Thule T2 Pro

The Thule T2 Pro XTB platform-style bike rack lets you carry 4 bikes using your vehicle's hitch. It is designed to carry bicycles of varying sizes and styles, and it can hold bikes with fat tires up to 5" wide. The bike trays adjust to optimize bike spacing and reduce bike-to-bike contact. The ratcheting arms and wheel trays secure your bikes by the wheels so there's no frame contact. The rack installs easily without the need of tools with the AutoAttach system. And the front-mounted HitchSwitch lever allows the rack to easily tilt down with bikes loaded for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area and fold up when not in use. Finally, the rack includes One-Key System lock cylinders to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.

Wheel-Mount Design for Easy Bike Loading

Thule T2 Pro ratcheting arms

The rack allows you to quickly and easily load and carry 4 bicycles on the back of your vehicle. The ratcheting arms securely hold your bikes by the front wheels so there's no frame contact. Simply push the button on the hook and slide it firmly into place over your front wheel.

Thule T2 Pro

The wheel hook also has a cutout on the side so it won't interfere with fat bike suspensions.

Sliding Rear-Wheel Cradles

Thule T2 Pro sliding rear-wheel cradles

The sliding rear-wheel cradles allow the rack to accommodate bikes with wheelbases up to 50-1/2" long, and they accommodate tires up to 5" wide. The cradles include ratcheting, rubber straps to hold your bikes' rear wheels securely in place on the tray.

Thule T2 Pro sliding rear-wheel cradles for fat bikes

For fat bikes, the strap needs to be removed from the bottom of the cradle and re-routed up through the side. This increases the usable length of the strap to secure wider tires.

Adjustable Bike Trays

Thule T2 Pro rear wheel cradles

The front and back bike trays adjust 3" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just loosen the 4 bolts where the tray attaches to the bottom of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then tighten the bolts. This will prevent your bikes' handlebars from becoming tangled, and it eliminates the fear of bike-to-bike contact during transport.

Front-Mounted HitchSwitch for Easy Tilting

Thule T2 Pro

The front-mounted HitchSwitch lever allows one person to easily tilt the T2 Pro XTB. The rack tilts down with or without bikes loaded for convenient access to your vehicle's rear cargo area.

Thule T2 Pro

The lever also lets you fold the rack up for storage when you're not transporting a bike. This is great for parking in places where space is limited such as a parking garage.

Easy Installation with AutoAttach System

Thule T2 Pro installation

The T2 Pro XTB installs quickly and easily with the AutoAttach system. Simply open the Auto Pin, slide the shank into your receiver, and close the pin so it slides through the pin hole and shank.

Once installed, turn the hand knob underneath the rack to tighten the shank in your receiver. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

Complete Security

Thule T2 Pro locking system

The rack comes with One-Key System lock cylinders to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. Integrated cable locks extend from the ends of the wheel hooks and wrap around your bikes' frames to lock them to the rack.

Thule T2 Pro locking system knob

The hand knob also comes with a lock cylinder to keep the rack from being removed from your hitch. One-Key System cylinders can be swapped out to make all of your Thule gear keyed alike.

Ok, I know it may seem expensive, but this rack is great. (When you figure your carrying close to 10 grand in bikes it's worth the piece of mind.) Carries all of our family bikes, from two 29ers, a 26 inch and the boys 20 inch bike with simple adjustments. In fact I switch from kids bikes to all 29ers all the time. No more stopping on the side of the road to adjust bikes on a frame rack. Bikes on and off the rack in seconds. Only drawback is the rack itself is heavy. 585726

This bike rack is extremely sturdy. Even when driving on rough roads or over bumps you don‘t have to worry about anything rattling or falling off. It is easy to use and handles any size bike. On the downside the rack is quite heavy so can be hard to put on or take off for short people. Also the rear tire straps are too short for fat tire bikes. Installing and taking off the add-on can be a chore and is not something you want to do every day. 615893

Made very well, beefy and sturdy. Good direction for the ease of assembly. Love the lock for the hitch as well as the individual bikes. The price is high however the quality is higher! I can’t ever imagine I will buy another bike carrier. Fast shipping and great communication from the company. 695465

Excellent product. Install was simple. No written instructions. Just pics. Use all of the bolts when you put the extension on, my buddy brought the same rack and only put two screws in the bottom side. Drove over 700 miles Like that with 3 bikes and no failure... Impressive The Allen screws strip easily so don't over tighten with power tools. Holding the bikes with no touching was a breeze. Looked at this as a life time investment. Will never have to buy another rack based on what i.e. Seen so far. Loads bikes quickly. Tilts down and allows plenty of room for loading up the Honda Odessy. Although I wouldnt make it a habit due to the weight when loaded...it's heavy..Does drag just a touch on inclines when the van is fully load..4 bikes.. 4 people and cargo for a week trip. Can't complain about that. Van drove like it was nothing on the back when loaded..does add 5 feet in length. You'll need two parking spots at rest stops. 563151

Product has seen only a few trips, two during the winter months and one of them saw substantial rain fall in the southern US. The other seen snow/ice in the Northern US. All total, used this 3 weeks out of the past 12 months. Product is well put together and holding up well, except the racket teeth for the bike straps are starting to break down already. One of them had teeth break already. Overall though, considering it is riding behind a large RV ,the movement of the bikes is minimal and never has ever loosened up. 763366

Wow. This was a great transaction. This item is built like a tank and I am so happy I won't have to lift my bikes onto the roof of my car anymore. 745486

Main structure is very good, the add on for 2 more bikes is hard to put on. 727372

Using it on a regular basis on the back of my RV. Mostly carrying my electric bikes but occasionally mountain bikes. Ruggedly built and have had no issues while transporting the bikes all over the Western USA in all kinds of weather. Not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for ! Would buy again. 693847

Excellent quality rack. Had to reorder as my wife backed the original one in to a gas station pole. So ordered a new one and got the 2-bike extension as well. Heavy, sturdy, and high quality. The instructions are pictures only, no words. For the main rack they are okay, for the extension they are a bit fuzzy on removing the handle for transfer to the end of the extension. Essentially you unscrew the middle screw until it feels disengaged. You can't see since it's internal and the screw does not come out. Then removing the screws on the sides releases the handle. They try to picture how to position the screw before putting the handle on which is where it could use some words or better pictures. Basically it needs positioned to both clear the handle house and the tab in the handle where the center screw will attach to. So really trying to hid the screw as much as possible in the block that it's in. It makes sense once you have it apart. Rack is easy to insert and remove from the hitch but maybe a little awkward and heavy for some ladies. Love this rack! 522972

We love this bike rack! It is sturdy and roomy! The only downside is finding a place to store it when it is not on the car. 400115

Review from a similar T2 Pro XT in Hitch Bike Racks

I was hesitant to spend almost $500 on a bike rack, but it was worth it. I've used trunk bike racks for years, which take a long time to mount and dismount, and I'm never comfortable on the highway with them. This rack is NOT like that. It's solid as a rock, easy to use, and I didn't worry for one second about my bikes driving on the I-95 corridor yesterday and today. The only downside to this rack, as a previous reviewer pointed out, is that the assembly instructions, which are only pictures, are frustrating and funny all at the same time. I watched a video online on the assembly and it was very easy with that help, but I'm not sure I would have figured it out solely on the instructions in the box. But even then, I had it assembled and on my 2018 Highlander with the bikes in about an hour. The hitch mount is superb - the "snugging" knob has the dual function of removing an movement of the rack in the hitch AND it locks, so that once it's tightened up in the hitch, it can't be removed. The rack itself is very solid and handles my wife's 50-pound electric bike with no problem. I put my road bike on with it, which is an easy fit. I haven't tried my MTB, but the rack is so adjustable that I can't imagine there will be a problem. Thanks to this rack, my wife went on a bike ride with me this morning for the first time in years because we were able to go to a nice trail (she doesn't like to ride on the streets around our neighborhood. I also tried out the cable locks this morning and they are very easy to use and a nice added feature. Some previous reviewers complain that the cables aren't very secure, but they seem pretty solid to me; certainly enough of a deterrent to prevent a quick snag by a thief walking by the vehicle. Best of all, this was the best price on this rack that I found anywhere on the internet! I purchased my hitch from etrailer and this bike rack - I'm very happy with both. 646818

Totally worth the money. I use this rack pretty regularly as I like to try new riding routes, rather than always ride from home. I dont have any complaints. Its plenty sturdy for my wifes heavy electric bike and my bike. I love that it locks to the vehicle and has built in locks for the bikes themselves. To me, the best part is that its VERY easy to put on the vehicle and take it off. Two minutes. Seriously. I would still highly recommend this rack.

Review from a similar T2 Pro XT in Hitch Bike Racks

This is an excellent bike rack. It is easy to use, looks good, and hold the bikes very securely. No bouncing or rubbing at all. The lock cables are really handy to thwart casual thieves, but they really should be longer - it would make them easier to use. You can really only loop them through your frame front triangle. It is really easy to fold up and down with the handle on the end of the boom. The plastic locking knob to tighten the hitch to the rack is a little disappointing. It is under the vehicle and I will have to see how well it holds up to gravel spray from miles of gravel roads. It would have been nice to see metal parts in that area. You do have to assemble the rack. It is not that hard, but you do have to follow the instructions, which are good, but not great. My box/bag was missing a single washer, which I replaced with a silver one from my spare parts bin. The allen head bolts that hold the cradle and arms to the beams are very soft material, and it is easy to bung up the shallow allen head if you're not careful. In combination with the Draw-Tite hitch on my 2018 Subaru Outback, when folded up, the cradle of the inner holder is only a quarter inch or so from the end gate. It doesn't and can't actually touch, but it is close. The upside is that it folds very nicely against the back of my car, allowing me to close the garage door with the rack on and folded. And I can't even see the rack from inside the vehicle when folded. All-in-all an excellent rack. Give it some better hardware and longer lock cables and it would be nearly perfect. 440266

Review from a similar T2 Pro XT in Hitch Bike Racks

Simply said: I love it! After a car accident damaged the 1st Thule bike rack I purchased through eTrailer I bought this one. The videos on their website to help choose are informative and helpful. I have a Jeep and keep it installed. It is easy to let down and load by bikes which is easy on my back. I love the ability to tilt it with my bikes loaded to open the rear hatch/door. My Jeep is silver and the silver bike rack is sooo cute!! 757034

Review from a similar T2 Pro XT in Hitch Bike Racks

Love this rack! We have logged thousands of driving miles in the last year while taking our bikes to various rallies. We upgraded to this rack from a yakima hanging rack. I much prefer supporting bikes from the bottom which avoids any potential issues with cable stretch and bikes knocking into each other. This rack also provides much better visibility when driving (both unloaded and loaded). 561865

Review from a similar T2 Pro XT in Hitch Bike Racks

I Purchase of the 2018 Thule TR Pro with the Black Finish. I am very impressed with the overall design and stout construction. This is my first bicycle Rack that I have ever purchased. I assembled the Rack after installed the rack frame to the hitch of my 2018 Toyota Tacoma. I was VERY impressed with the internal locking system after placing the rack into the 2" x 2" hitch. After assembly I then loaded our Two BICYCLES . With the rack loaded with our two adult bicycles and temporarily lowered to the 4 or 8 o'clock position; and the inside Bicycle pedal in the 12 o'clock position. I am free to lower the tailgate of the pick-up and gain access to the covered truck bed of my Tacoma. The loading of the bicycles seems relatively easy. Just for an added level of load security I am going to incorporate a lower security strap to the front wheel hitches supporting baskets. And take the tail end of the strap and do a quick "Hitch" to the "Sheppard's Crook" that locks down at the top of the front wheel. Looking forward to some new places to Ride. Regular "free Shipping was fine to my home in 3 working days + the weekend. 509768

Review from a similar T2 Pro XT in Hitch Bike Racks

I am very happy with this bike rack. Bicycles load and unload easily and quickly, and feel very secure. The cable-lock on the front arm is nice, but as it only secures the front wheel, I use additional bike locks if security is an issue. The bike rack itself is very secure and I like the way it locks in place as well. I also purchased two Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch, Code numbers 78690 and 75225. One is for a 2017 Honda Pilot, and the other is for a 2005 Honda CRV. All items were received in less than a week. Installation was a breeze on the Pilot, as there are nuts already welded in the frame to receive the hitch. The installation on the CRV was more complicated because there are no such nuts, and the muffler is in the way. The online instructional videos are excellent, and well worth viewing--especially for the CRV. Since I don't have a cold chisel, I used a small Dremmel grinder to enlarge the hole. I was looking for a hitch that would work on both cars and a motorhome, and this is excellent. I toggled through several on the web site and settled on this one because, even though it cost more, it would more simple to raise and lower by all family members to gain access to the back of the car with bikes in place. My only complaint is that it is not really compatible with the older CRV with the wheel mounted on the back of the car. It is perfectly fine with bikes mounted, but the larger front wheel basket on this rack does not clear the spare wheel on the right side when folded up. A front wheel basket with less of a profile might work. I also considered cutting off the interfering part of the basket so that it could fold up to the locked position, but I don't know how important that part is. I will use the rack for awhile first. 554081

Comments
Still working well. I see that I made an error about half way through the review. I meant to say that I was looking for a bike rack rather than hitch that would work on both cars....

Review from a similar T2 Pro XT in Hitch Bike Racks

I purchased an Ecohitch Class III hitch, and Thule T2Pro XTB bike platform for my 2017 Subaru Outback Limited. I did the entire assembly and installation in about 3 hours, one afternoon, with very limited assistance from my wife. The hardest part of the entire process was figuring out how to disconnect the connector for the backup sensors, and cutting the hole for the hitch receiver in the bumper fascia. The video was absolutely priceless to show how the little plastic pieces held the fascia together, and how they could be detached. I think that I might buy some new ones because they are not quite as tight when installed the second time. It was not clear from the Thule instructions, but it is helpful to have the hitch installed before putting the bike platform together, because the hitch can get the platform up in the air, and make the assembly a lot easier. I also found that the security cable was could be lengthened a bit, but it still fit, once I figured that the plastic piece was intended to be detached from the arm when it was serving as a lock. This is a very substantial structure to add to the back of the vehicle. I really like the Ecohitch, and the way that it is concealed behind the bumper. This makes it worth the extra money. The Thule is heavy, but now I don't have to lift the bikes up on top of the roof, which is difficult for us mature people with bad shoulders. And our bikes don't have a traditional top-tube, so we needed something that could hold the bikes by the wheels alone. All-in-all a good purchase, easy to install, and it looks like it will work well. I also plan to use the hitch to pull a small trailer, and it looks like that should work well, too. 476519

This is a great rack and simple to assemble. Very convenient to just throw bikes on and go. The only negative is that the box had a huge hole in it when I received it and the rack was all chipped up and scratched. I’m assuming that was caused by UPS during shipping. 653963

I just finished the installation of my new bike rack, and will take it for a long ride starting tomorrow (will provide my feedback once I am back). I just have one question: I have an extra key ; looks like an uncut key, and I cannot find any use for it. Any insights here? I do have the three locks and each one came with a key (different key number from the extra one). Not a real issue - just curious! 612952

he key blank you received is called a change key. Its used to remove the lock core if you ever wanted to change the locks. With the lock unlocked, youd the change key, and twist and pull. The core would come out. If you use the provided link, you can see how the key works.

All of the 4-bike platform-style carriers that can be converted to a 2-bike option require a tool. This is for stabilization as well as a theft deterrence. The Thule T2 Pro, part # TH9034XT-9036XT uses Allen head bolts to hold the 2-bike add-on. This bike rack has a strap to secure the rear wheel of the bike when placed on the...

  • Do Arms on Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Platform Rack Lock Into Place when Not In Use
The arms on the Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT-9036XT don't have a lock per se but they also won't move when they are down. It requires enough force to move the arms that just normal driving around cannot move the arms. I have never heard of an issue with this bike rack where the arms have moved out of position.

  • Bike Rack for 3 Adult/Childrens Bikes Which Allows Rear Cargo Access on a Toyota Highlander
The Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Platform Rack, part # TH9034XT-9036XT, that you referenced is a great option to switch between 2 and 4 bikes. The problem that some people might have is that it weighs over 100 lbs and has a length of a little over 60 inches. I do have some other similar options for you to choose from that have a lot of the same great features as the T2 XTB. The first recommendation that I have is Yakima's Dr. Tray # Y02473-02475. This is a 3 bike platform rack which has a...

  • Can Thule T2 Pro XTB Bike Rack be Used for e-Bikes with Fenders
The ratcheting hooks on the Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT-9036XT can likely be adjusted enough forward of the fender to clamp onto the front tire of your Biktrix Stunner LT since the fender doesn't look to extend too far. With that being said the hook should really be positioned as close to the handlebar post as possible for a secure connection so a better solution is going to be with a different style rack. Unfortunately the other 4-Bike racks available with the...

  • Does 4-Bike T2 Pro XT have More Space Between Bikes than Regular T2 Pro and is it Longer Overall
On the new T2 Pro 4-bike, such as # TH9034XT-9036XT (or if adding the extension to the 2-bike model) the distance between the first 2 bikes is 12-1/2 inches, between 2 and 3 it is 11 inches and between 3 and 4 it is also 11 inches. So a little bit more space than the previous model T2 Pro. On this new version the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the rack is 60-1/8 inches (20-1/2 when folded up). So it is the same as the previous version.

  • Determining Fit of Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Rack TH9034XT-9036XT on 2013 Range Rover Sport
One quick measurement will give you what you need to know to confirm a good fit for any hitch-mounted bike rack, such as the rather awesome Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT-9036XT. On your 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport just measure from its hitch pin hole rearward to the rear-most part of the vehicle, probably the back edge of the bumper cover. The linked article illustrates this simple process. The XTB's 2-inch shank will give you 7-inches of clearance when the...

  • Radwagon Electric Bike Carrier Recommendation
The Radwagon E-bike you mentioned has a fender setup so a wheel mounted bike rack like the Thule T2 XTB is not going to work since the fender would get in the way. Instead for heavier e-bikes like this with alternative style frames the best option is the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which has a higher weight capacity like needed and also has a frame clamp design that works great with the style frame of your bike. I attached a review video for more info on it as well.

One thing you'll want to note though is that even though this trailer hitch is rated for up to 350 lbs tongue weight, according to my research your Tiguan has a tongue weight rating of 220 lbs to that will be your limiting factor. Since the Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT-9036XT weighs in at 96 lbs...

  • Rise Adapter to Increase Ground Clearance of Thule T2 Pro TH9034XT-9036XT
Almost all the rise adapters we offer for a 2 inch hitch are for tow bars only, so they're not meant to handle much in the way of tongue weight. The Curt # D-192 could be used to provide a 5-3/4 inch rise. Keep in mind though, using an extender such as this will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50%. Your hitch will have a sticker or plate that lists its capacities. So, the approximately 100 lb weight of the Thule T2 Pro # TH9034XT-9036XT rack plus the weights of bikes...

You have narrowed down your choices to three really great bike racks, but between the three I recommend the Saris SuperClamp EX 4 Bike Rack # SA4026F for a few different reasons. A feature that really stands out with regards to the Saris SuperClamp design (especially when compared to its peers) is its overall length. When it's folded down for use it measures just 46 inches long from the center of the hitch pin hole on your vehicle to the furthest point of the rack. By comparison the...

  • Can Thule Access Pivot Adapter be Used with Thule T2 4-Bike Rack
The 4 bike version of the Thule T2 part # TH9034XT-9036XT weighs 96 lbs total so with the 350 lb capacity of the Thule Access Swing Away Hitch Extender # TH9037 you'd be left over with a capacity of 254 lbs for the bikes. Which means 4 bikes at 38 lbs would definitely be okay. As long as your vehicle has a solid amount of tongue weight capacity you'd be fine.

With your Curt # 13390 hitch, you can add an adapter like # D-192 (45792) but it will reduce the trailer hitch tongue weight capacity by 50%. This will not restrict your rack as the hitch is already rated for 600 lbs giving you a 300 lb capacity remaining. The T2 Pro 4 bike rack # TH9034XT-9036XT has a total weight capacity of 160 lbs and weighs 113 lbs, so you will still be under the hitch weight limit. This adapter is a great choice as it will raise your bike rack a little over...

To carry a 4-bike rack with your 2016 Mazda CX-5 Ground Touring you're going to need a trailer hitch with a 2" receiver, and for that I recommend the Curt # C13315 because we have found that the Curt hitches have better welds and a thicker powder coat which helps them to last longer. Since you have the Ground Touring model there is an underbody trim piece that will need to be permanently removed, but that is the case with all of the trailer hitches for your model. Then for a bike rack...

The best trailer hitch that is offered for your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76227. The reason that this trailer hitch is the best is because it is hidden which means only the receiver tube portion is shown (see photo) therefore you can still have the clean factory like look of your vehicle and it sits the closest to the rear edge of the bumper (2") so you can fold the Thule T2 Pro XTB 4 Bike Platform Rack part # TH9034XT-9036XT up without...

You can then purchase the T2 Pro for 2 inch hitches as part # TH9034XTS for Silver or part # TH9034XT for Black, and then the add-ons later with part # TH9036XTS for Silver or part # TH9036XT for Black.
