Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Seaflo White 14 1/2 inch wide by 14 3/4 inch tall Multi-Purpose Access Door. Now, this multi-purpose access door will allow easy, keyless access to a compartment on your boat or your RV, so this door would be ideal for accessing control panels, valves, and wiring. Does use the dual quarter turn recessed latches, they'll turn independently to allow you to open the door, so you can see, once both of them are turned a quarter of turn, then you can open the easy open hatch door, Nice thing about this, if you noticed, it will swing completely 180 degrees open to give you plenty of room to reach your gear. Now, the durable, water-resistant synthetic fittings and the rubber seals on this will help keep your compartment dry when the door is closed, so when you do close this and latch it closed, that'll help seal it, keep any moisture getting in. This is a nice, low-profile hatch, mounts flushed to the surface, and it does have a non-skid surface on the front here, let me just zoom in even closer.
And if you look closely, you can see the texture on it, that non-skid surface will prevent any slipping when this is installed in the floor. And also, I wanted to show you that when we open this up, if you look at the bottom of the lid itself, it has this heavy-duty support braces all built in, and that gives extra strength to the lid. So when you do close this and if it happens to be on the floor, if somebody would step on it, it still gives strong support, won't damage it. This is a strong ABS plastic construction, it does resist UV rays, road salts, and acid. Now, the mounting hardware to install this is not included, you would have to supply that.
But basically, you can see, if I open this up, and you'll see around the frame, it has the mounting holes here that are already drilled, all you have to do is use your own mounting hardware. This is a nice, bright white color. Now, this hatch is also available to black, we do sell that separately on our website, and it's listed on this product page as a related product. I do wanna give you a few dimensions on this, we're gonna measure the external dimensions, so with the door closed, the width and the height. So if we do that, let me just go ahead and pull this out a little bit more, there we go, the external width is right at 14 1/2 inches, the external height, 14 3/4 inches.
And then what I'm gonna do is open this, oops, it's already open. So with it open, what I'm gonna do is measure the opening width and the opening height. So the opening width is right at 11 5/8 inches, opening height is also 11 5/8 inches. But again, when you close your lid, rotate your latches a quarter of turn, and then it's gonna lock into place. But that should do it for the review on the Seaflo White 14 1/2 inch wide by 14 3/4 inch tall Multi-Purpose Access Door..

The shipping and processing was great and the quality of the access door is really nice. However the door will not work for my application. The 9-5/8 wide door has an opening that is only 6-1/2 wide and I need 7 inches. I’ll keep this door and use it for a different application, it will cost to much to return it.
Arrived timely and looks like good quality. We will install it next week. This will give a bit better access to the area where the water valves are located

I was excited to receive my hatch door.
I after opening it it seemed to be well built and nicely packaged when pulling back the plastic wrap I did notice it had a few scratches on the front.
I’m not too worried about the scratches because it’s really not that visible from our house.
This is going on the outside of a new Spa that we are putting man made veneer stone on.
The door or hatch is exactly what we needed.

Unlike other products purchased from E-Trailer that have performed well this product not so great. With minimal usage in one year of ownership the latch mechanism failed. I will be seeking a warranty replacement.

Nice solid door, smooth latched and simple installation. Used it on my houseboat, we removed the old propane water heater and needed a cover for the hole left behind, but wanted it to be a door so we can access the new electric water heater for service in the future. I’ve had it for a year and it looks great and hasn’t faded in color.
