Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the RC Manufacturing Replacement Compression Latch. This is going to replace one damaged latch for your RC Manufacturing underbody truck or trailer toolbox. This is an RC Manufacturing replacement, so you can trust it's going to fit right onto your toolbox. You're not going to have to worry about compatibility issues, or anything like that. So, this handle is going to cause this knob to come forward, like so.
We are going to give you two keys so that you can lock that in place. You don't have to worry about anyone coming along and opening up your toolbox. All your tools will be safe in your truck or trailer. Should be very easy to get this switched out in place of the original, so that your toolbox will be accessible again, and will have that locking capability once more. So that's going to complete our look at the RC Manufacturing Replacement Compression Latch.

I searched all over for a replacement latch for my toolbox. The company that made the box originally went out of business, so figuring out a replacement handle when mine broke has been a headache. I tried this one and it was an exact fit and works great! Unfortunately, all I really needed was the cam lock part, but no one seems to make just that part. So, a person has to buy the complete lock. And, from what I am reading, several people just need the same part I need, as it breaks often. It would be nice to just be able to buy the parts. Since I couldn't, I am glad etrailer carries this. Etrailer was super-fast shipping and easy to work with. We have ordered from etrailer in the past and will do so again.

Latches are made much cheaper than they used to be. Between the 4 boxes we usually have to replace about 4-5 latches a year. They always break in the same spot where there is a week point.

This was an odd lock we couldn't find locally. Found it here at etrailer ordered it, quick delivery every thing was an open book with tracking and everything. No problems at all. Latch and lock fit our tool box perfectly.

I ordered and paid for the part to be arrive 02/13 but for whatever reason it didn't and put our company in a bad spot However when I emailed Lauren she immediately called me and took care of the issue and I received the product today 02/14. The ordering process was easy and the customer service is great the reason for the 3-Stars was due to not receiving the product when needed. I forgot to mentioned Lauren did is an apology and refunded the fee.

Currently we only carry the Replacement Compression Latch # 313-8-325-281 as an assembly for the RC Manufacturing Z-Series Truck or Trailer Underbody Tool Box # UB1818-36. We will not have just a replacement key cylinder for the latch.

- Replacement Latch for Dodge Service Body TruckThe Replacement Compression Latch for RC Manufacturing Underbody Truck or Trailer Tool Box part # 313-8-325-281 would appear to be the best replacement option for your tool box handle based on the photos. The handle measures 5-1/2" wide and 6" tall which you can see in the attached photo. It's expected that there may be some slight modifications required for fitment but this is pretty much going to be unavoidable as there isn't any sort of record for this to obtain an exact replacement.

That cam part on the Replacement Compression Latch # 313-8-325-281 unfortunately isn't something that the industry makes - for whatever reason these compression latches are only available as a whole kit even though from what I'm seeing that cam is a pretty consistent problem regardless of who the manufacturer is.
