance you need without overcomplicating the setup.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Video Transcript for How to Install: Titan Chain Low Profile Tire Chains on your 2007 Toyota Prius

Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius we'll be taking a look at the Titan Chains snow tire chain, with a ladder pattern. Part number TC1126. As you can see here to connect the cross chains here to our side chains there are the metal keepers, and on the backside they are flat. The flat side is the side you want on your tire and on the side wall so it doesn't damage your tire. On one side you have open chains on the front and back, and on the other end, on the backside you have a hook and on the front side you have a fastener that goes with the chains to tension your chains up and make them nice and tight around your tire. Here's what our new Titan chains look like installed on our Prius. As you can see, nice and secure fit on both sides.

The cross chains here have a twist in the link, and that's actually going to dig into the snow and ice and give you excellent traction in inclement weather. These are a class S, so they're great for vehicles that have limited wheel well clearance, such as this Prius. If you'd like you can add a rubber adjuster here to give you even more tension. This kit does come with 2 tire chains that could be put on the rear or front of your vehicle depending on if you have front wheel or rear wheel drive, and have a 30 day limited warranty. Now we'll go ahead and show you how to install the tire chain on your Prius. Now with our chain laid out we can go ahead and drape it over our tire.

Now you want to go ahead and make sure that your tire chain is even on the side wall of the tire on the front and rear of the tire. That will just make it a lot easier to hook up and it will make your tire chain even on your tire. Now that we have our chain draped around our tire and even on the side walls on the front and back we can go ahead and go to the back side, we can take our open links here, we can connect them to the hook on this side. Now depending on your vehicle, you'll go to different lengths. On this one we're going to go ahead and go to the second link here on the rear. Now if you do have excess links here you can go ahead and zip tie them up so they don't swing around and damage your car or if you have it set for one particular car you can go ahead and cut those links off and it's set for this and you don't have to mess with any extra links coming around swinging when your wheel is rotating.

Now we'll come to the front side of our tire, take our open chains here and our tensioner, feed our cable onto it . if you have extra links here feed them all onto it. This one we're going to go to . I'd go to the first link here. And then this will turn over and hook into your chain.

Just like that, our tire chains are installed and we're ready to hit the road. That will do it for our look at the Titan Chains snow tire chains. Part number TC1126 on our 2007 Toyota Prius. .

Perfect and affordable.

by:

Chains were easy to put on and with the rubber tensioners these chains are snug. Haven't used these on the road but my driveway was covered with snow and ice and it handled it great

by:

The chains were great, however the blue tensioners broke at the worst time and I didn't even use them for more than 10 minutes before the tensioner broke.

by:

Can't really talk about the actual performance of the chain in action since it is 100 degrees outside right now. Bought these to prepare for next winter. I have recently changed cars and tire sizes from my old chain set. However, I can talk about the process. Ordering was easy and shipping was swift. I assume these chains will be perfect. You may assume the same if I don't come back in Jan 2019 and say differently. The pricing was the very lowest and half price of everyone else. Even if I had to use these as parts for other chains it was worth the price for parts alone. Get one before they figure out the price is too low.

by:

Chains fit very well. Seems that the metal is very soft when trimming off the extra links with a hacksaw it only took a few seconds.

by:

Bought for my 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. It is now unstoppable. My Vermont private road is too steep to be classified as a town road, and it went up through 6 inches of snow with icy spots without ever flinching.

by:

Wow, I have never ever been contacted about a product this long after purchasing! That to me is the best email I've had in years. Thank you very kindly.

I am still out in Colorado. Toughest year of my life hands down. Fortunately I only had to use the chains once last March and they worked great! Just a little more effort to get them on correctly but that is to be expected. And if you drive I-70 and get into a situation without proper tires or chains you get a big fine. No snowboarding for me this year though so no worries!

Thank you again for your email. I will always recommend you guys when I can help others find the equipment they need! Have a good afternoon!

Needed some help getting up my son‘s driveway.
These
were very easy to put on one at a time and will be very helpful.
I did drive a short distance on the the road, which was very bumpy and could only go about 10 miles an hour.
I took a spin out in the backyard which had about a foot of snow on it without a problem.
Very happy with the purchase for 2016 Dodge grand Caravan

Well-made chains with quality finish. Have not used in snow yet so effectiveness and durability are unknown.

by:

JUST WHAT I WANTED. Good quality, light duty, low profile, ladder pattern tire chains. Perfect fit, 225/60 R17, on my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, although this was my second Go-a-Round on ordering. Titan Chain lists TC1138 as the size for this tire and my car. NOT SO! The TC1142 is the one that fits ... perfectly! But Titan says that's for a 225/65 R17 size. THEY ARE WRONG! The TC1138 is 4" too short, and that's a HUGE discrepancy for tire chains. etrailer was absolutely no help with getting the right fit as they only go by listed sizes and don't know any product details (and don't want to know), only selling chains. They tried to steer me towards a Konig Chain with a diamond pattern at almost 5x the cost and far more complicated to install. I found the right chain size on their website in about 5 min. and ordered 2x pairs.

by:

The tire chains arrived on time and were as described. They came in a small plastic box for storage which should be handy. Fortunately, we haven't experienced any snow yet so I don't know how well the chains will perform. I will try to remember to update this review after fully using the chains.

by:

by:

Great job, the chains arrived before my daughter had to leave back to Idaho. The chain haven’t been used yet but the will in Idaho.

by:

fast shipping great chains

by:

Bought for 2015 Honda Fit which I often take places it wasn't meant to go. Shipped and arrived very fast. As advertised. Neatly packed in plastic box easy to store in car. Instructions in box for those of us who don't regularly use chains. Happy with company and product.

by:

Arrive just in time for a snow filled weekend.. looks great and should work out well on my small car (nissan versa). They are thin and lightweight so may not last forever, but that is what you get when you have a small car.

I will update after I actually use them.

by:

product was gonna ship late and they called us personally to let us know and to see if there was anything they could do. It was very nice and thoughtful of them to do that. We really appreciated the customer service. The product actually arrived 2 weeks early. we would definitely use this company again.

by:

I used the chain once last year since there were lots of snow at Big Bear Mountain at that time and chain was required first time. Unfortunately the chain was cut off on the way downhill, so we needed to stop immediately at the side road. I thought this chain is the best, yet it was not strong enough I guess... I don’t know why I received an email to review this product a year later. Anyway, I cannot use the chain anymore. I only used once, so this product was bit price for me.

by:

My tire chains arrived on time, in good condition. I was able to use them a few days later. I already had the bungie cord tensioners and the directions were fine for me. They worked well. I only wish the shipping was cheaper, but I guess it was a heavy package and i did pick a faster service because I needed them soon.

  • Can Same Chains be Used on 265/60R18 and 245/60R18 Size Tires
It sounds like you are asking if a set of tire chains for a 265/60R18 size tire will also fit a 245/60R18 size tire. Looking through the available chains for each of these tire sizes, it does not look like the same set of chains will be able to fit both tires. The size difference between the two is just enough to require a smaller assembly for your 245/60R18 tires Just for reference a 245/60R18 tire will be about an inch smaller both in diameter and width than a 265/60R18 size tire.
