I purchased this hitch from eTrailer a year ago. The product was exactly as stated. It fit my make and model car perfectly and the online videos available to install made it easy. I had to drop both of my tailpipes to mount it and it still only took an hour to install. I have since purchased many other products from eTrailer and they never disappoint. I bought this for my 2006 Hyundai Tuscon GL. I have the four cyl engine so I only have an exhaust port on the passenger side. I only needed to drop the exhaust off the hanger on that side. I put this hitch on in 30 degree weather, on the street in front of my house. Total time, including getting out a mat to put down so I wasn't laying on ice, until the time it was completely bolted on and the exhaust was back on the hanger was probably about 30-40 minutes. It was a breeze to put on. An extra set of hands would have been helpful perhaps to hold up one side while you mount the other, but I was able to get a bolt started on one side, then move to the other side. I think it honestly took me longer to get the factory tow hook off than it did to put this on. The hitch is much beefier than I thought it looked in the photos and on the website. The pre-drilled holes mounted up perfectly and the hitch is almost completely hidden behind the rear bumper (except for the reciever part, obviously), which is very nice. I would buy this product again and would recommend it to anyone in the market.
I also purchased the suggested wiring harness for my vehicle on this site. I thought it was expensive, but after it only taking about 15 minutes to install, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Great product, super-easy installation, and a good price. Well done etrailer... well done!
New trailer hitch assembly fit right in place after removing the muffler. Once the hitch was installed it was easy to reinstall the muffler. The hitch fit just like it was a factory installed unit, close to the back bumper and there were no clearance concerns after installation.
I didn't see it when I ordered, but it would have been nice to have a section for trailer wiring harnesses. I know every vehicle can't be identified for a plug and play harness, but at least offer an installation kit, whether it be a 5 wire to 4 conversion or just a straight 4 wire connector on check out.
Other than that small miniscule item, it was a great purchase, shipping was fast and the client showed up well after the shipping arrived.
The hitch is very well made, heavy duty and with a good protective finish on it. With the help of a friend, we easily worked it into place without lowering or removing the exhaust. This is a 2008 4 cyl Kia Sportage LX. It does not have the optional pre wired port to plug a trailer wire harness into. I chose the Hopkins # 48895 4 flat converter. It works with incandescent bulbs or leds. I mounted the module in the recess behind the left tail light. It has a 2.1 amp capacity. Suitable for vehicles with independent turn signal and brake lights.
Fits great on our 09 kia sportage. Pulls the dirtbike trailer very smoothly.
Install took a little while because I'm a perfectionist and wanted to zip tie the wires away from the exhaust. I needed a couple more zip ties than the wire kit came with. Drilled holes for the 4 pin plug mounting bracket (part # 18144) It looks great. Factory look and will keep the plug from dragging the ground.

I purchased the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III-2 inch. It is without exception the most heavy duty hitch in it's class that I have ever seen. Complete with all mounting hardware and installation instruction including an online video clip. I believe I made the best possible choice and got the biggest bang for my buck. To add to my satisfaction the Beefy Curt Hitch is MADE IN THE GOOD OLD USA!!! You can not ask for anything more but there is, the folks at etrailer were available for my questions from order to install. Thank You!
Though we did not install the hitch receiver because of physical limitations we were told that it was easy to install. It has been very easy for us to use when hitching our utility trailer or bike rack. We gladly recommend this hitch receiver to future buyers.
The hitch appears to be very heavy duty and good quality. Fallowing the instructions to install it was very easy. The hitch was a gift for my father and he is pretty good do it yourself handy man kind of guy. I myself am a highly skilled mechanic who works on industrial pressure for washers. So him and I were able to tackle the job of installing the hitch in about 45 minutes. I was really impressed with how it came with all the bolts and mounting hardware and there was no drilling needed.
One tip I will offer to anyone that is installing this hitch is yes it is the right hitch for your vehicle but might not appear so initially. Because if your vehicle has 1 tow hook instead of two in the rear some of the bolt holes are likely covered with stickers that match the color of the undercoating and are very hard to distinguish other than that little hang up it was a very easy install of a very good product.
My father plans to use it to tow a small utility trailer for doing yard work and sometimes his Harley Davidson motor cycle.
The trailer hitch was easy to install. The instructions were exactly correct on how to do the job. This only took about 35 minutes to do the complete job.
GREAT quality and GREAT trailer hitch. I watched your install video, everything fit perfectly. Last year I purchased a trailer hitch for my wife's KIA, and it was perfect. That is the reason I came back to purchase this one.

As advertised, in stock, fast delivery...what else can you ask for? I suggest that etrailer show how to hook up trailer lights for this hitch (sold separately of course). Good equipment!

Our trailer hitch is working great. We love it. Great price. Quality product. Just fantastic!
Hitch promptly and I got it installed in no time. Two comments, first I used the car jack to lift the hitch into position. If you don't have that as a suggestion for installation tips, you might consider it. Using the jack made a 1-person install easy since I didn't have to hold it while bolting. Second, I was sorry to see the ball mount was made in China -- I would have paid more for an American made one.

Using the jack is a stroke of genius! However, when I did it by myself, I had trouble with lateral movement to line up the holes. Thus, I took the jack down and lined up the holes first. Then, as I held the hitch in place, my son operated the jack. After it was in place, the job was very easy! There are no worries about the ball coming undone. I put the ball on the wrong bracket the longer one was too low and had to remove it. The lock washer is hard core! Metal was flying as I broke it loose there was no damage, just some pits where the washer engaged. Thus, I do not see it ever coming off by itself.I have not seen it in action yet, but everything looks robust. I will be pulling my boat tomorrow. I do not foresee any issues. I will re-comment if there are any.
This would be 5 stars for quality of construction.
I deducted a point because the installation is not simple. Regardless of how I held the new hitch it would not slide into position without scratching the lower part of the bumper. If you were to take out the muffler then you would have complete access to the mounting points. But short of doing that you will scratch your car. There is no way around it.

A year in and no issues whatsoever. The finish still looks good, no rust, works for my tiny trailer every time.
Ever thing went great, I just follow the video instructions. Fast delivery, received my hitch in less then 24hrs. Installed by myself in 90 min. Or less.

Looks great fits perfectly. I watched [online] installation video before starting. Easy enough to do by one person. Could use help holding but not necessary.

A little tuff to install. Had to do some drilling to open up the hole on driver side rear. Other than that, worked great and is a clean finish, low profile look I love. Wiring harness was plug and play easy. Had to add some bailing wire as zip ties do not last long in Arizona. No biggie! Great price too!
A nice fit, I had to remove the two bumper skin brackets furthest out on my 2009 Hyundai Tucson Touring to get things to line up proper. It was my first install and I did it solo (a set of jack stands will be helpful to hold in place as you line the receiver up) It took me over an hour to install, but it's solid! :)
The hitch was delivered 8/13/2019, installed same day.
Easy installation on my 2007 Hyundai Tuscon
Wanted a trailer hitch for when one is needed, just planning ahead.
This hitch fitted on my Hyundai Tucson 2005. It did fit but I had to struggle a little bit to make it fit because in couple of points the hitch body is in contact with the plastic bumper, if it was just 1/2” smaller in height it would have fitted perfectly and made the job easier.
Just follow the installation manual that comes with it, I recommend have a hammer and a piece of wood in case you need to hit it to force it to fit .
It’s been a year, the hitch has performed flawlessly. It installed easily, and fir great. I’m a mechanic, and have installed dozens of trailer hitches. This truly was made for the car. And the harness I also ordered fit perfectly too. I just wish I’d ordered the ball from you guys too.

It was easy to install, very sturdy and well made. We had no issues hooking up our mobility scooter carrier and ramp for my mom's scooter to the hitch. It works perfect.
