Hey, everybody. Jared from etrailer.com. Today we'll take a quick look at the outrigger exterior straight RV step cover in atlantic blue by Prest-O-Fit. This is for one straight step cover that is a decent size, 23 inch width by eight to 11 inch depth. It's a heavy-duty outdoor carpet step rug which wraps around your straight RV steps. It's going to give you a place to wipe your dirt, mud, grass, and other debris off of your feet.
It does have a micro ribbed texture with increased traction. So you can climb in and out of your RV without fear of slipping. It is easy to clean. You just hose them off, allow it to air dry and you're good to go. The solid design is going to cover the gaps and holes and steps.
And you might have a pet that has some uneasiness with stairs because stairs are made of metal. And sometimes pets do not like the way their paws feel or the sound that it makes when their nails touch the metal surface. And also sometimes the steps have gaps in them. And perhaps it bothers your pet when they can see through them. Well, this would be a good way to cover those holes and gaps while creating a firm surface to use your pets concerns.
We take a look at the rug itself. It is that atlantic blue color, a big fan of it. It's a bit bold for some people's tastes, I can imagine, but if you like this color I'm sure it'd be very, very nice for you. It does have that micro ribbed texture and it feels good on my hands. Perhaps it'll feel good on your feet if you walk around your RV site with bare feet.
But other than that, I think it looks pretty sharp, right That's what it looks like when it's sitting on your steps. Let's flip it around and see how it's fastened. You can see the grommet holes right off the bat. This would be the front, that would be underneath here, the backside. And there is multiple here because as you remember we did talk about the idea that this does accommodate eight to 11 inch steps. What we have here is our plat or zinc plated springs and they are rust resistant. And we'll go ahead and push it in there real quick and show you that there's a decent amount of spring tension here. I'm not worried about it breaking off or any issues with these springs. Let's go ahead and open it up. Take a look. You're going to notice right off the bat there is a texture change. This is a synthetic harder rubberized firmer material underneath. And there's no doubt in my mind is going to help with that UV mold and mildew resistant properties of these steps and what they're known for. Let's shut that cover in, flip it around, take a look one more time. And this might necessarily not necessarily be the color for you, perhaps you don't like this bold of a color. This was an easy install. The springs on my previous step covers rusted and busted. After being on for a year, the springs still look and work great!
If these last as long as their predecessors, they’re well worth it. It took many years of active camping to wear out my last set. I recommend this product.
We like the step covers for the fact that you keep most of the mess out of the rv and the nonslip cover makes it safer on wet day's
This is our second set of step protectors. We got the first set to try and cut down on the amount of debris that is tracked into our camper. Not only did the protectors do that, they also eliminated how slick the steps were if they were the slightest bit wet. I would highly recommend them!
I like these step covers. They fit well, are easy to keep clean, and help to remove dirt and debris from shoes and feet and keep it outside. But most of all, they make it much easier for our 4-legged travel companion to go up and down the steps.
Just received these a couple days ago. They seem to be quality step rugs. I haven't had time to go to the storage lot to check the fit and install. I think these will allow my dog to use the steps easier because the metal seems to scare her.
Purchased 2 for our class A motorhome. These actually replaced the ones I previously purchased. They've lasted for 2 years. Excellent quality! I don't however use the springs it comes with. I find they are too difficult to stretch to hook into the grommet. I use black wire ties instead. Works great.

These were installed on a 2022 Winnebago View with electric steps. I was concerned that they might be too thick for proper operation of the steps. They were easy to install and the steps worked as they should. Etrailer does it again!
This a a good wide step cover. It was used to cover two 30 x 11 steps on a ‘14 Tiffin Allegro. The Outrigger was paired with 2 Prest-O-Fit landing steps that each have 2 Velcro strips to secure interior rig in place.
Stair covers were exactly what I expected, the instructions are very clear on installation, it took me roughly 15 to 20 minutes to install five stair covers and shortly thereafter, all three of our small dogs were going up and down them without any problem.
In the pictures, we did offset them to one side since when the fifth wheel door is open you don’t have access to that much of the stair so it’s actually centered for the amount of stair we walk up

The videos of the options available for the width and depth of our steps were extremely valuable. We selected the “Outrigger” version which provides a softer feel. Although the “Astro turf” style would clean better, we felt that bare feet would appreciate the less aggressive texture. The fit and finish of the product is spot on. In order to get a straight pull on the tension securing springs with an 11” step depth, the grommets face outward on the edge of the step. This is not a problem for us although it is worth mentioning.
