The flush design keeps the crossbars tight to the roofline for a sleek, from-the-factory look. Nothing extends past the feet, so it blends in neatly and stays low profile. The result is a clean setup that doesn’t distract from the lines of your vehicle and feels like an integrated part of it.
Wind noise can get old fast when you’re cruising down the highway. These aerodynamic crossbars are shaped to help reduce that noise and drag. The top channels include split rubber strips that seal back around your accessories once you mount them. That not only keeps installation simple but also helps limit vibration and whistling while you drive.
Whether it’s kayaks in summer or skis in winter, these bars are ready for whatever you’re carrying. The aero-style crossbars are compatible with both channel-mount and clamp-on accessories, giving you flexibility for cargo boxes, bike racks, or water-sport carriers. You can use the gear you already have or add new attachments without changing your setup.
Some racks make you cut channel inserts before mounting your gear. The split strip design here solves that problem. You just slide your accessory into the track, and the strip closes itself back up around the mount. It keeps things sealed against weather and helps maintain that quiet, finished look.
You can upgrade security by adding Thule’s One-Key System (sold separately). It locks both the rack and channel-mounted gear so you can leave your setup installed when parked overnight or at the trailhead without worrying about it going missing.

I agree with you that the rack should include the keys however Thule only offers the one lock system separately as part # TH450400 for a 4 pack. They do it this way so that if you have other Thule accessories like a Thule kayak or bike carrier then you can have the option of ordering enough keys to swap them all out to key them the same. For example you can also buy a six part part # TH450600 or an eight pack like part # TH450800.
