Today we're going to be taking a look at Demco's loading winch for the Demco KarKaddy tow dolly. This is going to be an excellent upgrade for your KarKaddy. If you are towing any vehicles that are immobilized, that can't drive up on it themselves or if you have to remove the drive shaft from your vehicle then you do it before you put it on your KarKaddy.When you're ready to use it simply push the release lever to allow you to pull it out and then take the hook and attach it to your frame. Or if you have tow hooks available use your tow hooks. After you've got it hooked up you'll want to crank it up until you've got tension on it and then you'll place your vehicle in neutral.Now, it's a good idea to have somebody in the vehicle to guide the steering wheel because you have it in neutral so it will not lock. So you want to make sure you come on your ramps properly.
So we've got somebody in there so we just start cranking up. Now that we're nice and tight we can put our vehicle back in park and then we can begin disconnecting our winch.With the vehicle in park and the parking brake set we can now release our strap and disconnect it from the vehicle. You're now ready to hook up your vehicle to your KarKaddy like you would normally. The strap coming out of our winch measures 15 feet long so that will be plenty to extend beyond your KarKaddy. It has a maximum capacity of 1400 pounds.Now you might be thinking 1400 pounds is a lot less than the weight of my vehicle and you're right but you're not lifting the vehicle off the ground.
You're simply rolling it so that's going to be ample for many large vehicles. The which itself is a solid-steel construction and it's matched with a durable woven strap. There's some minor assembly required.
