Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro rear axle airbag suspension kit. Now this kit is designed to work with your 2026 current Ford F-150, either the two wheel or four wheel drive models. And on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Just pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. If you also notice there on that graphic on your screen, we have three different options here.
You can either get the kit without the internal jounce bumpers, and I'll talk a little bit more later about what those bumpers do, or you can get this kit with the internal jounce bumpers. And if you get the jounce bumpers, this is what they look like. It's a cutaway of one of the bags here showing you that internal jounce bumper there inside the bag. Or you can get the creme de la creme, if I could say it like that. You can get the kit with the internal jounce bumpers and stainless steel hardware.
So whichever one is going to work best for you, whichever kit is gonna work best for you, just take the appropriate part number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search field of our website, that will take you to that kit and you can add that to your order. Now, as you know, when the load gets heavy, your truck is obviously going to need more than just your rear factory springs hanging on for dear life. These airbags are gonna give you up to 5,000 pounds of rear axle support, helping to keep your truck level and steady even when your trailer is loaded, your bed is packed, and the miles are long. So you're not gonna have to worry anymore about rear end sag throwing off your braking or steering or your headlights pointing up to the sky. Now if you get the kit with the internal jounce bumpers, you're gonna be able to run those airbags without air pressure because it's basically a built-in safety net if for whatever reason you don't have for air in your bag.
So you can safely run at zero PSI with the internal jounce bumpers. You can't do that with the kit without the internal jounce bumpers. So with the internal jounce bumpers, you're not gonna have to worry about that harsh rebound, just smooth factory style ride. So this kit includes factory precision cut brackets here that are designed to mount into your factory points in your truck. It also includes corrosion resistant hardware.
It includes these thick roll plates that are going to protect the bags here. And so the hardware, I don't have the all the hardware laid out, you're gonna get bolts and washers and nuts and things like that. I just didn't have a room on my table here. So I kind of assembled these loosely with the roll plates and the brackets kind of give you an idea of what this is gonna look like when you have the kit assembled. But you're gonna get all the hardware that you need, you're gonna get the airline that you need to get everything in place. The manual valves, inflation valves, usually mount through the license plate fastener holes or a location of your choosing and that may require drilling. But the fittings are are high quality. The precision brackets, these are laser cut brackets. And so all that's to say, with Pacbrake, I'm very impressed with the materials that they use. The airbags themselves are built with one inch thick corrosion resistant end caps and reinforced with 20 internal support wires giving you that maximum strength under load. Every haul is different, that's why these air springs are gonna give you full control over ride height and firmness with adjustable air pressure from five to 100 PSI. So for instance, if you're hauling a fifth wheel or a bed of gravel, you'll just crank up the pressure and then when you're unloaded and heading home, just drop the pressure back down for that softer ride. So again, this is going to give you up to 5,000 pounds of additional leveling support, but please be aware of the fact that airbags don't actually increase your truck's weight carrying capacity. So you wanna make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limits. So again, for you I am putting the options that we have there. Look good so far. not hard to install.
Overall the installation isn’t bad, couple bolts/nuts difficult to access but doable. Took little over an hour to install both heavy duty bags.
They do roughen the ride on the 2021 RAM 1500 hemi/etorque 4x4 with coil springs. I’ve brought the air pressure down to 2 lbs and still notice that without weight in bed or trailer attached it still is stiffer.
I would recommend using these Pacbrake heavy duty air bags.
Great kit. Great quality. Easy assembly. Would’ve given 5 stars except for the J-Hooks. Having the end user cut them off creates an opportunity for someone to mess up. They could easily be made the correct length without causing install issues.

The product is a great product. After installation was completed and the air added to the air suspension, it raised the rear end of the van about 2-3 inches.A very nice improvement.

The 2" spacers are definitely not needed for a Trail Boss. I could barely get them in, and now the ride is super stiff. Now I have to get back under the truck and remove the spacers. Not looking forward to that. It was very difficult installation, for no reason.

The directions could’ve been a little more detailed
Put about 1800 miles on these last weekend. Was picking up a car that's heavier than my normal race car on the ramp truck, so I wanted to give the truck a bit of help. Good news, it worked well. Truck rode beautifully, loaded or unloaded.
The instructions could be a bit more clear, in regards to the clinch stud. I had that on backwards at first because of how things appeared in the picture. Also, I know most things are DIY but installation was about 80% assembly, 20% actual install. If these came already assembled, it would have saved a lot of time!
These fit absolutely perfect. Easy install help keep my truck level when connected to my fifth wheel.
Simple to install, did it without pulling the tires and wheels I seen no need for that, It took me a total of 3 hrs. to install in my driveway.
What a difference the air bags make when towing a camper. Installation was easy, instructions were well written.
The air bags were very simple to install but the u bolts for my gooseneck mount interfered with the air bag mounting
Good quality product. For my 2018 1500 Silverado it was a little difficult to get the U bolt over the frame but under the hard lines running on top of the frame in that area.
Aluminum ends, brackets, and even packaging was all exceptional and part of the reason I choose these. Haven't trailered anything yet but upon initial install no noticeable difference ride difference running 10 psi on a F250.
Worked well when pulling trailer. Kept vehicle and trailer level. Without trailer seems to creak and groan more than I thought it would.
Both of the fitting leak where they swivel. Had to take everything back off. Not my first time installing bags but First time with this brand and will be the last. Etrailer won’t make it right and having me go though pacbrake. Waiting on email to get process started. They Don’t seem to be in any hurry. Will try and source fitting local so I can get this back together. Shane on you etrailer. I ordered from you and shipping was slow not knowing it was directly coming from manufacturer.
Went in easy enough, better than I thought. Ride without trailer attached is good. Have not hooked up trailer yet
Easy to install with the rear tires off, did one side at the time with a single jack and two jack stands. The towing of our fifth wheel is much better, much less chucking and more directional stable.
I decided on the pack break airbag due to my truck stock height. With a limited amount of room, there is between the axle and the frame they fit perfectly. They almost work with no air in them at all. I figure with a little bit of pressure. It’ll hold all the weight and still ride well I had them on the truck completely functional in an hour and a half, and that’s even with one bag, assembled incorrectly and reassembled correctly and installed so even with that little mistake it was still an hour and a half installed with the wheels off highly recommend this kit looks good. Seems to work well and fits in the tight space stock truck Cuz.
I like these bags. This is my 3rd set of air bags but my 1st set of PACBRAKE I have owned and they are the best. Metal where others are plastic. Powder coated instead of paint that rusts off. nice hardware instead of crummy allan bolts that can't easily be removed. The bracing is much better too. They are by far higher quality than the firestone. Installation is about the same but they use stainless air fittings instead of plastic like the other guys. The ends of the PACBRAKE are machined aluminum. My Airlifts brand were plastic with inserts that broke out.(see pic) I havent had the chance to use the new PACBRAKE under tough conditions but the hardware and Materials they are made of are superior to the other brands.
