When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This rear brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty pads with rotors that manage heat and deliver strong initial bite, so repeated stops stay smooth and predictable.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
New brake components require a break-in period before they deliver their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your rotors stay looking better between services without affecting braking performance.
Replacing brake rotors is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren Rear Wheel BES Brake Upgrade Kit. Now, this kit has been designed to fit your 2015 to 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with the dual rear wheels. And on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, upgrading your suspension on your truck can improve the ride quality, can help reduce the sagging when you're hauling heavier loads, and it can make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling.
But it doesn't reduce the extra workload that's placed on your factory brakes. So if you ever felt like your truck takes longer to stop with a trailer or your brakes are wearing out faster than you've expected or that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES Brake Upgrade Kit comes in. This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads. Now, included here are these low-metallic onyx bike brake pads. They're gonna give you a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing.
So you're gonna notice more consistent braking performance on every road trip. And then the multi-layered rubber shims are going to help keep the brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance. On your screen, I have a few pictures there. The first photo just shows you an example of one of those Timbren shims, how it's constructed. And then the second photo shows you just a more detailed look at the brake pad itself and its construction as well.
So those positive molded pads, paired with these precision balance rotors, are gonna promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal feel. Now, speaking of the rotors, these are OEM-style vented rotors as you can see here. And so, that's gonna help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing. And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors, and they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins, and outer edges. As you know, heat is the enemy of brakes, so this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than the standard GEOMET coating most commonly found on OEM parts.
But this coating is also gonna help protect them from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between services without affecting braking performances. The brake pads also feature a bed-in coating indicated by the blue lines here on the pads. This is gonna transfer to the rotor to protect it during the first stop. So you're gonna be able to enjoy consistent braking performance sooner after the installation. This includes everything that you see here on my table. You're gonna get the rotors, the pads, the hardware, lubricant. So installation overall is gonna be relatively straightforward. But if you find that you need help with installation, maybe you're not real excited about doing this job yourself, that's okay, because on this product page, underneath the photos section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the install for you. But overall, if you've upgraded the suspension on your truck already, getting that smoother, more controlled ride, this brake kit is gonna compliment that by addressing, really, the other half of that equation, giving your truck the stopping power and the confidence to better handle that extra weight of towing or hauling. Together, they're gonna work to give you a safer, more capable towing setup. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
