Today we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made 20-inch-long steel gas shock. Now, this gas shock is designed to replace a worn-out or damaged shock on your dock box or boat head. It's a coated annealed steel construction, provides corrosion resistance, so it is perfect for high-saltwater areas. And it will easily install in minutes, no special tools required. And when you do install this, you want to make sure this rod portion is always facing down. And it is recommended to replace these gas shocks in pairs. The connection on this is a 10-millimeter ball socket, has a retaining clip to hold it into place. What I wanted to show you is we're going to zoom in on one of the ends.
And when you go to install this, what you'll notice: Here's your ball socket that goes over the 10-millimeter ball, and on top of it, there's this retaining clip that goes across. If you take a flat-tip screwdriver, you can slide it in under that retaining clip, pry up on it to release it, and that allow you to push this onto your 10-millimeter ball. Once it's on the ball, push that retaining clip back down and it'll secure into place. So it is a very simple installation. The length on this is 20 inches, and that's always measured center of this ball socket to the center of this one. So center-to-center, there's your 20-inch length.
And the output for something to shock is 60 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made 20-inch-long steel gas shock.
