Recommended Thule Roof Rack for a 2025 Toyota Highlander w/ Flush Roof Rails

Updated 12/08/2025 | Published 11/13/2025

Question:

I have a 2025. Toyota Highlander XL/e with flush roof rails. What do I need to either 1 be able to mount thule xbars that I already own and are long enough, or 2 add system to carry xcountry skis. Doe any one make a foot that fits into the pop off area of the existing flush rails? Possible might want to put kayaks up there in different season. My idea was xbars that attach to rails and then have someting to hold the skis that would attach to rails. thank you!

Hey Robin. If you have crossbars like the Thule item # TH711300 that extend over the sides of the mounting legs you will need the following parts to install them on your 2025 Toyota Highlander's rails:

Evo Fixpoint Feet for Thule Evo Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points and Tracks - Qty 4 item # TH49SC

Fit Kit for Thule Evo Fixpoint and Edge Fixpoint Roof Rack Feet item # TH22RE

If you have 41" crossbars that don't extend over the sides like item # TH86SC, you'll need the following parts:

Fit Kit for Thule Evo Fixpoint and Edge Fixpoint Roof Rack Feet item # TH22RE

Edge Fixpoint Feet for Thule Edge Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points and Tracks - Qty 4 item # TH29SC

There are no carriers that attach directly to the flush rails.

What style of crossbars do you have?

Hey Robin, what ended up working with the Thule crossbars on your Highlander’s flush rails? Your update could make it easier for others trying to mount skis or kayaks the same way.
