Optronics RVILL34 LED Interior RV Light Dimensions

Raw Lumens vs. Effective Lumens

Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. This light has a 920 raw lumen capacity and produces 815 effective lumens.

Video Transcript for Optronics LED RV Interior Light Review

Today in our cabin, we will be replacing our old incandescent lights with the new Optronics's LED RV interior light, part number RVILL34. Now I'm here inside the camper with our old lights, and as you can see, they're all incandescent. Let's go ahead and change them out. Now with our new LED lights installed, you can see the difference. These long lasting LED lights are a great replacement for incandescent lights. They are more efficient, brighter, and there are no bulbs to replace.

They are a surface mounted double light with 18 LEDs. Optronics offers a lifetime warranty on the LEDs themselves. Now we are replacing four lights here today, so we're going to go ahead and show you this one on camera. This light's pretty easy. We're just going to undo the lenses, pull them away.

This is going to reveal our mounting hardware, so let's go ahead and take that off. Now to work safely, we've gone ahead and powered down our camper, so we're going to go ahead and loosen up our wire nuts. And then we'll remove our old light. Then we can grab our new LED interior light. The light does come pre-stripped, so we can just take off the ends. Then we'll just inaudible 00:01:35 our ground.

Then we'll grab our existing wire nut, put that back in place, and we'll go black to red for our power. Now that we've got it hooked up, I've gone ahead and powered up my camper. We want to make sure the light works before we mount it. And there we go. Now we can go ahead and remove our lens. It doesn't require any tools to do so, so you don't want to try and pry it off.

All you need to do is apply a little bit of pressure and slide it outwards. Now let's tuck our wires up back where they were. Then we can line up our holes. Now, it doesn't come with hardware, so we use my existing hardware. All right, perfect. Now we can put our lenses back on, and then we're done. That's going to complete our look and install. The Optronics's LED RV interior light, part number RVILL34.

Really nice looking light, haven’t installed them in my enclosed snowmobile trailer yet but I’m sure they’ll work great. They were shipped very quickly, etrailer is a great place to purchase things for your trailer needs. A+! 565243

Product arrived on time, but it didn't come with any mounting screws or instructions. Fortunately, 12v wiring is pretty simple (black to power and white to ground). I installed three lights, and they are reasonably bright, but I will likely add at least two or three more to properly illuminate my 8.5 x 28 v-nose toy-hauler. Figure about 4-6 feet per light for adequate illumination, depending on your needs and the color of your ceiling and walls. The lights work exactly as advertised, but you should know they cast a fluorescent type of light (like your working in a shop). If you want a warm living room type of light, this product may not be your best choice. 569717

This is an incredible light for the price. I can't believe the output (lumens) for the money. It is well built and hopefully will last for years. 575958

The best led lights ever. Very bright, great for reading, doing puzzles, or whatever. Not the same size as your original, I bought some plastic plugs from Hobby Lobby to fill holes that exposed on my ceiling. Looks good. Easy installation snip 2 wires, scotch clip the the white @ black wires, turn on the power. Perfection 465806

Just as bright if not more bright than the lights these replaced. The lens were a bit hard to get off in order to mount, but at least I know they won't fall off going down the road! 170744

Hi, Josh M. In regards those Optronics LED dome lights, is there any trick to getting the lenses off? My lights are in the mail. Thanks, Al.

I let the lights warm up in the house for a while. On the lens there are small notches on each side. I put the end of a small wooden dowel in the notch and hit the other end of the dowel with my palm. Once on each side did it. Hope this helps.

I changed out 7 double and 5 single lights to these LED lights in our 2009 Wildwood Bunkhouse. They are excellent lights and nicely brighter than the originals (many of which were beginning to melt the lenses). I noted in the reviews of the trouble getting the lenses off for mounting. I had all 19 lenses off in less than 5 minutes. Very simple. Just used a small wooden dowel (diameter of a pencil) with the end shapped square and placed in the small notch in the lense and gave a firm tap with a small hammer. Tap one side then the other and they are off. I rigged up a stop for the light on the camper table but could have used a shallow drawer or some such. 555094

Lights have worked out great. The battery power supply fan never turns of now, but did originally when about 4 old lights were on. I am thinking of replacing the last two, that I thought last year would not be used much.

These things are awesome !!! Installed 2 of these in my 12 ft. cargo trailer. It's like daylight in there now! I liked them so much I'm ordering 7 more for my camper. If you haven't made the switch to LED lighting, it's time. They put out a lot better light, generate less heat, and use less power. I think they are well worth the money. 283260

Switching from incondescent interior RV lighting to led lighting is brighter more even light and draws much less electricity off your house battery these LED lights are easy to install I ordered 6 doubles and 4 singles for my 1995 Ford e350 23 ft Thor four winds 23sc the double LED fixtures require 8 screws each while the single LED fixtures require 4 screws just attach the black wire on the light fixture to the black wire coming from your ceiling and attach white wire to white wire and protect both wiring connections and then screw the light fixture to the ceiling and turn it on and enjoy your new LED lighting that purchased from etrailer.com 346915

These LED lights are amazing. I replaced the regular lights in a 2012 trailer that were also Optronics lights. A substantial increase in intensity and the light is white not the yellowish of the old bulbs. A real plus was the light footprints (both single and double) matched the replaced lights exactly down to the placement of the screw holes! If you wanted even brighter lights the lenses from the old, with a slight prism effect in the plastic, could be used. The lights arrived quicker than I expected. The only slight negative is there were no screws included with the fixtures and the screws from the old lights were too short (by a quarter inch) to hold effectively. What a great way to upgrade an older trailer with efficient and never-need-to-replace bulbs. Great products, great company. Thanks etrailer! 478421

Got my order of Optronics RVILL34 LED light fixtures very quickly and on time. This LED light fixture was an exact size replacement for my RV's Incandescent Double Dome Lights. Mounting holes were in the same locations, making installation easy. I added a small Tie wrap around all the wires underneath to help hold them together and to provide some strain relief while installing. White wires were connected to RV white wires and black wires were connected to RV black wires, further making installation quick and easy. I used two 3M Scotcklok insulated connectors to connect the wires together. Everything was completed without problems in a short time. The installed light fixtures look great and provide plenty of light. I am very happy with this product. 279647

  • Best Interior Dome Light for an Enclosed Trailer
If you are looking for an interior light to use in your 7x14 enclosed trailer I recommend taking a look at the Buyers Products LED Dome Light. I have had a chance to inspect these lights and they are extremely high quality. The metal backing plate and the lens face have a very durable and well made feel to them. They are also LED so they put out more light (2,200 lumens) and drawn less power (1.5 amps). External Wall Switch: part # 3375625336 Internal On/Off Switch: part # 3375625337 Motion...

  • 12V LED Lights for Inside a Cargo Trailer
There are many 12V LED lights which are available for the inside of a cargo trailer. The thing about LED lights, however, is that you are never going to have to pull a light out of the socket and replace it with a new one. For example, the Optronics # RVILL34 is a surface-mounted LED light with 18 diodes, which is what provides the light. They last very long with just 0.6 amps of power draw and a lifetime warranty for the lights. You can see how bright the lights are by the photo I've added....

  • How are Interior Lights of Trailer Typically Wired
We can definitely help get you going in the right direction with how to do the wiring as well as parts you may need. For the most part on the trailer it will be running a power wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) to all of the light assemblies and then another wire for the ground. Usually you can use just one wire as a feed wire from the 12 volt pin of your trailer connector and from there branch out to each of the assemblies as needed. A better option would be installing...

I've attached a video that shows 3 of these lighting up an RV so you have a reference. Each light only draws 0.6 amps at 12.8 volts. So you will have lots of time without draining your truck battery. • LED Interior Trailer Light Recommendation for Enclosed Trailer
LED interior lights can be pretty easily installed on your trailer that will be powered by the trailer connector's 12 volt power circuit. As long as your trailer is you might go with at least two depending on how bright you need it to be. The 12 volt power circuit of your 7-way is the 1:00 position of the 7-way.
