The flush design keeps the crossbars tight to the roofline, giving your setup a clean, from-the-factory look. Since the bars don’t extend past the feet, the system sits low and streamlined, creating a tidy profile that looks built-in rather than bolted on. It’s a simple way to keep your vehicle looking sharp while carrying extra gear.
The WingBar Edge crossbars have an aero-style shape that helps smooth airflow over your roof. Split rubber strips inside the top channels fill in around accessories to limit wind noise and vibration. You get a quieter ride on highways and long trips, even when you’re hauling gear up top.
These bars are ready for all kinds of adventures. The top channels and bar shape work with both channel-mounted and clamp-on carriers, so you can load up bikes, kayaks, skis, or cargo boxes without needing special adapters. It’s an easy way to make one rack do everything you love to do outdoors.
Mounting accessories is quick with the split strip design in the top channels. There’s no trimming or cutting required—just slide your mounts into place and the strips close back around them. It keeps installation simple while sealing out wind and weather for better performance.
You can add Thule’s One-Key System locks (sold separately) to secure the rack and any channel-mount accessories. It’s a straightforward way to help protect your gear when you park at a trailhead or stop overnight on a road trip.

I agree with you that the rack should include the keys however Thule only offers the one lock system separately as part # TH450400 for a 4 pack. They do it this way so that if you have other Thule accessories like a Thule kayak or bike carrier then you can have the option of ordering enough keys to swap them all out to key them the same. For example you can also buy a six part part # TH450600 or an eight pack like part # TH450800.
