Hello neighbors and friends, Steve here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're taking a look together at the Big Truck Big RV tongue weight scale for trailers with the included bag. And you can also get the bag separate as well. So folks, if you want the storage bag by itself, maybe you've already got the scale, that's the far left image. And if you need the bag with the weight scale, that's the combined part number there on the far right. Now folks, with this scale, you're gonna check the tongue weight of your trailer to make sure your trailer is properly loaded and safely loaded.

It's super simple to adjust with just one hand. You can go up and down to the correct height you need. It has a nice built-in gauge that's gonna give you readings from 50-pound increments, so from zero to 2000 pounds in 50-pound increments. And it also shows you the weight in tons, which is a nice little feature. Now how do you use this Well, pretty simply, again, you got your trailer level, you got wheel chocks in place for safety.

You put this guy up underneath the coupler, it's gonna fit all ball sizes out there, 1 7/8, two inch, or 2 5/16 inch ball couplers. Once you got your trailer level, you'll drop the coupler down onto the scale. Leave about an inch or two underneath your jack of the trailer so all the tongue weight is safely on the scale. Get the reading, you wanna be between 10 to 15% of the total trailer weight with the gear and stuff in place. If you're not within that safe 10 to 15%, raise the jack back up to get it off the scale, redistribute that trailer load properly, strap it back down safely.

Reread until you get that safe 10 to 15% increment. Now one thing I like about this scale is that it's gonna spring load the handle here, and you can simply go up or down to reach the trailer coupler with ease. Some of the other brands that are out there on the market, they're really short, and you gotta block stuff up, and it's just hard to use sometimes. As far as some dimensions, I've mentioned that it already fits all three ball sizes out there, that it's rated for max 2000 pounds. The maximum height from the ground to the top of where the coupler's gonna sit is 20 1/2 inches tall.

If I use the spring loaded lever and drop it all the way down from the ground to the top of where the coupler sits, it's 14 1/2 inches. So you got a nice variety of range there for use. Now this scale itself, the body is made of aluminum, so it's nice. It's not gonna corrode on you or anything like that, but it's very robust at the same time. Now the foot plate itself is about 5 1/4 inches wide, and it's made of hardened steel, so it's gonna give you a nice sturdy hold, and it's been a powder-coated red to, you know, prevent rust and corrosion as well. Now as far as the bag itself, the bag's gonna be nice as well. It's got nylon durable seams. It's made of a rugged material, it's gonna last. It is water resistant. You've got nice oversized zippers here to make opening and closing a cinch. The nylon handles go together, and then you've got a hook and loop fastener here to hold it. Now this whole thing is pretty light, but the bag is made to hold up to 30 pounds. You've also got handles here on the sides. Maybe you wanna hold it this way while you're walking, or like this, possibly, you got options. Overall, this bag is about 17 3/4 inches long, 5 1/2 inches tall, and approximately six inches wide whenever it's fully at its shape.
