Replacing a cracked or discolored skylight garnish means you need a proper fit without guesswork. This inner garnish fits standard 18" x 24" cutouts and diffuses harsh light, giving your ceiling a finished look and softer light inside.
Finding a replacement that lines up with an existing cutout can stall a repair, especially when exact specs are unclear. This garnish is built for a 18" x 24" cutout with a 20" x 26" flange, so it aligns with common opening sizes and provides full interior coverage. You can focus on matching the opening instead of chasing exact model specs.
After removing a skylight, exposed foam and wood around the opening can leave the interior looking unfinished. This garnish installs on the inside to cover those rough edges and sits flush against the ceiling. The result is a clean, finished look instead of visible construction materials.
Interior trim that sits too high can interfere with the skylight above or reduce usable space. With an approximate 4" bubble height, this garnish is shaped to nest without contacting the skylight when measurements are verified. You keep the intended clearance without unwanted contact points.
Direct light through a skylight can create glare and uneven brightness inside. The white polycarbonate construction diffuses incoming light as it passes through the garnish. This creates a more even light spread instead of harsh direct exposure.
Missing hardware during installation can slow things down if you're not prepared. This garnish installs using 1" screws, which are not included, and some people add butyl tape (sold separately) inside the flange. That tape can help block water from getting inside, while others skip it so any skylight leak shows up right away instead of being hidden. Having your materials ready and knowing how you want to seal it avoids delays once you start.

Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at our specialty recreation inner garnish for your RV skylight. Folks, this fits a 18-by-24-inch cutout and it is sized with a 20-by-26 flan. So it's a UV-resistant polycarbonate that's gonna stand up to sun exposure. It's not gonna crack or break, discolor. It's a super-rigid design, as you saw.
It stays put. There's no warping or lifting between screws after installation. Speaking of screws, they are sold separately, or if you have some locally, you can use them as well. It's gonna soften harsh sunlight, and it's a white polycarbonate that diffuses light for a nice, comfortable interior. So again, this is just the inner garnish.
If you don't have one, you would also need an outer garnish sold separately. The bubble height is approximately four inches tall, so this space here. And that can vary depending on the molding machine and those kind of things. It could be a couple 1/16 of an inch off or something. But the main thing is it's rigid, it's gonna pop back into place every time.
Great addition for any RV that needs a replacement skylight. And that's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven. As always, if you have questions about this, the size, the cutout, any of that information, reach out to us, we'll be more than happy to help you out. Have a good one.
