Get More Out of Small Hauls: Class I Strength for Light-Duty Towing

Built for everyday utility, this Curt Class I hitch delivers a 1,500 lb gross trailer weight rating and 150 lb tongue weight rating through a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening. It’s just the right setup for small trailers, lightweight campers, or cargo carriers. The fully welded steel design gives it solid strength you can count on for light towing jobs and weekend projects.

Simplify Weekend Installs: Bolt-On Mount with No Welding

The hitch uses a bolt-on installation that lines up with existing holes in the frame—no welding needed. A complete hardware kit and installation instructions come in the box so you can get it mounted using basic tools. The precision robotic welds ensure each attachment point fits cleanly, making the job smoother whether you’re installing it solo or setting it up with a helper.

Handle Weather and Road Grime: Durable Powder Coat Protection

A gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat keeps the round-tube hitch looking sharp while resisting rust and corrosion. The smooth, finished surface holds up through road spray and changing seasons, so you can leave it in place year-round without worrying about flaking or premature wear.

Ready for Everyday Accessories: Works with Drawbars and Racks

The 1-1/4" receiver pairs easily with compatible drawbars, bike racks, or small cargo carriers designed for Class I hitches. You can keep your setup simple—add a ball mount for towing or slide in a rack for extra storage capacity when you hit the road.

This trailer hitch is awesome!! It was easy to install and fits very well. The only thing is that the muffler on the STLine model hits the hitch and rattles. But, with some of exhaust tape and some bracing, the rattle is gone! I still love the hitch. It works perfectly for me! I use it for hauling bicycles.

by:

Simple, easy and quick to install... Make sure you buy aftermarket exhaust hangers as the muffler on the ST will hit the bracket..

Year later - still working great for my bike rack, no issues at all

by:

I have a 2011 Fiesta SE hatchback. I wanted to be able to mount an under-mount bike rack for our cycling trips. Based on reviews I read I assumed it would be easy to install so I only left myself one night to mount it before one of our trips! As promised, the receiver installed quickly and easily. It seems to be well designed and very well made. Had no issues with it on our first few trips out and do not expect to. The kit comes with these fish wires to help place mounting bolts and brackets through frame rails and they made it so easy. Also, instructions were very clear with pictures and excellent descriptions of steps. I had this from box on my porch to mounted on my car in less than half an hour. Also, I really like the look of the round tube rail that makes up the back of this product. It looks very sleek.

I'm excited to put this hitch receiver to use with my bike rack and a small motorcycle trailer! Having this installed on my car will give me the ability to not have to disassemble my bicycle when i want to go ride out of town, and now I'll be able to haul one of my motorcycles in a pinch, too. Everything fit just right. The hitch receiver tucks away underneath the car a lot better than i thought it would. Installation was about an hour with common tools and only one hiccup (user/installer error) that the paper instructions would've helped me avoid if i had reviewed them prior to installation. I'd recommend keeping a strong magnetic tool nearby in case you have to fish out a bolt and an adapter from the frame rail like i did. The installation instructions are clear, the installation video on the etrailer website is a huge help. My only gripe is that the muffler contacts the hitch receiver assembly occasionally during driving, even after replacing the 2 rearmost OEM muffler hangers with stiffer aftermarket hangers. this is a common and solvable issue for my car that i didnt put enough effort into avoiding prior to installation. replacing the other 2 OEM hangers will likely do the trick

by:

The hitch is well designed. I would however, like to see it about 1/2" higher so that instead of it hanging 3/4" below the bumper it would hang 1/4" below the bumper. Also I would like to see (4), instead of (2), fish wires included in the installation kit. I had to pull the fish wires off the first two screws, (they can't just be unscrewed), so that they could be reused on the last (2) screws. The wires had to be reshaped with a pliers to be used on the last (2) screws. I saw no reason to cut off part of the exhaust heat shield. It simply is not in the way. The wiring kit # C56191 was the easiest wiring kit I've ever installed. This installation was done on a 2019 Ford Fiesta Hatchback.

by:

This trailer hitch works great for towing a small trailer with my kayak behind a Ford Fiesta ST. I only had one small issue after installing it. The muffler would bang against the hitch on bumpy roads or hard turns. So I took of the rear-most muffler hanger off and went to the auto parts store and asked them if they had a hanger just like it that was half an inch longer. They found one, I installed it, and that fixed the problem.

by:

Awesome product. I have it installed on my 2017 Fiesta ST and couldn't be happier. I pull a 4x7 steel trailer with it with absolutely no issues. I have hauled a motorcycles, as well as a load of trash for the dump, and the hitch has no issues.

Very easy to install, especially if you have a muffler delete, or an aftermarket exhaust with no rear muffler.

by:

Installed on 2014 Ford Fiesta ST
Many
positives:
- Does a good job holding my bike rack
- Was easy to install
- After 1 salty michigan winter there isn't any rust showing.

The only negative is that the stock exhaust will hit against the hitch and make noise. I upgraded all of my exhaust hangers to help with this, and it did help but if i hit a bump in the road i can still hear it.
I've learned to live with it because i do like having the ability to put my bike on the back of the car.

by:

Excellent build quality and highly recommended. Coatings appear to be very durable after a year. On a 2016 Fiesta ST, it is a very tight fit with respect to the exhaust with my after-market hangers, but no rattles and solid. I was expecting to do more rental trailering, but mostly use it for a hitch mounted bicycle carrier.

Summary: high quality product at a reasonable price. Really about all you can ask for.

by:

Hitch fits great on my 2019 Fiesta ST. Only issue is that the muffler to hitch clearance is a bit tight so it will bang over bumps in the road, I’ve ordered aftermarket hangers to fix this.

Shipped faster than expected and I was able to get it installed by myself in about 30 minutes.

Tip: use a floor jack to support one side of the hitch while you align the bolts to the holes in the hitch.

I have attached an article to help with the exhaust rattling against the hitch.

by:

Great little rack that does it's job. 4/5 due to two factors, one being its maximum 150lbs rating & two for being positioned DIRECTLY behind the stock exhaust on the 2017 Fiesta ST.

We used this to driving across the country (Seattle, WA > Norfolk, VA) and it worked great, after wrapping our suitcase that was directly behind the exhaust in some heat resistant insulation. It did Melt the canvas tarp slightly but after the insulation, the suitcase was fine.

Definitely was a lifesaver for space, with three adults, a chihuahua and 17lb cat being in the car for 45 hours, over the span of 5 days.

Would recommend but ideally engineers would have caught and either stated a disclaimer in the product details, or change the position of the hitch receiver further way from the exhaust.

by:

Well made easy to install with instructions/videos.
After
installation my muffler (ST model) contacted the hitch while driving causing loud noise from the contact. I bought urethane exhaust hangers (Cobb) to replace the soft stock hangers, and everything is great.

Jeffrey profile picture

Jeffrey

The urethane exhaust hangers are still doing the job. I’ve not had any noise issues due to contact between the muffler and the hitch since installing them.

by:

this is the second hitch receiver we have bought and installed on our cars. in both cases, we used etrailer instructions and watched the youtube videos showing how to do the job. the results have been great! it makes us look like real professionals. thanks. Curt

is there any potential problems related to the chassis of the car? Im planning to use this with a bike rack for two bikes and 30 lbs each. is it to much for a small cars chasis?

This hitch has a maximum tongue weight rating of 150 pounds. It is always recommended to check the tongue weight rating (downward exerting force) of your Ford Fiesta, and make sure that you comply with the lowest rated component of the system.

we have been using our hitch for a year, and have experienced no problems. it is solid and safe.

by:

Very pleased with the hitch. Shipping was quick. The hitch was much heavier than I anticipated. Bolted right up and is sturdy and stable. I will use it mostly for a bike rack and occassionally for a small trailer. The instructions for trimming the heat shield were very unclear. I installed this on a 2011 Ford Fiesta and after a test fit I saw no reason to trim the heat shield. Hitch went right where it should. Ran wiring under side along the brake lines. All works great.

What is the heat shield?I have limited auto skills. Who normally installs these? Local Ford dealership do not do this. They would give me no reason. Are there potential problems?

Patrick B. profile picture

Patrick B.

The heat shield would be installed from the factory. Sometimes you have to trim them to allow the hitch to bolt up properly. It is not something you have to install in order to use a hitch. The instructions will have information regarding the trimming, but if they prove to be unclear, please give us a call at 1-800-298-8924.

Easy install. No issues so far. I’m also using it as a tow hook when I go to the track.

by:

Very easy to install, took me about 1hr, not more than that, great and help full instructions.

by:

Great service, shipping, and communication...price was also great. The only thing was I thought it came with a pin? No pin?

by:

The product is as described. I’m more impressed with e trailer themselves. They shipped my order fast. The hitch was packaged very well and all hardware was included.

by:

Went together easily enough, looks good, and should be good enough for what I need

by:

Good fitment, clears my Cobb exhaust. Could have purchased "elsewhere" but this is my 2nd trailer hitch bought from etrailer.com, highly recommended!

by:

This hitch fit perfectly and was fairly easy to install. Anyone with basic mechanical skills could install this hitch.

Works just great

by:

I purchased this hitch specifically for a bike rack. I was a bit nervous at first since I've never fished wired anything before. The install was extremely simple if you read the directions. I finished in less than an hour. Do recommend the stiffer exhaust hanger kit if you're intent on an ST but its fine without it.

by:

Shipping good. Price good. The way it sets almost 2 foot under the vehicle is very poorly designed. I have as much in attachments and adapters to get the ball out from under the car as I do in the hitch. Also it has the ball about 2” off the ground because of it

by:

Very solid and well made hitch for my '17 Fiesta ST. Easy to install, especially with the instructional video on YouTube on eTrailer's channel. The hitch hides away under the bumper for the most part and matches the aesthetic of the car. Works well with my Swagman bike rack.

One very important thing to note is that the muffler WILL bump around on hard turns and rough roads with the stock exhaust hanger. I didn't cut the heat shield as directed during the installation, which may be part of the issue. However, installing the Cobb exhaust hangers (see last picture), which are much stiffer than stock, resolved the issue without cutting the shield. If you have an ST, make sure to grab those as well and get it all installed at once.

  • Will a Hitch for a 2013-2017 Ford Fiesta fit a 2012 Ford Fiesta?
Good question Brandon, happy to help! The 2012 and 2013 Ford Fiesta sedans look very similar, I can't confirm that a hitch designed for the 2013-2017 sedan will fit the 2012 sedan. Hitch fitment is determined by the mounting points on the vehicle's frame and even small changes between model years can affect compatibility. We always recommend using a hitch that has been specifically tested and confirmed to fit that model year. If you have a 2012 Fiesta I'd suggest # C11067 because it's...
