Specs:
The Rola Sport Series REX is a removable, locking roof rack with extended-length crossbars designed to maximize your vehicle's cargo-carrying capacity. The roof-rack legs mount directly to your flush, factory side rails and include molded rubber pads to protect your rails from scratches and abrasions.
The rack features a pair of silver, low-profile crossbars that extend past the roof-rack legs to create additional space for mounting carriers and accessories. The elliptical shape of the bars reduces drag and wind noise, and the aluminum construction ensures that the bars won't rust on your roof.
Each crossbar includes a built-in channel for mounting bike, ski, kayak and cargo carriers and accessories. The bars are also compatible with most clamp-around carriers and accessories. Rubber buffer strips in the channels provide slip resistance and help to cushion your load.
Each crossbar endcap includes a lock to secure the rack to your flush side rails. The locks also help to secure accessories and carriers mounted in the channels.

Thanks for the speedy delivery. Prescott, Ron.
Like the roof racks. They fit well, and are very secure. Fit an finish are good. There is a key lock on each end of the racks, which we can not figure out what it is for.
Our only really complaint that we have with these racks is that they tend to generate a bit of wind noise on the road.
Very happy with purchase

This is a locking roof rack. Lock cores on endcaps let you secure the system to your roof and also provide security for carriers and accessories mounted in the channels of your crossbars. Did you not receive the keys included in this roof rack?
I bought this product last year to transport our two kayaks on our SUV. It was easy to install and mounted firmly on the roof. So far, everything worked out great. I'm very satisfied with it.
The roof bars are awesome. I use them with a roof top cargo carrier. They are very easy to put on and off the 2017 Equinox.
Product was easy to install and looks good, fair price. Shipping was fast!

Product has held up well, even through our harsh winters. I would buy this roof rack again, Im glad I researched and purchased this one. Very happy with its performance at carrying kayaks. I will now try it for hauling building materials next.
Very satisfied. My roof rack was shipped fast, packed well, fits perfectly and looks great on my 2017 Equinox.
etrailer stands out as a great resource for excellent products, technical information, service and support.
Dear Ashley I knew what I wanted and I asked you for help and you led me to the right product and I've had great success with it
Wanted to thank you again at etrailer.com for all of your help and also give you some pictures of a 4 door, panoramic rooftop 2017 LX I couldn't find pictures of so there are examples you might be able to use for reference. The crossbars fit beautifully, and I've driven around with them all day, no noise - haven't loaded them yet, but they're sturdy, well made and awesome! Next month were getting the basket!
FYI, etrailer does not ship to PO boxes. I didn't recall seeing that anywhere on their website and there wasn't an error message that appeared when I entered my PO box address while submitting my order. Luckily the UPS driver called me and we were able to make arrangements for delivery. This did delay my delivery by 6 days.
Installation:
-Very straightforward once I found all of the parts.
-I initially had some trouble finding the keys for the roof rack so I was stuck on step 1 for several minutes. I eventually found them taped to the center of the box. I'm not sure why they couldn't have been included in the bag with the rest of the parts...
-Two L wrenches are provided and can be found inside the right end supports. Despite what some reviews said, I used them and they worked just fine for me.
-Step 5 is very helpful. I had to unscrew the bolts almost all the way before I could get the bars to fit properly on my roof.
Driving:
-I don't really notice the wind noise until I accelerate to speeds of 55 mph and above. It's fairly loud, but listening to music helps block out the sound.
I installed these on my car so that I could add a ski rack to the top. At first I was a little concerned because they didn't seem attached super securely, but they performed great all snow season! I just took them off today and it's really easy to get on/off once you put them on for the first time. I would highly recommend these.
Great, simple and easy to put on, it takes about 20 minutes. I've been planning a lot of white water kayaking trips this summer and I couldn't find these roof racks anywhere in my local retail shops. A friend of mine recommended I search here and I'm not disappointed.
Absolutely love these roof racks fit very well dont make noise just make sure to line them up well so they cant move from being uneven. The only draw backs i have had with them is the key is kinda hard to use sometimes but wd-40 solves that and the rubber came off the metal that secures it to the door but glued it back on and good to go ive hauled all kinds of stuff on them would buy again!
The Rola was just about the only naked roof cross bar setup for my Kia Forte 5 and it was also the most reasonably priced. It's only been a little over a year since I've had the roof rack setup but so far so good.
I paired the crossbars with two Yakima Frontloaders which worked out awesome for my bikes. In the past couple of months I have now thrown on a Rocky Mounts Tomahawk for my Fat Bike.
The front most Rola cross bar has slipped its way foward (about .25"), not sure why but it seems to be locked in place now, perhaps I had it seated too far to the rear. This movement was identified due to the dirt mark shaped like the fastening panel that was on both sides of my roof where cross bar panel/clamps use to be.
All in all for the price point I am still satisfied with the performance, though again it has only been some 13 months. I hope to have the same satisfaction another year or two down the road.
FYI - Apply temporary threadlock/locktite when mounting/securing crossbars. You'd think that'd be common sense but I remember seeing a few negative reviews when I decided to purchase that people noted bolts became loose over time.
1 year and these guys have held up really well. Was looking for a rack to ultimately hold bikes, and I’ve been able to stick 2-3 road bikes on very easily. The rack does have a slight curved shape, so the bikes aren’t at quite a perfect vertical, but it’s not noticeable enough to be a no go for me. Note that this rack is rated to a max of 150 lbs. I tied some wood to it at one point to bring it home from the depot one day, and I definitely was pushing it’s limits, so keep that in mind.
Some people mentioned noise as an issue. Any rack causes noise, but I personally have not noticed any prominent whistle noise since getting it. Definitely more wind noise with than without it. But nothing closing the sun roof shade and the turning up the volume knob won’t fix :)
Overall, great rack at a great price. Looks awesome on the car too (like they were meant to be there all along), which is a plus.
ETrailer has great videos on installation with step by step instructions for the least technical person like myself. This product has labels that go in the door frame for exact positioning. There are labels indicating where each piece goes such as front left, front right, back left and back right which eliminates guessing even if your staged parts get moved.
There is wind resistance on any roof rack, his oone has minimal amounts and you can purchase the optional pieces to reduce that if noise reduction is important. I did not feel that was necessary. He rack has great performance at any speed, but we mainly hit the highway around 70 which is our posted limit. I also purchased optional hood straps which keeps my front pieces in their normal shape and position while makin it much easier to ratchet down both front and rear. The rear attaches to my trailer hitch and I have minimal bending reducing fatigue on the back from bending.
I highly suggest this product which is much more economical compared to its competition.
We use the rack mainly for transporting kayaks but plan to add more uses as it has proven itself with this application. I lost a rack when it flew off on the highway from a “universal” mount product due to a faulty sized bracket. This unit specifically fit our Corrola and has protective pads to keep the paint fro being scratched under the door bracket which fits snuggly and appropriately.
First let me say how impressed I was with your website. The product information and installation videos definitely helped me make my decision on which products to purchase. The prices were fair and ordering was simple. I was kept informed of the status of my order and I received all the items in 6 days.
The Rola Roof Rack with GTX mounting system was very easy to install on my Ford Edge . After a little adjusting to fit my boat , the Rola Hull-Hauler Kayak Carrier securely held on the first trip to the river.
I ended up loading and unloading the kayak from the passenger side of the car. By flipping the 2 right side saddles of the carrier toward the side, I was able to lift and set the kayak into the saddle and then center everything . I used a small step ladder so that I didn't have to lift the 50 lbs. kayak over my head.
The hood anchors made securing the front and rear of the kayak very easy . This will be especially important when transporting 2 boats at the same time.
Very happy with the product but there are a few minor annoyances.
1. The included bolts are quite short, so you need to push down on the rack, to thread them in, that is quite difficult as you need to push down, find the thread and screw it in at the same time.
2. The included security star key fits but is loose, so you need to press down on it otherwise it starts to wear the bolt.
3. The rubber gasket fits around the roof, but doesn't go down far enough to seal the rain gutter, so there is a hole in the front and back of each foot.
4. There is wind noise but no whistling, at 40+ kph you can hear a deep wooooo sound, but again its not loud.
5. The plastic covers are very brittle, I broke one of the hinge mounts during the initial installation process with very little pressure, lucky its not vital and the locking mechanism and still works.
I bought this rack, because I needed more cargo space for a weekend trip. I know I will be using this infrequently, which made this products price very attractive. I borrowed a Thule Cargo box(see picture) and it worked perfectly. The ability to use a T-Channel mount is great too! Was given a T-Channel snowboard mount that fits perfectly.
Would have given this a Perfect score, if it had longer screws so that I could put it on and off easier. Its definitely a solid product, and I am very happy with the purchase.
On a side note, the Customer Service was exceptional through the pre-purchase, ordering, and post purchase stages.
Thanks Etrailer
2013 Honda Fit - Once you know that it goes 250mm towards the front from the B column and 700mm back from there for the second one, this installs incredibly easily. It was secure enough to shake the car with hand tight, but I used a drill with a security bit to tighten it to a little more than hand tight anyway and it is rock solid. Keeping to the 110lb weight limit is going to be a little annoying, but I know that's the car's limitation and not the rack. I can finally bring home a bunch of 2x4s or a sheet of plywood without renting a truck!
Even better than the rack, the customer service from etrailer.com has been spectacular. From the moment I clicked order until I was happy with the installation, I always felt like they had my back. Quick acknowledgement of the order, an update a few hours later tracking the order through their process to shipping with a tracking number, a followup when they saw that it had been delivered, and a quick answer to my question on the item -- constant communication without being annoying and cumbersome. Thanks for everything!
Instal was not difficult. My son uses it daily for surf boards, paddle boards, and kayaks. Very secure and holding up nicely one year after purchase.
Transforms my Kia Soul. Easy to install. No tools necessary was the great part (meaning I don't need any of my own wrenches, sockets--none of that). I used the fat end of a key (could've used a coin) to slide covers off four thread points on my roof. One Allen-type wrench per bar that snaps inside. The front bar is clearly labelled and the 2 sizes bolts (50 & 53 mm) are distinguishable so look closely before throwing one in. Gaskets fit perfectly on roof and countours. Arrows on gaskets and brackets point to center of roof and I just breathed in and snapped a few pics before it was torqued down firm, not tight. The four keys is generous amount. It's nice how the covers stay out of the way in one of two ways while fastening bolts. I can't wait to get the ski rack. The look, though. I am very pleased. People stare.
This rack is priced right but I would not purchase it again if I planned to use it more than a couple times a year. First, the fact that I can easily remove it is a big plus. However, because I only plan to use the rack a few times a year, I normally leave it off the car but the rack mounts plates stay attached the roof rails full time. Unfortunately the screws that attach the plates to the rail are not rust proof and rusted badly within 2-3 months after I installed the plates. I called ROLA to see if they had better screws but they did not and offered no alternatives. Eventually I bought stainless screws to replace the screws supplied with the rack and have not had any problems since. Also, because the riser mounts are open underneath, there is a lot of noise when the rack is attached to the car while driving. This is not a significant issue for my needs but if I did plan to leave them attached I probably would replace them with something better and quieter.
Ordered Rola Crossbars for a 2016 Honda CRV and they look awesome. Product came in good packaging and the quality is great. Relatively easy to install if you are patient and would highly recommend this product to anyone. Most lean towards Thule and Yakima products... although they are great as well...I feel that Rola takes the cake because of the price and quality of these their crossbars. To top it all off, the customer service was extremely helpful as well. All around happy customer, will order from etrailer again.
I was looking to upgrade my factory crossbars on my 2009 MDX and after balking on the $$$ for Thule or Yakima, I decided to give Rola a shot. I previously purchased a Rola hitch mounted cargo carrier and was very happy with the looks and the quality.
Product arrived quickly from etrailer as I have come to expect. After removing my factory crossbars (easy as long as you have torx head bits), the Rola assembly was simple and intuitive. Installation took a bit longer than expected and would have been aided by another pair of hands. The install is very simple, but getting the overhang to match up on each side of the vehicle took longer than expected. The crossbar tends to bind up on the feet even when they are loose making it difficult to adjust the overhang. An assistant would have saved a dozen or so trips around the vehicle to measure and adjust. For this reason, I would not recommend these if you plan to take them off and put them back on frequently. If you plan to leave them on the vehicle like me (or don't care if they are exactly even), then I highly recommend these racks.
They look good, come with locks, only require a tape measure and scissors to install, make zero wind noise and most of all are solid. I will have upwards of $2k in surfboards on these at times and would not use them if I had any concerns. Very happy with my purchase and expect to get years of service out of them.
I had been looking for car racks for the 2012 Veloster for a while but was appalled at the prices for Yakima and Thule systems. The Rola rack is exactly what I was looking for. The system is cost effective and looks great.
The system is easy to install and has worked well with third party mounts (bike/kayak). I would highly recommend Rola to anyone looking at car racks.
This roof rack is an excellent product, it is very sturdy and has little noticeable wind noise. The only noticeable wind noise comes when you’re driving on a windy day. Packaging was not up to par though. The rear rack came scratched, due to the staples they use to hold the box closed. Install time was quick and easy. I’ve only had the rack on for two months and the rear bar is already starting to have paint fade. I will either repair it myself or warranty claim it. It has carried my kayak with no problems. Overall this is an excellent rack. And I’m completely satisfied. I would have given it 5 stars if the rack didn’t come scratched.
