Start your engine easier and warm your cab faster in cold weather with this frost-plug-style engine block heater. Heating your engine coolant keeps it from thickening and freezing, resulting in more reliable start-ups and smoother operation altogether. It also lessens the workload and extends the life of your vehicle's battery. And because starting your engine when it's warm creates less condensation in the engine block than starting it when it's cold, your engine will get better initial fuel vaporization, which causes fewer emissions and less pollution.
This frost-plug heater replaces the core plug in your engine block. The power cord on the heater is removable so that you won't need to buy a whole new heater if the cord gets damaged. The cord can be routed through your grille for easy access to a 120-volt outlet or extension cord. If needed, a longer or shorter cord (sold separately) can be purchased to better fit your application. Make sure the heating element is fully submerged in the coolant before plugging it in.

Today we're going to take a look at the Kats Heaters, 120 volt, 400 watt freeze plug style custom engine block heater. Now this freeze plug heater will replace the freeze plug in your engine block and it submerges in the coolant to help keep your engine fluids from thickening. Does ensure smoother startups, faster heating and defrosting of your cab.Basically this will screw into the freeze plug, so it replace the freeze plug or the core plug in your engine block and it emerges in the coolant. It warms the engine fluid, increase lubrication performance, keeps the fluid from thickening, protects against damage in cold weather. It'll preheat the engine to reduce condensation in the engine block, and it emits less pollution and fewer gas emissions. It does include this removable power cord. The cord length is about six feet.
Basically, you can see if you unscrew that, you can unplug it from the element, and then there's your cord. And then when you go to install it, just line up your plug. Take your nut, go ahead and tighten it down. And then you can route this cord through your grill and then plug it into a standard 120 volt AC outlet. It is constructed of a durable copper and it is custom fit for your vehicle. This is CSA-approved and it is made in the USA.
The heating element length is going to be right at one and three quarter inches. We've mentioned the cord length is six feet. Wattage on this is 400 Watts. Amperage is 3.3 amps.Couple notes on this. Heaters do not use this heater with 100% antifreeze solution, and you do not want to start your engine with the heater plugged in, but that should do it for the review on the Kats heaters, 120 volt, 400 watt freeze plug, stout custom engine block heater..

Glad we could help, Chad! Let us know if there is anything else you need! ^___^ Out of curiosity, where are you located? We get orders for these fairly often, but it's always something I want to ask people.

Still working, had purchased the Amazon knockoff the two years prior and each one only lasted a year. Bought the Kats and it’s still working this year.

It was simple to install once I figured out how to drain the coolant from my 2016 Ford Edge. Had to remove a few vacuum lines in order to get my arm into the correct angle to thread it into the block. Works great. Far better than the $400 that Ford parts wanted for their kit.

Hey Russell. Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. We don't have a way to track these types of applications so I know it will be helpful to someone else along the way!
