Question:
I want to install a Curt Trailer hitch on a 2014 Nissan Xterra. There are no 4-pin or 7-pin wires on the vehicle. Is it possible to wire for both? Which wiring kit would do that? Do I need some other controller part?? We are towing a raft or a small popup camper not a larger trailer.

To complete the towing setup on your 2014 Nissan Xterra with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13514 you can use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118266 which will give you the 7-Way you are wanting.
For the 7-Way and 4-Pole option I recommend going using the Hopkins Replacement Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors # 30955 which will plug into the US Car Connector on the Tekonsha wiring that I just mentioned. This will give you a clean look that is more secure than splicing in a 4-Pole like part # HM48030.
If the trailer that you will be towing has brakes then you will want to install a brake controller as well. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is one of our most popular brake controllers due to how easy it is to install and use. All you will need to connect this to the wiring on your Xterra is the Adapter # 3050-P. The adapter will plug into your brake controller and also into a connector that is under your driver's side dash.
I have attached some review videos that you can check out.
