Picking The Correct Surge Protector For Your RV

Question:

My Fifth wheel RV has 50 amp service. There are campgrounds that I have visited that only offer 30 amp service. So if I buy surge protector for 50 amp, will it work to protect if I am hooked to 30 amp service?

Watchdog surge protectors like the Portable Power Watchdog Surge Protector with Bluetooth - 50 Amp Item # HU47FR will need to match your camper amperage to properly function. The adapter from 50 amp to 30 amp will go between the surge protector and the power pedestal and you should have no issues.

If you need a new 50 amp to 30 amp adapter I recommend the Power Grip RV Power Cord Adapter w/ Handles - 125V - 50 Amp Female to 30 Amp Male Item # CAM55185. The built-in handles on the each end provide easy removal. Yellow connectors help you see the adapter in dim lighting.
