When determining left or right side on the Demco 5432- left or the 5433- right is this done standing at the front of the trailer looking toward the back?

The correct side is determined like a vehicle, with the left side being the driver side, and the right side being the passenger side.
If you are needing to replace the driver side ratchet on your Demco Kar Kaddy 3 you would need the Replacement Left Side Ratchet Winch for Demco Kar Kaddy 3 Tow Dolly # DM5432, and if you need the passenger side ratchet you will need the # DM5433 instead.
