Features to know about

Haul the Everyday Essentials: Class I Strength for Small Trailers and Cargo

When you just need to move a small camper, boat, or utility trailer, this Class I hitch is built for the job. It’s rated for a maximum 2,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 200 lbs tongue weight, giving you reliable strength for light towing. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening works with common ball mounts and accessories, making it a handy foundation for small-scale hauling or extra cargo on road trips.

Carry Bikes and Gear with Confidence: Secure Fit with Required Stabilizing Strap

For bike racks or cargo carriers, this hitch offers a sturdy connection that stays steady while you drive. When you’re hauling non-trailer loads, use a stabilizing strap such as part?#18050 to support the weight as recommended. Once secured, you’ve got a solid mount for your gear—perfect for heading out with bikes or adding a rear cargo tray without worrying about sway.

Straightforward Installation: Bolt-On Design with No Welding Required

This hitch is custom-fit and bolts directly into place using the included hardware kit. The precision, robotic-welded steel construction ensures everything lines up cleanly so you can install it right in the driveway with basic tools. There’s no welding involved and no fascia trimming required, so it’s a practical weekend project for anyone who likes to handle their own upgrades.

Built to Last: Fully Welded Steel with Gloss Black Powder Coat Finish

A gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat keeps the round-tube steel hitch looking sharp while fighting rust and wear. The heavy-duty welded design adds long-term durability and strength, ready for years of towing or carrying gear without losing its clean finish.

Thank you for expediting the shipping. My friend was able to install it in about 3 hours in his garage with a little help from me. Really looks nice and doesn't distract from the Mustang profile.

I was browsing websites looking for a hitch for my 2010 Ford Mustang when I came across etrailer.com and found exactly what I was looking for. I was impressed with the whole experience. And to make everything better, they even have very helpful installation videos with step by step installation guides. If I had to do it all over, I would buy through etrailer again in a heartbeat.

I used a floor jack and jack stands to support the vehicle in the air, Installed the hitch in the exact order that the video showed and every thing worked out great. I did not have a ratcheting 1/2" wrench so it slowed things down a bit, still changed it out in under 3 hrs. I have a 2010 Mustang GT convertible and the hitch looked just like the one in video.

Hitch worked great and helped me get through Hot Rod Drag Week 2025

by:

Worked out great! Great price!

by:

One word - Excellent! I picked this hitch receiver because I didn't need to cut anything and it used all the existing holes in the frame. I was very impressed with the fish lines for the bolts and how the muffler hanger was re-utilized. I will advise you that taking the muffler off or lowering it is the only way to install the hitch receiver. I was fortunate as the exhaust was not rusty and it came apart easily. One other thing to note is because you don't have to cut anything, the hitch is low. When putting a 2 place Thule rack on the back, it did scrape going up driveways. It was a small concession to not have to cut the valence like every other hitch mandates.

Going on almost 2 years and still awesome! Still looks brand new and handles the bike rack perfectly.

I have a 2010 Ford Mustang, and I bought this hitch so I could use a hitch-mounted bike rack. I absolutely love it. It was easy to install, and it's easy to access whenever I need it.

When the bike rack isn't attached, you can barely tell the hitch is there. In fact, most people wouldn't even notice it unless I pointed it out.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and 2-Bike Rack for a 2010 Ford Mustang
For your 2010 Ford Mustang, I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11048 which is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. As long as you do not have the GT/CS, California Special, Shelby GT, or GT500 edition then this hitch will work well for you. It is currently the only option we have for this vehicle. In order to maintain the lifetime warranty, you will need to use part # 18050 for all non-towing applications like a bike rack. Then for a bike rack, I...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2010 Ford Mustang For Rack
Hey Izzy, So there is only one hitch for your 2010 Ford Mustang, which means there isn't any type of alternate recommendation I can offer. For the '10 Mustang you'd have to go with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11048. This has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity though so you won't be able to carry your dirtbike on a rack with it; you'd have to look into a trailer to carry it. We don't carry dirt bike trailers, though to use a trailer you'll need a 4-way for the lights, and for your...

  • How Much of the Curt # C11048 Class I Receiver Will Be Visible When Installed on 2012 Ford Mustang
When the Curt # C11048 is installed, the receiver opening and a portion of the cross bars on either side will be visible. Take a look at the photo I edited for you, which should give you a good idea of what everything will look like once the hitch is installed. No fascia trimming will be required. • Can a 2010 Ford Mustang Tow a Trailer
I looked up the owners manual for a 2010 Ford Mustang and it states it is rated to two up to 1,000 lbs. There are no air shocks available though you should not need them; when we installed the Curt hitch on a 2010 Ford Mustang it was more than 11 inches from the ground to the top of the receiver which isn't super high but is definitely okay to tow with. We do have the hitch, wiring and rest of the set up you need in order to tow if you'd like. Here are the parts you'd need for your 2010...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2010 Ford Mustang
The Curt hitch part # C11048 is a confirmed fit for your 2010 Ford Mustang GT and will be a great hitch to use. For trailer wiring you then would want the part # C56088 which is a confirmed fit too. I attached install videos for both these products. For a ball mount you then would want the part # C45572.

  • Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for a 2011 Ford Mustang V6 Convertible
For your 2011 Ford Mustang Convertible, you can use Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11048. This trailer hitch comes with the required ball mount and you can use ball # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). If you plan on ever using the hitch for a non-trailer load like with a bike rack or cargo carrier, Curts warranty requirements state that for their class I and II hitches, you must use a stabilizing strap like # 18050. For trailer wiring, you will need to use the Tow Ready...

  • Recommendation for Carrying Two Motorcycles with a 2010 Ford Mustang
In order to carry the 2 motorcycles with a 2010 Ford Mustang, the best option would be to use a trailer. The Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer, # Y08106, is a roof rack on wheels and would not work for your application. First, if you do not already have a trailer hitch for the Mustang, I recommend the Curt Hitch, # C11048. It will fit all models, including the GT, but not a GT/CS, Shelby GT, or GT500. This hitch comes with the recommended ball mount which should be used in the rise position...

  • Will Curt Trailer Hitch # C11048 Fit 2011 Ford Mustang Convertible, Stabilizer Strap Recommendation
The Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11048, is designed to fit all models of the 2010 and 2011 Ford Mustang including the convertible model. According to Curts warranty, on all Curt class I and II trailer hitches, a stabilizing strap must be used on all non-trailer loads such as bike racks and cargo carriers. You can use Curt Stabilizer Strap # 18050, or another strap of your choosing as long as it supports the load. I have included a link to the numerous straps we carry below. There is no specific...

  • Ball Mount Compatibility with Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver on 2010 Ford Mustang
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11048 is compatible with the Curt Class II Drawbar - 5" Rise - 11-5/8" Long - 3,500 lbs # C45015 you referenced. You will also need a hitch ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter or # A-82 for a 2 inch diameter. For trailer wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118487. This will connect behind your tail lights and then draw power directly from your battery....
