Speaker 1: Today, on our 2014 Toyota Prius C, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Yakima Roof Rack System. This is going to consist of the Yakima Round Bars, part number: Y00408, the baseline towers, part number: Y00146, the adapters for our baseline towers, part number: Y03536, and our fit kit for our Prius, part number: Y06135 and Y06179.The Yakima Round Bar Roof Rack System is a great solution for carrying your vehicle accessories on your roof, whether those are bike racks, ski and snowboard carriers, or cargo baskets as long as they work with the round bars. The crossbars are made out of a solid steel construction, so they're strong and durable and they have a rubber coating, which will help to prevent rust and corrosion. The baseline towers are going to allow us to secure our crossbars to our roof rack, and these do have the option to place in the Yakima Same Key System Lock Core and that's going to prevent theft and tampering. When we remove the cover, you can see our fit kit on the inside. This is going to be custom-cut to our vehicle to give us a nice, secure fit. Any portion that actually touches our vehicle is going to have a rubber coating to prevent any scratches or abrasions. The baseline towers have a weight capacity of 220 pounds, though you do want to double check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your roof can withstand that much weight.
This crossbar system is going to be quick and easy to install, we'll show you how to do that now. Now, everything that you see on our table is what we will need to install our roof rack system. We're going to provide our own flat tape measure, but everything else will be included. We'll have our crossbar here with our adapter pieces. We're going to have the end caps for our baseline towers. Our baseline tower.
The included tool to tighten everything down. Our clamps for our fit kit, and our pad for our fit kit.To start off, we've placed on the round bar adapter. We've just plugged that onto our bar and then placed on our end cap. What we'll do next is take our tower, we're going to secure in the other portion of our adapter. We want to secure those together.
We'll open up the door on the front of our baseline tower. This will give us access to our bolt here, which will allow us to secure our two adapter pieces together. Want to make sure that's still loose, so that we can move our tower along the length of our bar. Now, we'll take the tab for our fit kit and we're just going to secure that in place onto our tower. Now, we'll measure out the placement for our towers. We're going to measure from the center of our bars, that'll be 24 inches from the end to the center.
We want that to measure from the center to the point of our tower, that's going to be 14-and-five-eights inches 14 5/8, or between the two we're going to have 29-and-a-quarter inches. Once we have that in the correct place, we'll take our tool and tighten down that bolt once again. Now, we'll place on our crossbar, and we want to measure out our crossbar spread. This is going to be from the front of our front tower to the front of our back. That measurement's going to be 32 inches. We'll just move our back bar until we reach the correct crossbar spread. We'll do the same thing to the other side. Now, we want to open our vehicle doors. We'll take the 43 clamps for our back bar and we'll set them into place, making sure that they hook onto the bolt on the inside. Now, we want to tighten down our bolt here, taking our included tool and tightening each side down evenly. Now, we'll know we have enough torque behind our bolt when our torque tool clicks. Close up the gray door and our vehicle door. Lastly, we'll take our included cap and place it onto our vehicle until it clicks. Now, we're ready to load up our accessories and hit the road. That's going to be our completed look at the Yakima Roof Rack System on our 2014 Toyota Prius C.

Knowledgeable sales rep.Help me through the process on purchasing my roof rack Recommended to anyone quality parts
I purchased clips that were stated as being compatible with our 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The front clips fit well, however the rear clips do not.
Excellent solution for my 2023 Chevy Silverado. In the past, I have had rails installed on the roof of my pickup trucks, but I find the BaseLine towers to be a better solution, since they don't permanently change the truck. Plus, they are much more solid than SkyLine system on the rails.
For a 2015 Mazda 3, 4 door sedan.
I used the 50" jetstream bars with the skyline towers and the #22 Landing Pads.
Went together easy, great quality, very solid feeling! And, easy to remove and install when needed.
Follow the instructions, and you can't go wrong on the self installation
Fit our Subaru Forester perfectly. Install was a breeze.
Really easy to install & work as specified. So happy with the customer support/service at etrailer.
Your notice of schemes was a lot better than the yakima site provided. They did not suggest the scheme you did.
But when the products arrived, the instructions were by yakima. Generally worked as instructed except the tower to tower transverse mounting dimensions needed to be tweaked for a perfect fit.
Still look and work great after a year. Fantastic investment and they didn't reduce my fuel economy. They don't produce a lot of wind noise either.
Love my Yakima roof rack!! It exceeds my expectations.great product. Also thank etrailer for the tec support! great staff always there to help thanks again!!
Ackage came 2 days early the install was somewhat easy (did it by myself)
Did not get to mount anything to it but seems really sturdy. One thing I can say is mark out your mounting points with provided stickers then put up and make adjustments to the roof rack.
I chose Yakima because I had one in the past and they were always reliable. Thule was my next choice but didn’t like the look of 53’ crossbars on my car. I really appreciated the easy to follow instruction that made installation a breeze. The kit came complete with everything I needed to install right out of the box. I purchased the 2 Hightower bike racks to go with the roof rack system and plan to safely secure both bikes for our trips. It was a bit heavier than I anticipated (combined with the bike carriers) which will hurt my MPG but having easy access to disassemble the bike carriers when not in use made it a no brained. Additionally, I love the look of the system on my car.
Great bars and easy installation on my 2012 Prius C
I waited several weeks for roof rack to arrive after ordering online. I am accustomed to Thule racks, but could not find any towers/bases to fit the 2019 Santa Fe. Once here, the Yakima rack mounted with ease and I look forward to hauling kayaks or basket on the roof.
Thank you etrailer.
The yakima jetstream crossbar looks beautiful. Quality is great. Took my vehicle for a test drive, and i didnt hear anything loose or broken from the bars. Very satisfied with the product and the instructions were great. It was my first time installing a roof rack too.
Solid build quality and easy installation on my '21 Mazda CX-5.
So far so good. Purchased these towers to use on a 2022 GMC Canyon with HD bars that I already had, primarily to carry my canoe. Yakima's fitting instructions worked perfectly and the whole system seems really solid.
The installation was super easy, and despite a long time stuck in shipping the delivery itself was extremely fast, and the package arrived in spotless condition. The manuals were very easy to follow, and the end result is absolutely amazing. I love that there's a rubber piece in the top rail that doesn't need to be cut, which makes it a very flush and smooth fit. I also love the modularity and the weight that it can handle, especially for the stuff i plan on carrying.
Well packaged and on time
These were very difficult to find to fit my Prius C. It took awhile to get them but I am very happy with the fit.
Lightweight and actually quite quiet with no attachments on them. With my bike racks there is a fair amount of noise but it doesn't come from just these. Mine is on a 2011 BMW 335.
not installed yet but everything was delivered on time and in good condition
Great product. Great service.
the product was exceptional. I would recommend it to anyone, who has a vehicle with a naked roof. It is a solid as a factory installed rack. Josh went out of his way to get me a replacement torque screw driver because the first one from Yakima was working properly.
