Today we'll be reviewing part #CAM59913. This is the Camco propane hose assembly. This is going to measure 3 feet in length. This hose is going to let you connect a propane appliance to an existing gas supply. This is for use with an appliance that has a 3/8-inch male flare connection. The female flare connectors are located on each end of the hose to easily connect to a gas supply and appliance.

The fittings are made of brass and they are going to be rust and corrosion resistant. That's going to complete today's review of part #CAM59913. This is the Camco propane hose assembly measuring 3 feet in length. .

What Size Propane Hose Do I Need to Use
The diameter of propane hose you need is going to depend on two factors which is the length of the hose and btu rating of the appliance. I have attached a chart for you which will allow you to determine if the 1/4" diameter hose on the Camco Propane Hose Assembly part # CAM59913 will be sufficient for you needs.

I spoke with my contact at Camco about the Camco Propane Hose Assembly, part # CAM59913 at one point, and they told me that this will handle high pressure un-regulated gas, so it would be considered a high pressure hose. As long as the fittings on your heater are 3/8 inch flare fitting this hose would work well for you. Check out the video I attached.

Is Teflon Tape Needed for Connecting the 3' Camco Hose # CAM59913 with Flare Fittings
Since the Camco Propane Hose Assembly # CAM59913 that you referenced has flare fittings, Teflon tape is not needed. The flare is designed in such a way that it seals the connection just like tape or a seal would. The 3/8" Female Flare connections make the 3' hose perfect for hooking up an appliance to your gas supply provided it has a 3/8" male flare connection. This hose has a max flow capacity of 200,000 Btu.

As long as the fitting on your fire pit is a 3/8 inch flare fitting, the Camco Propane Hose Assembly # CAM59913 will work very nicely. This 3 foot hose has a 3/8 inch female flare connectors on each end that will connect to your gas supply and fire pit. It is a high pressure hose so it will work well for your application. Should Tape be Used to Seal Fittings on the Camco Propane Hose Assembly # CAM59913
Since the Camco Propane Hose Assembly # CAM59913 that you referenced has flare fittings on either end, teflon tape is not required. If you want to use it you can, but it will not do very much for this application like it would for a fitting that is not a quick disconnect (which doesn't require the use of teflon tape) or a flare.

We do have a longer hose that uses a 3/8" Female Flare x 3/8" Female Flare like the 3' long Camco Propane Hose Assembly # CAM59913. MB Sutrgis has their part # 100041-144-MBS which has the same 3/8" Female Flare x 3/8" Female Flare connections but is comes with 12' of hose.

Shortest Propane Hose with 3/8" Female Flare Fittings on Both Ends
The 3 foot long hose # CAM59913 is the shortest option available that has 3/8 inch female flare fittings on both ends. If you leave it "coiled" with zip ties it would be about 18 inches long. And, should you need the additional length for any reason you will have another 18 inches to work with.

We do have a 12 foot version of the 3 foot Camco Propane Hose Assembly # CAM59913 that you referenced. The MB Sturgis Propane Hose # 100041-144-MBS has the same 3/8" Female Flare x 3/8" Female Flare Swivel fittings as the Camco assembly that you referenced but it comes with 12 feet of hose.

Recommended Dual Quick Connect Propane Hose For Grill To Attach To RV
We do not offer propane hoses that would be the length you are asking about. One consideration for a hose that long is safety and the possibility that the distance could put the hose in harms way. I called my contact at Sturgis and they told me that 12-ft is pushing it for the length of a hose you would be able to effectively use for a grill attached to your RV.
