The height control valve works exactly as it should.this particular vlve has a slow response to changes in height, which is good for a small air compressor/tank setup so as to not be cycling so much. Depending on your application there may be some fabrication of brackets, etc. to make it work properly. The small bracket provided that only had one hole drilled in it would not work for my situation.
I installed this along with a compressor and tank combination to the air spring setup on a 2020 ford f350 single rear wheel truck.

There is actually a delay of a few seconds before it starts to adjust so rough roads aren't going to have the # F2186 or # F2017 running constantly from slight movement up and down.

Troubleshooting Firestone Air Bag System that Wont Hold Pressure
There's a leak somewhere on the air lines or fittings of your air bag. What you'll need to do is go over all of the lines and fittings and see if you can find the leak and fix as needed. If the leak is on the line right at the fitting you can take the line off, cut it square with a line cutter # AL10530, and then reinstall it and that should fix it. If you put some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray the lines that can help pinpoint where the leak is as well.

The Firestone Automatic Single-Gauge Pneumatic Height-Control Valve kit # F2186-2047 that you had installed along with the air bag kit # F2525 controls air bag pressure for both springs equally so the issue with your uneven height from side to side is likely to be with a leak from the extra T that is on the right side air line. Does Automatic Single-Gauge Pneumatic Height # F2186 Require Compressor
To use the part # F2186 you do need to use a compressor and tank kit like the part # F2047. It does not work on it's own. I'd maybe try a kit like the # F2047 first to see if you are okay with how much input it requires and then decide if you want to go with the # F2186.
