Features to know about

Haul Gear and Bikes Without Worry: Class III Strength and 2" Receiver

With a 3,500-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 350-lb tongue weight rating, this Curt Class III hitch is built for small trailers, campers, or loaded cargo carriers. When used with weight distribution, it bumps capacity to 4,000 lbs GTW and 400 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver works with the most common ball mounts, bike racks, and storage trays, giving you the flexibility to bring what you need for every trip.

Make the Job Simple: Bolt-On Installation with Included Hardware

This hitch uses a custom-fit, bolt-on design that lines up to existing holes in the frame, so there’s no welding required. The full hardware kit and clear instructions are included to make installation straightforward in your driveway or garage. Once mounted, the square-tube design tucks in neatly under the rear fascia for a clean look that doesn’t hang low or interfere with ground clearance.

Built to Last Through Every Season: Fully Welded Steel with Protective Finish

Precision robotic welding creates strong joints and consistent alignment throughout the frame. A gloss black powder coat is layered over a protective base coat to fight rust and keep the hitch looking sharp through years of weather exposure. The sturdy, square-tube steel construction holds up under regular towing use, whether that’s hauling a small camper or carrying a multi-bike rack to the trailhead.

Great hitch. Much easier to install than any other I've done in the past. Tucks under the bumper nicely so my wife doesn't think it's hideous on her car.

by:

Products are as described. The packaging was poorly thought out. The box it was shipped in was twice as big as it needed to be and there was nothing keeping the hitch from rolling around in the box. My trailer wiring harness was thrown in the same big box as the trailer hitch, so when the hitch bounced around in the box during shipping, it smashed the package the wiring harness came in and it’s contents came out and rolled around inside the big box. Nothing seems damaged but I haven’t had a chance to install or test any of it yet.

Good quality and fast shipping and pric ing

I Purchased this as a gift for my son-in-law. It was easy to install and he has made good use of this hitch over the past year.

by:

Decent receiver for my Subaru Tribeca which is rated for 3500 lbs max tow. Easy install and beefier than the other brand I considered. I only give 5 stars if price point is exceptional for the buyer.

Fantastic. Like new!Fantastic. Still like new!

by:

I’m very pleased with the entire process, ordered my hitch Thursday morning and it showed up two days later. Box was still in very good condition, and hitch looks to be in great condition also. Thank you E trailer.

by:

Perfect fit. Other than a small challenge trying to fish the wires through the bolt holes for the top bolts getting this hitch installed went off without a hitch.

by:

Hitch and wiring kit were easy to install and the tips and videos were a big help.

by:

took me 1hour to instal it -good idea with the fishlines, and yes you have to loosen up lower part of bumper-not remove it -i tried with it and just to tight to put it in,... harness took me 1minute-if you have foam tool box removed look in back left corner -just snaps in place and left the cable inside . part are solid, and looks good after thanks!

by:

Product was as described, fit my vehicle perfectly and was as simple to install as the video described! The biggest challenge was getting the old receiver hitch off.

by:

Everything about the order process and the customer service was truly outstanding!
I do however wish that the packaging would have been better for my hitch. It was in a huge box without any filling, and one long side of the box was nearly opened all the way. I do understand that it is a heavy metal hitch, but also think it should have been packaged better, especially since shipping companies don't handle products gently!

by:

I ordered on a Tuesday, and both parts arrived on Thursday! As soon as they arrived I received an email from customer service asking if everything came in OK and if I needed any additional questions answered. I have never installed a trailer hitch before and this was extremely easy to do. The only part that I needed help with was torquing the nuts. Other than that it was very easy and looks great. Have not yet had a chance to use, but hopefully soon. Etrailer.com was wonderful in providing a video and instructions. I think if I would have only followed the paper, I would have been confused! If you are concerned at all, ASK! They will respond. Highly recommend.

by:

Although the hitch fit my '07 Tribeca perfectly, the instructions provided seemed to deviate quite a ways from my install. The initial two bolts and spacers installed with little difficulty, and no need to remove any plastic fascias, but in order to install the bolts and spacers in the A frame it required me to remove a trapezoidal end cap from the peak of the A frame, which was held by four 12mm bolts. Once I removed that cap install proceeded smoothly. Fit and finish are great, and as a bonus my order arrived a day early. Would definitely recommend etrailer based on my experience

by:

Great customer service. They didn't have my hitch in stock (I have a very uncommon vehicle). They called me within an hour of placing the order to notify me and give me options to speed up the delivery if needed. I chose just to wait for it to arrive and them ship it with the wiring harness I ordered and it still took just over a week. Excellent company.

Quality product, easy installation and clear instructions. Very satisfied

Awesome. It was so easy to install. I have used numerous times without issue. I am also getting ready to order one for my sisters car.

by:

I havent used it to tow yet so the only thing I can talk through is the install. In all a pretty frustrating process but then anything involving being stuck under the car for the better half of an hour usually is. Keep in mind the hitch is pretty damn heavy and while I managed to fish all but one of the bolts with no problem trying to maneuver the hitch into place without the bolt pushing back into the frame was pretty tough. I kept the fish lines the bolts and threaded them through the corresponding hole in the hitch but even with that they often went back into the frame so I ended up holding this heavy chunk of metal with one arm while threading the bolt with the other hand. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and in retrospect the better thing to do would have been to use a few bungee cords to strap the hitch up allowing me to make the connections easier. The car I was installing on was a 2009 Subaru Tribeca not B9 and when I was done there was no way the connector tabs for the bumper were going back in place. You can tell from looking at it but it does pull the bumper material out of line at the bottom.

by:

Good product fairly easy to install. Packaging was bad, hitch was sent in a extremely oversized box with one of the arms sticking out of the box. Hitch was dirty, chipped, no protection in the box. Not a real issue since you don't see it anyway.

What I would recommend would be to use a rust resistant paint like Rustoleum to touch up the hitch prior to installation. It is beneficial to have the spray paint on hand as over time the hitch will develop nicks and and scratches from road debris.

by:

It arrived in 2 days. Easy install. It bolted right up w/ no problems...the videos are great.
It's advertised as not interfering with the bumper cover but I did have to trim it slightly.
This is my 2nd etrailer.com purchase. Well satisfied both times.

Haven’t used it since our Disney road trip. It’s hanging from the rafters in my shed. It’s almost like a work of art. And my OCD wants it to stay that way.

@Anthony We're talking about the Curt hitch correct?

by:

This hitch fit my 2007 Subaru Tribeca, perfectly. Installation would have been much easier if I REALLY read the very simple instructions. I used I floor jack to hold the hitch in place while installing the nuts. That's the only way I could handle it, alone.

The hitch is still working great. The finish is holding up nicely. No rust!

by:

Thank you so much for the hitch! call you ahead with UPS

by:

Works great, and went on in the time that the instructions said. Highly recommend!

by:

Seems to be very heavy duty. If the car gets totaled in a rear end crash, I think I will still be able to take the hitch off the car and put it on another one.

  • Parts Needed To Tow With a 2008 Subaru Tribeca Hitch
In order to tow the 1976 Starcraft Starmaster 6 Pop Up Camper with your 2008 Subaru Tribeca you will need a trailer hitch, trailer wiring harness, and ball mount/hitch ball. These will be the only requirements to tow the trailer but you may also be interested in a transmission cooler to help prolong the life of your vehicle's transmission. For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13046. This hitch is a custom fit so no drilling is required and it is super...

It can mount in several different orientations and has a much more advanced way of sensing deceleration so it will give you better overall braking performance. The Curt hitch, part # C11375, is designed specifically for the Scion tC. It won't fit your 2018 Toyota RAV4 hybrid but we do have hitches that will. Out of all of them I recommend the Curt Class III, part # C13406. A Class III hitch is 2 inches and has a much higher capacity than the Class I you were looking at.
