For your 1989 Jeep YJ, the manufacturer Curt confirms the fit of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13657. Other sites may not know that the 1989 Wrangler and the 1989 YJ are the same vehicle. Not everyone knows the Jeep terms and models and we actually put both in our fit guide to mitigate confusion on fit.
If you will be towing with this trailer hitch receiver, I also recommend the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with Circuit Tester # 18252. This kit will give you a circuit tester to ensure connection to the proper wires and quick splice connectors make it easy.
For a ball mount, I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. I've linked an article to further assist with choosing the correct fit for your application to allow level towing.
