When your tandem axles don’t move together, every bump throws the trailer off balance. This kit’s 24-5/8" long straight equalizers link the axles so they share the load and travel smoothly over uneven ground. The equalizer geometry allows 48-1/2" between axles, keeping the suspension balanced and reducing jarring motion through each wheel set.
A light-duty kit won’t last when you’re hauling serious loads. This hardware is designed specifically for tandem 10,000-lb general-duty Dexter axles, giving you the strength needed for working trailers and heavy hauls. The included 4-1/2" tall center hangers with 1" bolt holes and solid equalizer bolts create a firm pivot point that stays tight mile after mile.
Loose hardware can wear components fast and throw your alignment off. This kit uses heavy 3/4" diameter spring-eye bolts and 1" diameter equalizer bolts locked in place with matching locknuts. That solid, properly sized hardware means steady joints that don’t shift under load. You’ll need a 1-1/4" wrench or socket to snug those 3/4" bolts down right.
This kit pulls the center of the suspension together between axles, connecting four leaf springs (sold separately) to the trailer frame. Pair it with the HAP-158-00 front and rear hanger kit for a full tandem-axle setup. The pieces are designed to work together so the frame, springs, and axles line up exactly as they should for a clean, lasting install.

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Dexter Tandem Axle Trailer Equalizer Kit. This kit is going to allow you to attach four two and a half inch slipper springs to your trailer's frame. Those springs are sold separately. This kit will include these two, 24 and five-eighths of an inch long straight equalizers, as well as these two four and a half inch tall center hangers with the one-inch diameter bolt holes.
So these are gonna be designed for use on trailers with tandem 10,000 pound general duty Dexter axles. This will allow for 48 and a half inches of space between your axles. They do include the one-inch diameter center hole on your mounting hanger for your included one-inch diameter bolt. This is a five and a quarter inch long, one-inch diameter bolt. They also are going to include your one-inch diameter lock nut, as well as your three-quarter inch diameter spring eye bolts.
And this is a four and a half inch long bolt. You're gonna get two of those and two of the lock nuts for those so that you can get your springs mounted onto this side. So you will need to have a front and rear hangar for mounting your springs. If you don't already have those, we have a kit available you can use using that part number that you see on the screen there. That will give you the full setup with this kit when it's paired with this kit so that you can get those springs mounted on very easily.
This isn't going to include components for mounting your axle to the springs or the springs themselves or the axle. So it's just gonna be the equalizers and those mounting brackets to get the equalizers mounted in place. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Parts are accurate. As a welding professional for over 18 years, there are improvements that could be made to the manufacturing process, but they will do the job effectively. ETrailer was spot on again with the customer service and delivery. I called, explained what I was after, and was not let down.
the parts were easy to install. seemed to do a good job. they have lasted about a year and its about time to rebuild again. i would have thought they would last more than a year but then considering my trailer is loaded 6 days a week and my gross weight is just alittle over 46000. i will be ordering more parts again soon
This is exactly what I needed. After seeing the new ones, I realized how badly the old ones were worn. They fit perfectly, and arrived very quickly. These along with new springs, made the trailer pull like new again. I am going to order more for another trailer.
