Features to know about

Tackle Every Hauling Job: Class III Strength with 2" Receiver

This hitch gives you the muscle to handle everyday towing and gear hauling. With a Class III rating, it’s built to pull up to 4,000 lbs gross trailer weight or 6,000 lbs when used with weight distribution. The hitch supports 400 lbs of tongue weight, and 600 lbs when you’re using weight distribution. The 2" x 2" receiver fits the most common ball mounts, bike racks, and cargo carriers, so you can swap out accessories without adapters or special hardware.

Built to Last: Fully Welded Steel with Protective Powder Coat

The all-steel, fully welded construction maximizes strength and keeps flex to a minimum. A gloss black powder coat finish is layered over a protective base coat, giving superior rust and corrosion resistance for long-term use in all weather. Whether you’re towing a small trailer or carrying heavy gear, this tough finish helps the hitch look good and hold up through years of use.

Straightforward Installation: Bolt-On Design with Included Hardware

You don’t need to weld or drill into your vehicle’s frame to get this hitch installed. The bolt-on design lines up with existing mounting points for a secure fit. It comes complete with a full hardware kit and step-by-step instructions so you can get the job done in your driveway using basic tools. Once it’s torqued down, the round-tube style gives a clean, factory-like appearance under the bumper.

Ready for Accessories: Secure Connection for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers

The 2" receiver opening makes it simple to add whatever gear setup you need for work or play. Hook up a cargo carrier for extra storage space or mount your favorite bike rack for weekend trips. The sturdy Class III build keeps everything stable on the road so you can load up confidently and hit the highway without worrying about wobble or flex.

Awesome product and the video links were a extreme help. Fit and finish are great, and the hitch appears to be very rugged. Also got the wiring kit for the car and it was a breeze to install. Anyone with any mechanical ability can install this.

by:

I've installed 3 hitches and this on my 2005 Xterra was by far the easiest. It looks great and has worked fine so far.

Still working great.

by:

Very simple install, plug and play electrical connections, very simple to use and very good quality product. Very happy it was put on in PA on Friday afternoon and hauled a trailer to GA Saturday morning. Had 0 issues. Definitely a 5 star rating

by:

Excellent product! Went together as described on the youtube video. Took me about an hour. Make sure to use a torque wrench and tighten to specs.

by:

Shipping was fast and product was very well packaged. Installation was very straight forward. It says that the muffler was needed to be moved or removed but I did not have to in my case. I just went under and placed and aligned the hitch and bolted it in place. I was done in less than 30min. Thanks again etrailer

by:

Super Easy to install. Lowering the spare tire and loosening the exhaust hanger made the hitch go right in. I was more impressed with the customer service of eTrailer.com. I wish all internet buying was this easy. I never had to investigate where my order was because I was sent instant notifications when the order was received, and when the order was shipped, and a follow up email after I received the hitch.

by:

Product arrived much sooner than expected in great condition. Kudos for etrailer.com for the swift shipping. Installation was as described in the included instructions and the PDF provided on-line. With one person helping, we got it installed in less than an hour. Looks great with the color of the Xterra.

by:

It took me about two hours to install this hitch including wiring. The instructional video on the website covers everything you need to know to get the job done with a minimum of stress. (You'll need some half inch tools and a torque wrench.) I had a friend help me get the hitch into position to bolt in. Doing that alone is probably possible but I wouldn't want to do it, it's a snug fit. All in all my experience with etrailer.com was great. Shipping was quick and free and the product was top notch.

by:

This is my second Curt hitch. Installation is pretty easy with 2 people. With a little manipulation, it can be installed without dropping the exhaust. I was even able to make the mounting box work for a clean finish with a couple custom drilled holes. I would give it 5 stars but there was a bolt missing, so I did have to reuse one of the factory bolts.

by:

I recently purchased a receiver hitch for my 2008 Nissan Xterra from you. I was amazed how easily the receiver was to install. Instructions were easy to comprehend as well. Thanks for carrying products relevant to your customer's needs and having products that work right. I have attached some pics from the finished install. I will be ordering accessories as I need them from your company as you have always been prompt, thorough and very courteous in all of your correspondence.

by:

The item was shipped and delivered quickly. I did the installation with one helper and it went well. The fit was fine, it was just a little tricky to get it into place. It is a snug fit and all the mounting holes lined up correctly. I did not modify the hitch as some other reviewers said they did. My installation took about 2 - 3 hours. Be sure you have the proper tools and torque wrench.

by:

Super easy to install on our '12 Xterra; it bolts right in and all of the hardware was included. We use it for a bike rack, and I have no complaints. I also like the small step. It helps me get to the roof box and the kids into the back.

by:

Hitch is well made and finished, and the order/status/delivery was exceptional. However, the hole drilled for the 5/8 retaining pin is too far back to accept my current ball/hitch

by:

Only took a couple hours to install by myself on my 2007 Nissan Xterra, including wiring etc. I added grip tape to the flat area on top of the Hitch opening so that it's safer to use as a step in rainy or muddy conditions.
The installation video is a big help but it slightly conflicts with the paper instructions that come with the package. The video showed a flat washer being added in between the mounting bracket and truck frame at the smaller (M12) bolt hole. However, no flat washer is included in the kit nor is one required by the instructions for that bolt. The conical washer is used under the bolt head like normal, do not put it between the bracket and frame!

After foolishly selling my OEM Nissan receiver hitch I was in the market for another quality part. I poked around the web and saw Curt had great reviews, and I had seen the name over the years. I read a bunch of the reviews here and decided that this was going to be my replacement receiver. Shipping was free, and quick. The box arrived in great condition as did the receiver.

Install was a breeze, I had removed my OEM one months prior to installing this so the bumper bolts weren't difficult to remove at all. However, if you haven't removed your bumper bolts I HIGHLY recommend spraying them with some form of penetrating lubricant to help break them free. A breaker bar or air impact gun might be useful as well. Total install time was under 30 minutes. I didn't have to remove my exhaust hangers or bumper, just carefully slid the passenger side up and over the exhaust. I did place a t-shirt over the exhaust pipe to prevent scratching the brand new powder coat of the receiver. The bolts provided worked perfectly and the fitment of everything was great when all was said and done.

I did add some non-slip grip tape strips on the step portion of the receiver to prevent a fall when standing on it when wet. Check out my pictures to see how I applied them.

This was my third order from etrailer over the years and their level of customer service is top notch, which is why I keep coming back!

by:

Trailer hitch was easy to install. Works great for the two uses I had: pulling a lightweight trailer and receiver hitch rack and bike carrier. Only complaint with the Curt manufactured hitch is that the receiver shaft is too short to allow room for the locking pin to fit (as you see in the pic).
So far so good.

by:

Worked great. See the bike rack attached to it! My mechanic put it on and said it was the easiest hitch he has ever put on! Great price. Worked like a charm.

Thanks for your follow up. Unfortunately I had mechanical issues with my SUV and no longer have it. For as long as I had it the hitch worked well and I had no problems.

by:

Etrailer makes buying and installing a hitch super simple and easy for anybody.

by:

I had the hitch for about a year now. The assembly process was easy and straight forward, just remember to loosen the exhaust brackets as instructed. I feel that the powder coating is not top quality as I already have lots of rust spots on it. I may need to take it out and send it for re-powder coating at a local shop.

The step on top is sometimes useful but most of the time annoying because you can't reach underneath it to unlock the pin.

It's not an expensive tool but it has it's disadvantages

I have used it constantly to tow a boat about 2500lb and sometimes up to 3000 lb with stuff in the boat. No drama at all as it performs flawlessly. I have grown to like the step more as I put stuff on the roof of the vehicle. Maybe in a year or so it will need another powder coating but good product never the less

by:

Hard to believe you can get such a heavy-duty piece of equipment for such a reasonable price. I installed it on my 2013 Xterra mainly to allow for a bike rack but also to haul trailered small equipment. The hitch fits perfectly and bolts up as directed and is essentially "easy" to install although I add two comments to consider. 1) At least in my vehicle, undoing the rear exhaust mounts didn't do much since there is little give between the tail pipe and the muffler. I don't think you really have to do that. 2) Get a buddy to help get the hitch in place. The fit is perfect so both ends have to go in together. Overall - excellent product!

Perfect!

The trailer hitch installed nicely on my 2015 Xterra. The wiring (that I also purchased from e-trailer) was pretty straightforward and easy to install. Ditto for the electronic brakes I added. The only issues I encountered were (1) the electronic brake socket had no bracket, so I had to fabricate one from a piece of aluminum to bolt under my bumper, and (2) the little step above the 2" receiver hitch on the Curt product was smooth and slick; I added a $2 adhesive-backed rubber diamond-tread that I cut to shape, and it solved the problem. It looks like OEM equipment. I'm very pleased.

The hitch is as strong, rugged, and good looking as I am. Well. ok, its as strong, rugged, and good looking as the day I installed it. Its used regularly to haul a 3,000lb trailer with a 354lb tongue weight. No issues, no problems good stuff!

by:

I ordered this for my 2013 Nissan Xterra S. This product shipped to my address quickly and undamaged! The instructions for installation were easy to follow and clearly indicated what tools were necessary to get the job done right. Not only this, but I watched a YouTube video to confirm the proper installation of this on my 2013 Nissan Xterra S.

Installation was possible by myself, but to make things easier I had someone help hold one side of the hitch receiver so I could quickly lock the bolts into place. I did end up needing to lower the muffler and completely detach the spare tire to install this. Total time was about an hour without using any power tools.

The product was a PERFECT FIT and looks great!! Haven't used it to tow anything yet and am happy it doesn't stick out too far. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable hitch receiver that is made of quality materials and looks "natural" for their vehicle. If I had to, I would but this all over again.

The hitch is in great condition after a years worth of use. I have only used it to attach a hitch cargo carrier which I use when I drove on the beach all last summer. After a summers worth of weekends driving on the beach, the hitch has stood up to sea salt and doesnt show any signs of erosion or major wear

I totally bought from etrailer because of all the "How To Install" videos. I bought hitch #13514 and light kit #118525 both from etrailer. Install could be a one-person job, but I would recommend two-person. Installed hitch and light kit in about an hour with two-people. After install I added a self-adhesive Diamond designed rubber matt on the hitch step, this avoided any foot slips. I bought the rubber matt from Harbor Freight. I think etailer should make this an enhancement to the hitch. I also used velcro straps to keep wiring tucked away until needed, also purchased from Harbor Frieght. Both hitch and light kit are very well made, not cheaply made. I am very satisfied with the product.

  • My Trailer Hitch Does Not Appear To Fit Due To The Bracket Being Bent
I will start by saying the Curt # 13514 hitch is a fit for your 2007 Nissan Xterra, so you definitely have the correct part. As to the flange not sitting flush like it should, this is actually a fairly common occurrence with hitches. The frame brackets on hitches are a mild steel so they can flex with the frame of your vehicle when it twists over bumpy terrain. This is intentional as if it was too hard a steel, it would end up breaking. So all you need to do is bend it back into place. There...

Appreciate the photo of your 2015 Nissan Xterra (not to mention the view), and while there is a way for you to carry cargo along with a kayak, it isn't possible to add both on your factory roof rack because the bars simply aren't wide enough. Your Xterra has 32 inches of crossbar space and there isn't a roof bag or cargo box narrow enough to go with a kayak carrier.
