Rhino-Rack HD Crossbars - Silver - Qty 2:Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Today on our 2016 Nissan Rogue we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino Rack Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers RRVA126S-2. That's going to be the Vortex arrow bars. Part number RRRLKVA, that's going to be the 2500-series legs and part number DK396, that's going to be the fit kit. The crossbars are made of an anodized aluminum, so they're going to be strong and durable and resist corrosion. The elliptical design of the bar is going to reduce wind noise and drag. The weather stripping is going to keep dirt and debris out of the channels as well as provide a slip-resistant surface for any of your mounted accessories.
The crossbars are 49 inches long. They have a weight capacity of 165 pounds. Now you do want to make sure you check with the manufacturer that your roof can handle that. They also come in a quantity of two. Now everything you see does come with a kit. We already have one bar installed on our vehicle and one side of our other bar completed.
We'll go ahead and put the other side together. First, you're going to take your base plate here and mind the position of the arrow. That's always going to be facing away from the vehicle. Then you're going to take your rubber pad, and you're going to put it on to the bottom of here. Again, you want to mind the arrow.
The arrow is going to be facing towards the front of the vehicle. We're just going to take our pad, and we're going to slip it on there. You'll see these grooves right here and on the bottom of your foot, these two rods. You're just going to pop it on to there. Now you're going to take your clamp and you're going to remove this bolt. You're going to place your clamp with the hook facing in like that, line up the hole, and replace the bolt loosely for now.
You will notice there's a little plate right here. You may have to loosen this bolt up, but we're going to take that plate, and we're going to line up our foot with our crossbar. Now we're going to measure from the end of the channel right here, and we're going to line up our foot pad, the edge of our footpad, like so. You'll find the measurement for your application in the instructions. Once we have it in the position we need, we'll go ahead and tighten up our foot pad. I do want to mention one of the nice things about the included tool, it is a torque tool. The curved piece here, when you know you've reached the right torque, it will straighten out, and you don't need to tighten it any more. Now with the bar fully assembled, we can go ahead an open up the doors and get ready to place it on our vehicle. With your bar in a general position that you want it, the manufacturer does say you need to measure from the center of this crossbar to the center of this crossbar. You'll find that measurement in your instructions. We do want to make sure that we measure both sides, so everything is square. With our bar in position, we're going to go ahead and tighten it up, making sure that we alternate between both sides. What I like to do is tighten up one side until I make contact, switch to the other side, and alternate, making sure that I tighten each side equally. Again, the provided torque tool, the curved part, is going to straighten out when you know you've reached the proper torque. Like that, and then you know you don't need to tighten it any more. Another nice feature is that the end caps are locking, so you don't have to worry about any tampering or theft. We'll go ahead and put those on now. In our final step, we'll be putting our end caps in. Simply place them in, and they are locking as well. We'll put the other one on the other side. Now we're ready to load up our gear and hit the road. That will finish up the look at the Rhino Rack Roof Rack on our 2016 Nissan Rogue.

These heavy-duty, aluminum crossbars work with Rhino-Rack legs to create a sturdy roof rack. The square bars include built-in C-channels for mounting Rhino-Rack heavy-duty, contractor-grade accessories.I bought this roof rack kit for my 2015 Nissan Rogue awd 5-dr. The shipping time was excellent and everything arrived together and undamaged. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and I had it put together and ready to mount in about 30 min. Aligning it on the roof is definitely easier with two people, but can be done alone. The forward rack's rubber feet fit seamlessly on the roof of my car and tightened snugly with no worries of it flying off. Be sure to follow the directions for the included torque wrench and everything will form perfectly. The rear rack's rubber feet form is a little off and they don't sit flush with the car's body, but after torquing to the required tightness the rear rack fit securely with only a tiny gap between the body and feet. On the road, I made it up to 75 mph before any whistling was noticed, but some music at mid volume drowned it out. Be sure to cut the rubber and fit everything as precise as possible. This will prevent drag and whistling. The quality of the metal and plastic isn't as high as other brands, but when those other brands don't fit your car you have to compromise and this would be my top pick.
We bought this last year and it fits perfect. We left it on car for whenever we need it
Here are some pics of the Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbars - Silver - 50" Long - Qty 2 installed on my 2011 Honda CR-V.
That I recently purchased.
The rack fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be made well. The problem is the amount of road noise. I never even put the basket on. It was so loud, it roared. I repositioned it several times but the noise was way too much and I finally just removed it. I spent a lot of money for the rack and the basket and now they are in storage. I wish it would have worked out better because I thought it looked really good.
Easy to install have not a year now no problems
I would say these are the part to give me the most concern when I installed but haven't had any issue.
Very easy to put together. Once together it was even easier to install on top of my car. Wasn't sure what to expect, but I am thrilled that I got this roof rack. Now I don't have to rely on other people and their cars to move stuff. Now I just have to wait till next ski season before they get full use
Ordered a Rhino Rack for my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. Rack arrived in very good shape and all items were there. Installing at this time and see no problems ahead.
Good quality and locks are included. The plastic lock covers are flimsy but they will keep an honest person honest.
Installed the rhino rack kit on my 2017 Nissan Rogue. Fits really good and easy to install. Fast shipping too. I have a rack for my prius as well from etrailer.com and love there products. I installed a roof basket on my rack also. It also makes your ride look cool as well as functional.
I was a little hesitant to order the rack as previously tried have not fit my Nissan Rogue.
The shipment came in super fast and the installation took me about an hour. I got a little confused with the rubber pads but once I figured it out, the rest went smoothly.
The rack fits well and looks great on my car. I have yet to test it - hopefully it’ll hold my kayak and I can finally enjoy it.
I got the roof rack mounted anyways. Better pics to come when it's all finished!

Love the rhino rack system. I just need to remember to check the tightness of everything each time I use it. My wife and I purchased this to put kayaks up on her Rogue which had not roof racks. This system is easy to use and works great. We have now added the rhino stack for the kayaks and can fit more up there! Thanks etrailer.
I’ve had it for a year now and it’s holding up just like new! I take out off during the winter which is actually a really simple process. The attachments go on easily by hand and it’s Super durable roof rack. Very pleased
Rack fit nice and installed easy. Able to shake the whole car by grabbing on the rack so they are definitely not coming off.
Excellent customer service, all current manufacturers for this type of equipment is not available for purchase because Yakima, Thule, even Rhino Rack did mention from customer service representatives from these 3 companies states you are better off purchasing from a distributor such as E-trailer. This company definitely had the transfer equipment from a Yakima support base to a Rhino Rack crossbar system. I needed the additional load weight and Jaime from E-Trailer was extremely patient and helpful…seriously awesome customer service…also my package came 2 days earlier in this truck driver shortage too. Job well done.
Where do I start?
I've been whitewater kayaking for 22 or so years now. I've always used used either Yakima or Thule products...
Until I bought a 2015 Nissan Rogue with a naked roof. The curvature of the roof and large door jams mean that Yakima and Thule can't make racks for them. I went to a place that does custom installs and again because of the curvature of the roof, they couldn't give me a rack. This meant no kayaking which is really bad news.
Enter the Rhino rack system. I purchased the feet, the fit kit, the cross bars and a Yakima "big stack" stacker. The first issue I had is the reccomended size for the Nissan Rogue is only 48 inches. Way too small too haul 4-5 (very light) whitewater kayaks. I called etrailer and they were SUPER helpful, told me I can buy the 65 in cross bars and they'll work fine.
I held my breath and placed my order. I was nervous leaving my trusted name brands. The order arrived super fast (they told me it would arrive by Friday but it actually arrived on Thursday) and everything was packaged rock solid. I was impressed.
I read the instructions and put the rack system on my car. It took about a hour (it was hot and I worked slowly) but the rack system is SUPER SOLID. I love it. Rhino might have a "forever" customer out of me.
-The rack system is very stable. I can't move it with my hands by pushing or pulling.
-The rubber stripping you put on the top and bottom of the bar is an awesome added feature AND it reduces wind noise.
-Adding the fairing reduced wind noise even further. With four boats on the roof you couldn't hear any extra noise.
The ONE thing I dislike is that you need to use the supplied Allen wrench to take the rack on and off the car. It's a small complaint, but other systems I've used in the past don't have them.
I paid much less for this system than I would have if I purchased one of the aforementioned systems, but I'm really really satisfied with the product. We will see how well it holds up over long-term use, but it looks awesome!
This kit is easy to slap on and sturdy enough to balance my skis and snowboards. I recently used the Rhino Rack on a three hour drive to a ski resort and had no issues.
This loader is amazing...I easily load a 4' x 14' Sunfish sailboat at 120lbs easily without damaging my 2005 Nissan Armada...super sturdy...exactly as advertised. Note:. I order the extra heavy bar and did not need it! Now I take my sailboat with me while I pull my travel trailer. You won't be disappointed. Etrailer ROCKS IN CUSTOMER SERVICE...THEY HUNTED DOWN ALL INFO NEEDED TO MAKE THE PURCHASE...give DENA W a big raise!!!!!!
The Rhino rack has been working well. It is a relief to get my ladder out of my car and to be able to use the back seat.
This is my second Rhino-Rack. They go on very easily and hold the bikes/kayaks and even an extension ladder very well....thanks for a great product
This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks.
Installation was easy. I’ve used this roof rack for a year and it’s been great! I’ve hauled kayaks, furniture, a Christmas tree, and more. Would buy again.
Worked out perfectly for my 2019 Nissan Rogue! Takes some time to get the racks/legs in the right position(s), but once done and locked down...they're rock solid, and have been for the last year!
