When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This rear brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty pads with rotors that manage heat and deliver strong initial bite, so repeated stops stay smooth and predictable.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
New brake components require a break-in period before they deliver their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your rotors stay looking better between services without affecting braking performance.
Replacing brake rotors is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi friends, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a look together at this Timbren rear wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2020 to 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 with the dual rear wheels. And on custom fit parts such as this kit. I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Pop in the year, make and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Now, upgrading your suspension can definitely improve ride quality, can help reduce sag when you're hauling heavy loads, and it can make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling, but it doesn't reduce the extra workload that's actually placed on your factory brakes. So if you've ever felt like your truck took longer to stop while you're towing a trailer, or you've got a heavy load, or maybe your brakes are wearing out faster than you've expected, or maybe that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit is going to come into play. This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads. And it features these low metallic OnyxBite brake pads that are going to give you a strong initial bite and eliminate the brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. So you're going to notice more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip.
And then it does include these multi-layered rubber shims that are going to help reduce the the noise that could be made from typical brake pads. And it's not going to sacrifice braking performance. If you take a look there on your screen, the first photo there is actually a closeup of an example of one of the Timbren's shims and how it's constructed. And then the second photo is just a more detailed look at the construction of the brake pad itself. So these positive molded pads paired with these precision balance rotors are going to promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal field.
Now speaking of the rotors, these are OEM style vented rotors as you can see here. And so that's going to help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing. And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors and they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins and outer edges. And as you know, heat is the enemy of brakes. So this Onyx Bond coating has a heat threshold of up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than the standard Geomet coating that most commonly is used on OEM parts.
So this coating also is going to help protect these rotors from rust caused by road spray, moisture and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between services and without affecting braking performance. By the way, these pads, they also feature a bed end coating indicated by the blue lines on the pads. So this is going to transfer to the rotor to protect it during the first stops so you can enjoy consistent braking performance sooner after installation. This kit includes everything that you see here. You're going to get the pads, the rotors, the hardware, lubricant, and the wear sensor wire. Installation's going to be straightforward, but if you think you would like some help with installation, we can help you with that as well. On this product page, underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. But overall, if you've already upgraded the suspension on your truck, giving you that smoother, more controlled ride, this brake kit is going to compliment that upgrade. It's basically going to be addressing the other part of that equation by giving you the stopping power and the confidence that you need to better handle heavier loads, the extra weight that comes from towing and hauling and together, they're going to help create a more safer, more capable towing experience and set up. Well, that's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
