Does Trailer Hitch Receiver Interfere With Foot-Activated Trunk Opening on 2020 BMW 540i
Updated 06/28/2020 | Published 06/26/2020 >
Question:
Hello, My vehicle has the feature to open the trunk with foot actuation. Will the install of a hitch interfere with this feature? I assume it will and not a deal breaker, just want to have proper expectations.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11478 that fits your 2020 BMW 5 Series 540i may not interfere with the foot-activated opening of your trunk, though we haven't had any confirmation either way. Generally, with the foot-activated feature on different cars and SUVs, a hitch won't totally block that feature, it will just mean you have to kick your foot to either side of the receiver (as opposed to the middle). That would be the expectation I would have for this hitch as well.
I have added a link to a video install for you to take a look at of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11478.
