Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at our power grip replacement RV power cord adapter receptacle with included handle for a 30 amp, and it's a female side. So folks, this 30 amp female receptacle will replace an old or damaged connector on your RV's power cord adapter. It also lets you build your own adapter if you don't have one, but you have the cord and everything. So there's a bunch of screws here. You would take those four bottom ones out and the center one out.
And then, at that point, you'd be able to take it all apart, just like this image, and then wire it up according to the instructions and the diagram inside the instructions for the correct wire to the correct set screw there. Now the built-in handle does make it nice and ergonomically friendly, so you can pull it out or push it in with ease. (adapter thuds) And it's a nice, hard, rigid plastic material. My purpose & use, is RV electrical cord replacement of molded female connection. Looking at product info it did not say “indoor use only”. It appeared to be like the quality outdoor use one expects w/RV. It is hard plastic. Nothing in its product paper says anything about “indoor or outdoor” use. (Not good) The design has a cord clamp to prevent the cord from being pulled at the electrical wiring lugs. Each lug is color coded for matching wires (very good). 2 screws w/ nuts hold the cord clamp collar(very god) 3 screws on its face attach the back to the front. No nuts/ friction creates the hold in premolded holes. There is a 1/8” space between collar and body. NO rubber grommet/ moisture sleeve. I tightened the 3 face screws, and one of the heads popped off! NOT designed for wet environment as far as I can tell.
