Sturdy - excellent hitch for our e-bike rack!
Ordering and delivery were great. The car dealer had some problems with installation. There were some bolts or screws that hold the body work on that were not shown in the auto manufactures manual. they somehow broke a taillight but is was covered by BMW because of their faulty documentation. That's why i didn't attempt this installation on this car. German's engineer things a little differently. However, it would not be that hard to do if you are good with working on modern snap together cars.
It is great fit for my csr and great quality. Only issue is on one bolt secures rack - wish there was a second hole.
Delivery was very quick, average instructions but with help from a YouTube video, everything went better than expected.
Was a little challenging of an install. The instructions were pretty good. Will be using for a Thule bike rack. Finished job looks great.
Just some background. I bought this product for a 2019 M550XI. Since it appears nobody had actually tried it, I was taking a chance based on some research and my dealer telling me there wasn't any difference between my vehicle and the other models that are listed as compatible with this hitch. Anyway, the installation went smoothly and it appears to be compatible with my vehicle perfectly. Installation time from start to finish and took exactly 2 hours. My advice is to watch the installation video a couple of times and have it handy along with the instructions as you install it.
I followed their instructions video and everything was exactly as described. Installation took under 2h, one person. It was a little bit overwhelming to think that had to remove 30 screws, a few clips and the bumper cover, but it was very manageable with the instructions. It was well packaged, quickly delivered, seems sturdy and it looks great on my G30. Can’t wait to get my Thule hitch bike rack to try it out!
Great trailer hitch took about an hour and half for the installation. Looks very clean on my 2022 BMW 530 x drive with only the neck showing.
