Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Replacement Left-Side Ratchet Winch for the Demco KarKaddy 3, KarKaddy SS, and the KarKaddy X Tow Dolly. So, folks, again, this is the replacement left side. We do carry the right side separately. That's item number DM5433 if you need the right side. They literally look identical except for the only difference is like a mirrored image of the other one.
So, again, this is for the left-hand side. And again, it works with the KarKaddy 3 Tow Dollies, KarKaddy SS Tow Dollies, or the KarKaddy X Tow Dollies, respectively. And as you can see from the image, this secures the wheel tie-down on the dolly frame. Again, you get one, quantity one. You see the slot in here where the strap will go.
You got the pin here and the cable for locking everything down once you get exactly where you need it, strap down just for extra security. And again, this is the left-hand side, quantity one. put these on a 30 year old used tow dolly WOW what a breeze... one bolt out slide off slide new in replace bolts... and off ya go...

The new ones are smaller on the front side next to the dolly, not as thick, and that makes them loose, but hopping they will stay in when they are turned on with a car on board! The ratchet seems to work well.
Poor build and design. Ratches are flimsy and difficult to release. I've replaced these twice now.
The item was ordered and received in 24 hours It took about 10 min to replace the old unit with the new unit. A little WD 40 on the bolt / over night waiting on the new ratchet. The new engineering on the ratchet make it much easier to work . Thank you for quick service, and email updates on delivery in real time. We were leaving on a trip with the dolly this weekend, we didn’t put it off for the lack of working ratchet. The small amount of extra money spent on overnight shipping kept us on schedule. I would like to write a review on the customer service of etrailer . I had a problem with a left ratchets on the demco trailer. I looked in the reviews if others had this problem in the reviews, and couldn’t find any documentation. I purchased a right and a left ratchets a year ago. I contacted etrailer about the problem and their Customer service rep: handle the problem working with Demco . This was old fashions service and very much appreciated.
It was great to find the right product with the correct part number and an explanation of which number went on which side of my dolly. Shipping was fast, the parts were perfect, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you for a great transaction.
Took awhile to get but etrailer warned me of that upfront. Gave me timely updates until straps were delivered. Straps were just what was described and matched old ones exactly. Have used this company before and will continue to.
Exactly the part I ordered. High quality. Old winch was damaged on road. Removed bolt which allowed damaged winch to be removed and new winch installed. Add on new strap and back to towing my car behind RV. RV and tow dolly parts etrailer has been spot on!

I contacted e trailer on this DM5432 left side ratchet. Only using the product 3 time the pin that holds the long handle and gear fell out on the last trip. I was told it was not under warranty to contact the Demco. I can’t believe maybe the pin wasn’t in right manufacturing process. You cannot buy that handle, a new left side must be purchased plus shipping. I bought at the time the right side and left side only the left side let go. I am want to be clear this is not the paw. I would understand that happening.
