What Trailer Hitches are Available for the 1998 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Is this hitch available in a 2 receiver? This is for a 1998 Honda Odyssey. All my accessories are for 2" receivers. Thank you.

The only trailer hitch for the 1998 Honda Odyssey is the Curt # C11067 which is a Class I hitch with the 1-1/4 inch receiver. A 2-inch hitch is not available.

Using an adapter is not a feasible option.. When you use of an adapter, it reduces the trailer hitch tongue weight by 50 percent. The Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11067, that you have referenced, has a tongue weight capacity of 150 pounds. With a 1-1/4 to 2 inch adapter installed, it drops to 75 pounds.

Anything installed in the hitch will count towards the tongue weight. Bike racks with bikes load on them, cargo carriers and cargo, and trailer tongue weight would all have to be under 75 pounds when using an adapter. If this sounds like a feasible solution for you and you are certain that you will not exceed the reduced tongue weight capacity, then you can use Adapter # 80303. Otherwise, the better choice would be to get a light, class I bike rack like the Thule Camper # TH9058. You can carry up to 2 bikes on a class I hitch.
