Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Hot Rod six gallon universal probe. This unit replaces the heating element in the Hot Rod conversion kit for six gallon water heaters. It's simply used to electrically heat water in your RV. Replacement's pretty easy. You simply remove the old probe and install this new one the same way. You will want to apply some Teflon tape to the threads right here before installing the new probe, and then you simply use a socket or wrench to tighten the probe into position.
And then right here is where you connect the power cord. It simply connects to the two pin connector. The probe length from the bottom of the threaded portion to the end of the probe is 4 9/16 inches long, and that probe has a diameter of 3/8 of an inch. It's made from durable construction, has protective coatings on it, so that way you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion, and again, this is a unit that replaces the heating element and the Hot Rod conversion kit for six gallon water heaters.
Seemed to work fine for about a year, but mechanically failed when we tried to pull it out to winterize RV. Design could definitely be better, which would have saved me ~$75 on this replacement element. Otherwise, it's a good product.

Great, still working fine.
My propane water heater quit working and I couldn’t repair it. I switched over to electric. Eventually I had to replace the heating element and it continues to work well.
Slight delay in coming from the manufacturer from great service from eTrailer as usual.
