Question:

My 2020 Ram 2500 has a 2.5inch hitch receiver with a 2inch sleeve. The hitch itself is a 2inch 10k Equalizer. There is a lot more slop than I would like in the assembly. Do I need to get the anti-rattle device that matches the hitch size 2 or the receiver size 2.5? I am guessing the hitch, but I want to be certain. Thanks

Hey John,

You could use an anti-rattle device like the Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp for 2-1/2" Hitches # C87UR to help with the rattling but would likely still experience some since you're using a reducer sleeve. The best way to get rid of the slop would be to replace your current shank with one compatible with 2-1/2" hitches like the # EQ90-02-4900. This would bolt onto the head of your Equal-i-zer hitch and would eliminate the need for a reducer sleeve. From there you could still use the # C87UR to fully eliminate any movement/rattling.
