It's supposedly made for 2 1/2" receiver hitches and it won't hold up to a heavy duty truck. I have a tow bar rated for 1,400 tongue weight and it broke on the first use. I complained to Curt and attempted a refund and all they would do was replace it, and that took 8 months. So I compliment them for standing behind it and replacing it, but that does me no good since it's under rated for my use. I would avoid this unless your tow equipment is very light, which is unrealistic for a 2 1/2" tow bar.
The Curt Anti-Rattle hitch clamp has worked very well once installed. I could not give five stars because it is quite sensitive to get adjusted to work properly and is not convenient to remove regularly when not needing a trailer hitch on my truck. I will be removing the clamp after I have no need for the snowmobile trailer in spring. It has not been needed for the weight distribution hitch on the travel trailer. 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD.
2020 Ram 2500 21/2” receiver. Device. doesn’t fit. Not enough clearance between bumper and receiver to slide U BOLT into position I will return to etrailer. Curt or etrailer should have known this, and stated so, in the product details before selling. Put me down as a frequent, but unsatisfied etrailer customer.
Feels like cheap pot aluminum. Difficult to get tight on hitch. Not easily taken on and off.
I was installing this on a 9017 ford f250 With a 8 inch ball mount. The way the handle works I could not get the clamp to tighten enough to stop the rattle. I could only turn the handle 1/2 turns on the flat side of the handle. The only way I could make is work is to remove the handle and install using a nut and lock washer on the handle side.
Not super thrilled- after checking it going down the highway it had shifted and I was still getting jerking motion. Did not have a wrench so I had to deal with the bouncing. Super tight fit trying to screw the nuts onto the U-bolt. 3500 Ram Dually 2018
This clamp would not work on my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder with factory hitch.
Tight fit on my ram 3500 but it installed with no issues
Waiting for hardware to attach to the shank. Looks great and should be a good replacement
High quality, works well
Review from a similar Anti Rattle Hitch Clamp in Hitch Anti-Rattle
I purchased this device because it would be easy to transfer between vehicle's. It works fine for awhile, but becomes loose on long drives. Going to try adding a lock washer on the left side and see if that helps
