by:
1992 Jeep Wrangler

Install was simple and straightforward, would reccomend this hitch to any jeep owner.

by:
1987 Jeep YJ

Powder coating looks good. Steel has some weight to it unlike others for the price. Overall pretty good product. Lets see if it can hand being on the farm.

by:

Speedy delivery - great product as advertised. Took me a bit longer than the 5minute youtube instruction video to install, though!

by:
1995 Jeep Wrangler

bought a trailer hitch for my 1995 Jeep. it fit perfectly and was delivered quickly. Very happy with the transaction

by:

Installation of the new hitch was very easy. The fit and finish are great with bolt holes aligning perfectly. Really liked the fact that the provided nuts grab to the frame so no need for a wrench as the four inner nuts are really in a tight spot and difficult to get to.

Jeep Wrangler

Your how to videos are great. It was very easy for us to figure out what we needed and how it would install on my son's 1993 Jeep. Hitch arrived and installed as expected. My son is smiling. Great customer service. Thank you!

by:

I can't wait till the weather break so I can test my new hitch. It installed very easy.

by:
1991 Jeep Wrangler

Quick shipping and install went right along with the instructions

by:

Installed with ease by my 13 year old son and I. The video instructions are awesome. Looks like a professional did the job....

by:
1992 Jeep Wrangler

hi , this is the third hitch i have installed in the past year or two

It would have been much easier of it had included those wire springs to pull the bolts thru...the back of the bumper is not as accessible as you might think

by:
1991 Jeep Wrangler

The hitch looked great and fit like a glove.etrail even shipped it earlier than I agreed , at no extra charge! I will do all my trailer needs with etrailer!! Thanks Tim Young

by:

Very easy to install once old bumpers were removed. Heavy duty, well made. Very fast shipping.

by:

one piece of advice is you should add folding clasps on the back of hitch to hide wires instead of zip ties. other than that easy insulation, looks awesome and was only a 45 minute job...highly recommend to any friend...

1987 Jeep Wrangler

I installed my new hitch on my 87 weangler today, pretty easy to
install, I even put the stock bumperetts back on. You know how people can't park very well so the bumperetts help protect your
vehicle from damage. I used the stock bolts on the top holes and the new longer bolts on the bottom holesbe sure to use the washers provided, it mad it easier to
install. I hope this will be helpfull.

by:

Very fast shipping and great product. Simple installation, once I was able to get my tow hooks off. Very solid hitch at a great price.

by:

Bumper hitch fits well and easy to install. this unit will allow me to use my bumper insert canoe carrier as well to pull a small trailer.
Service is great from Etrailer and installation vidio was a great help to install the hitch.
Thanks Etrailer.

Trailer hitch for husband's jeepMy husband recently purchased a 1993 Jeep as a weekend toy. It did not have a hitch for him to haulk his other toy (4-wheeler and trailer). After looking at several choices, I purchased a class III hitch and wiring system for him as a Christmas present. I received email confirming my order as well as another email letting me know that it had been shipped. The item arrived QUICKLY and was packaged securely. The installation was just as easy as described. Wiring details were a breeze. Excellent product and service from a company that I purchase from again!! (Husband is already looking for a cargo carrier as a Valentine's Day gift!)

1995 Jeep Wrangler

As indicated, the hitch went on 'without a hitch' other than my hands were too big to get the nuts started, at least I did not have to put a wrench on them once I did manage to get them on. It looks great and I am excited to now have the capability to tow my small utility trailer and perhaps get a bike rack for the hitch. Thanks etrailer, for the fast service and complete shipping.

1989 Jeep YJ

Fits perfectly and easy to install (especially with a 3" body lift).

I opted to put the original bumpers on with the hitch. Photo attached.

I recieved my trailer hitch today by ups. I unpacked it and was very pleased with the quality and the look of the hitch. I took my time, did'nt hurry, and within a hour the hitch was installed. The hitch fit perfectly, everything lined up great. I have large hands, so i used needle nose vise grips to reach in to install some of the nuts, i included a picture of them, worked great ! when i ordered the hitch, i made a goof, so i called and Janice cancelled that order and helped me do another, she was very friendly & helpful. thanks!!!!!

by:

As always etrailers was great! the product arrived on time and was as described. the installation video on the website made the install pretty easy. The video was lacking and the positioning of four of the bolts was almost impossible to get to. also be careful not to drop sockets and nuts in the gas tank skid plate (lost two nuts and socket). all and all it wasn't bad and probably had the job done in a little under an hour. i would suggest this product to anyone looking for a hitch for a yj. its not pretty but it does get the job done.

Good hitch, happy with it. However, the box it came in was beat to hell. Lousy packaging. Some scratches and marks on the hitch because of this. Wish I could provide a picture to show you.

  • Can a 350 Pound Motorcycle be Carried on the Back of a 1995 Jeep Wrangler
Curt trailer hitch # 13657 for your 1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) has a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds. The capacity only goes up to 400 pounds when towing a trailer and using weight distribution. So for hitch mounted accessories the hitch tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds it what you will need to go by. If the combined weight of the bike and carrier is over 350 pounds then you will not be able to carry the bike on the Jeep with a hitch mounted carrier. You would instead need to put...

  • Rear Bumper for 1993 Jeep YJ with Curt Hitch Already Installed
Based on how the Curt Class III Hitch Receiver # 13657 mounts to your 1993 Jeep YJ, we don't have a rear bumper available that can be installed with the hitch in place without some significant modifications. All of the aftermarket bumpers we have for the YJ though include their own integrated 2" receiver, such as with the Rampage # RA7648, so your best option may be to simply remove the existing hitch altogether if you are wanting to add a bumper like this. I have attached the complete...

  • Is it Possible to Tow With 1-5/8
The best solution for you is going to be simply replacing that hitch with a new one, the Curt # 13657, which is a fit for '92 YJ's with the exception of Renegade models. The Curt is a Class III hitch that has a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs, tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, and more importantly, a 2" receiver opening. To complete your towing setup you would want a 4-flat trailer connector # 118356, ball mount # C45030, 2" hitch ball # 63845 and pin and clip # C21500. I've added links...

  • Can Factory D-Rings Be Installed Over the Curt Hitch 13567 on a 1995 Jeep Wrangler
If you have a set of D-rings that are currently installed where the Curt Hitch part # 13657 would install on your 1995 Jeep Wrangler you could install them over the mounting bracket of the hitch as long as you got the appropriate length Grade 5 or higher bolt to replace the hitch's install bolts.

  • Recommend Hitch That Will Fit My 1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ
I do have a hitch that will fit your 1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ, but the item you selected, Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 75054 will not fit. For a Class III 2 Inch hitch like part # 75054, for your Jeep, you will need the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13657. The Draw-Tite hitch # 75054 that you selected is designed to fit 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee, and the 1984 Jeep Wagoneer Downsize. To complete your towing setup you will need the following items: Ball Mount, part # AMSC2 1-7/8 Inch Hitch...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 1995 Jeep Wrangler for Towing a Boat 2,200 lbs
The trailer hitch that I recommend for your 1995 Jeep Wrangler to tow a 2,200 lb boat is the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # 13657. This hitch has a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. We have installed this hitch on a 1996 Wrangler, so I attached the video for you to check out. The installation is very easy on this model. To complete your towing package, I also recommend picking up a tail light wiring harness. The Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, # C55356,...

For your 1989 Jeep YJ, the manufacturer Curt confirms the fit of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13657. Other sites may not know that the 1989 Wrangler and the 1989 YJ are the same vehicle. Not everyone knows the Jeep terms and models and we actually put both in our fit guide to mitigate confusion on fit. If you will be towing with this trailer hitch receiver, I also recommend the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with Circuit Tester # 18252. This kit will give...

  • Front Hitch Recommendation for a 1993 Jeep Wrangler
The front hitch part # 13657 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit your 1993 Jeep Wrangler. This hitch installs by utilizing existing holes in the vehicle frame. Since it does not require any bumper modification for installation there would be no reason your factory bumpers couldn't be retained. Several people who have installed this hitch have commented and said they were able to keep their bumpers like you mentioned. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

We do have a Class III, 2 inch trailer hitch that will fit your 1992 Jeep Wrangler but it is not # 13408. Instead you can use Curt trailer hitch # 13657. I have linked a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness and Other Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 1989 Jeep Wrangler Sahara
The wiring harness I recommend for your 1989 Jeep Wrangler Sahara is # 18252. There isn't a custom plug and play harness for your Jeep so you'll need to hardwire the 4-way in. This harness includes a circuit tester to help determine the wire functions on your Jeep and find the correct wires. If you don't already have a trailer hitch receiver on the Jeep the best option we carry is the Curt # 13657. It's a Class III hitch which is gives you a higher towing capacity as well as a larger...
