The Yakima OutPost HD Ladder Rack is made for serious hauling. It supports up to 500 lbs on-road and 300 lbs off-road, so it’s not just for light gear. You can load up ladders, lumber, kayaks, or even a rooftop tent without worrying about stability. The fixed mid-height position of 13" above the tracks keeps your center of gravity low, which helps with balance and makes gear easier to reach when loading or unloading.
This heavy-duty rack mounts directly to 60" tracks that can be installed on camper shells, truck bed rails, trailers, or other flat surfaces. The tracks come with endcaps and mounting hardware, and while drilling is required, they give you a solid, customizable foundation for all kinds of setups. Once mounted, the rack’s QuickChange system makes it simple to remove or reinstall when you need the truck bed clear.
Every upright and crossbar includes T-slots and accessory channels, so you can attach gear exactly where you need it. Mount off-road lights, load stops, paddle holders, or a ladder roller in the top channels, or use the bottom channels for eye bolts or extra tie-down points. The 78" long crossbars have rubberized strips in the top channels to cut wind noise and drag, and they work with most Yakima channel-mount and clamp-on accessories—including bike racks, kayak carriers, and rooftop tents.
The OutPost HD is made from sturdy aluminum with a black powder coat finish that’s both rustproof and tough enough for the elements. Built-in tie-down points on the uprights and endcaps make it easy to secure cargo, while etched measurements on the bars help you center everything perfectly. It’s the kind of rack that can handle daily work use and weekend overlanding without showing wear.
BedGrip clamps hold the uprights securely to most common truck bed rails, and the Same Key System (SKS) lock cores keep everything locked in place. The lock cores can be swapped out so all your Yakima gear uses the same key. And when the workday is done, the signature built-in bottle openers are right there to help you relax.

Rack system works very good. Easy to take off and on my F150. Wish it was more adjustable to lower the system a few inches. Also because of the bed formation cannot place anywhere on the bed. Overall it is stable and rides well
Thanks etrailer for the help in getting this! Couldn't find the Tonneau adapter in stock anywhere. Thankfully etrailer let me place an order and they tracked down the part for me. GREAT communication by the etrailer customer support team keeping me updated on the status of this order. It took a while due to delays from Yakima, but it's now installed and I'm very happy.
The products durability is great. Find the right height for my truck was more challenging. I wish I had not gotten this particular product. Doesn’t go above my truck bed cab.

Great rack system for tonneau cover with rail system. Easy install and very well made, the only down side is when you order the system for the tonneau cover you also get all the hardware for non tonneau cover trucks. Excessive amount of expensive hardware you’ll never use with your tonneau cover installed

After researching many truck racks I decided to purchase this one. The staff at etrailer were very helpful and friendly . The product arrived on schedule with no problems. The installation was fairly easy straightforward. I must say that I made the right decision in choosing this product as the quality is very good. Once I got it installed it was rock solid. The following week I made a 600 plus miles trip to the mountains with a Thule cargo box installed on it and had zero problems. I would check it whenever I stopped to make sure it was still secure and it remained rock solid with no issues. I am very satisfied with this Yakima rack and would highly recommended it. I also recommend etrailer for doing business with. They followed up with me on my purchase to see if I was satisfied or had any problems. I will do business with them again!
