Powerful, Portable Generators

e2000 outlets

These e2000 etrailer inverter generators combine to provide 3,800 watts of clean AC power to get you up and running whether you're at the campsite, worksite, or tailgate party. Each powerful generator comes with (1) 120V outlet for powering household appliances, tools, and electronic devices. They each feature (1) 120V L5-30R twist-lock outlet for large appliances and motorized tools with greater electrical demands. Lastly, they each include (1) 5V USB outlet to charge cell phones, tablets, and other portable electronics. Each generator also has outlet covers to help keep out moisture and debris.

e2000 RV adapter

As an added convenience, each e2000 also includes a TT-30R adapter that lets you plug your RV into the generator's 120V 30-amp L5-30R twist-lock outlet. This ensures you'll have access to electricity no matter where you take your RV or if there's a power outage at the campground.

e2000 carry handle in use

Finally, each compact unit weighs only 45 lbs and has a built-in ergonomic handle, making them easy to take with you no matter where you go.

Built-in Parallel Ability

e2000 parallel

Each e2000 comes equipped with parallel ability that lets you easily pair them with each other to produce 3,800 watts of power. By increasing the power output, you can run equipment with higher electrical demands. Because the parallel ability is built-in, you don't have to purchase a separate kit and remember to bring it with you.

e2000 parallel ports

The included parallel connection cables simply plug into the corresponding ports on each generator's control panel.

Safe for Sensitive Electronic Devices

e2000 safe for cell phones

Electronic devices are made with delicate circuitry that requires steady, controlled electrical current. The current produced by standard generators, however, is uncontrolled, allowing extreme fluctuations in power. These fluctuations can damage your sensitive electronic devices. These generators, on the other hand, have built-in inverters that control the voltage that is produced. This important feature ensures each generator is safe to use with your electronic equipment such as cell phones, computers, and medical devices.

Easy-Start Engine

Each generator features a recoil handle that provides easy manual startup. They use standard unleaded gas, meaning there is no need to mix gas and oil.

Before starting your generator, ensure nothing is connected to the outlets. Start your generator and let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up and stabilize. Once the generator is up and running, follow the recommended order of operation: connect the device with the highest starting watts first, like your air conditioner or refrigerator, then work your way down to the device with the lowest starting watts. By connecting devices in this order, you'll ensure the generator has enough power to start high-wattage loads.

Economy Mode Provides Fuel Efficiency

e2000 eco mode

With the flip of a switch, you can activate each generator's economy mode feature. This mode adjusts engine speed to match the power demands of your connected devices. When using low-draw devices like tablets, cell phones, televisions, and radios, the engine runs more efficiently to save fuel and keeps noise to a minimum. The engine only runs at normal speed when additional power is needed. For example, when using a power tool, the engine will only speed up when the device is actively being used. This mode is not only kinder to your pocketbook and your ears, it's also easier on the environment.

Safety Features

e2000 safety lights

Each generator comes with a number of safety features to protect you, the environment, and the generators. The control panel contains 2 warning lights that indicate low oil and overloading. When the engine is low on oil, it will automatically shut down to prevent damage. If an overload is detected, either by exceeding the generator's limits or a power surge, the circuit breaker will stop supplying power to the connected devices. The digital voltage regulator assists in minimizing voltage fluctuations which helps to maintain a steady flow of electricity. Also, a built-in spark arrestor helps prevent any sparking that might burn someone or start a fire. This arrestor has been certified by the USDA Forest Service.

Choosing a Generator

When choosing a generator, you need to match the generator's starting and running output with the electrical demands of the equipment you want to operate.

Power Demands

Starting (surge) wattage is the power a device requires at startup. Running (rated) wattage is the power needed to keep the device running. A large appliance with an electric motor such as a furnace, refrigerator, air conditioner, or washing machine may require 2 to 3 times more starting wattage than running wattage.

It is always best to start your generator with no load connected, then add each device one at a time. Additionally, a good practice to consider is connecting your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. As you connect and start devices, your available wattage decreases. This order of operation allows you to start devices with the highest power demands when there is more power available.

Will This Generator Run My RV Air Conditioner?

At etrailer, we perform numerous tests on generators that put them through real-world experience. An extensive part of this testing includes starting and running RV air conditioners. The following table will help you decide if these inverter generators have enough power to handle this critical function in your RV.

* The starting wattage on air conditioners can vary greatly depending on several factors, including the assistance of built-in capacitors and cold starts. Because of this, we can't list a standard starting wattage as every application can be different.

Determining Your Power Needs

The following section provides calculations for wattage estimates. This will give you an overall picture of your potential power usage and help you decide on the generator that is right for you.

Industry Standard Calculation

The Industry Standard Calculation is a quick and easy way to determine your required wattage. It may provide some padding in your wattage requirements, which could give you more power than you actually need, but you shouldn't have to worry about not having enough power. The following steps will help you quickly calculate the correct size generator to meet your application.

As stated earlier, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation requires this approach to work. However, using this calculation removes the worry of connecting devices in a certain order.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for the devices that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List all of your starting watts and running watts as seen in Table 1 below.

Table 1

Example DevicesStarting WattsRunning Watts
Air compressor2,0001,000
Refrigerator1,600800
Microwave01,000
Blender850400

2. To find the total starting watts required, add the starting watts for the device with the highest value to the running watts of all the other devices from Table 1.

2,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 4,200 total starting watts

3. To find the total running watts, add all of the running watts together from Table 1.

1,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 3,200 total running watts

To run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 4,200 starting watts and 3,200 running watts.

Advanced, Precise Calculation

While the method for calculating your power needs outlined above will work, it isn't the most precise. If you aren't afraid of doing a little more math, you can use the Advanced, Precise Calculation to get a more accurate idea of how much power you will need and potentially save yourself some money. Because the calculation above pads in enough power to ensure you can start your devices in any order, it may point you to a bigger and more expensive generator than you need. However, by following the more regimented, order-of-operations calculation below, you'll get a much more precise idea of how much power you need, which could in turn point you to a smaller and less expensive generator.

Again, you should always start your generator without any load, and then connect each device one at a time. The following calculation also requires that you start your devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts. When you connect devices in this order, you can start high demand devices when there is more power available.

1. Determine the starting watts and running watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator.

a. Find the starting (surge) watts and running (rated) watts for each device that you want to plug into the generator. Look for a sticker or plate on each device or check your owner's manuals.

b. If your device or manual only shows amps and volts, watts can also be determined through a simple formula. (Amps x Volts = Watts)

c. List out these devices from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts as seen in Table 2 below.

Table 2

Example DevicesStarting WattsRunning Watts
Air compressor2,0001,000
Refrigerator1,600800
Microwave01,000
Blender850400

2. To find the total running watts, add all of the running watts together from Table 2.

1,000 + 800 + 1,000 + 400 = 3,200 total running watts

3. In Table 3, shown below, the values from Table 2 are used to calculate the highest total starting watts required as devices are connected and running. This number represents the highest power requirement you will encounter as you connect all of your devices to the generator. To find this, add the starting watts of each new device you connect to the combined running watts of all connected devices. The highest of these numbers will be the total starting watts required. And again, remember to always connect devices in order from highest starting watts to lowest starting watts.

Table 3

DeviceStarting WattsRunning Watts of All Connected DevicesTotal Starting Watts Required
1. Air compressor2,000 +0 (nothing connected)= 2,000
2. Refrigerator1,600 +1,000 (air compressor)= 2,600
3. Microwave1,000* +1,800 (air compressor + refrigerator)= 2,800
4. Blender850 +2,800 (air compressor + refrigerator + microwave)= 3,650

* Even though the microwave does not have starting watts listed, you have to account for the power needed to actually run it.

850 + 2,800 = 3,650 highest total starting watts required

In order to run all of these devices simultaneously, you would require a generator with at least 3,650 starting watts and 3,200 running watts.

Received the generators today and within 30 minutes I had both of them unpacked and up and running. They work great and are very quiet compared to other generators I have had. These will be perfect for my RV trailer in the backwoods. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a small quiet generator or a pair of them. Great Value and really quick shipment.

Comments
Used them in the rocky mountains during November hunt. They worked great at 10,000 feet and 15 degrees F plenty of power for my RV. Still glad I purchased them, looking forward to many years of use!

IO bought these to replace 1 larger generator. They are light and easy to load/unload. Easy to start and work fine. My only issue is that the parallel cables are flimsy and the connectors come off easily (2 of the 4 so far with no idea when, why, or how).

Wow, what can I say?.. Amazing customer service, and fastest shipping ever!... Allison went out of her way to resolve my issues, and as a result I am now going out of MY way to find anything else I can add to my motorhome just so I can order from them again!... If their generators are as good quality as their sales staff even better. Havent fired them up yet, as waiting on high altitude jets for them, which etrailer got shipped separately from the manufacturer at no extra charge, two thumbs up!...

Arrived with no damage and all parts were in the box.

One of the two generators in this kit did not have an air filter element in it. Glad I took the air filter cover off and checked before running it. Seems like good quality product. Parallel wires are very small diameter. I will have to check parallel operations to know if that feature works as advertised. Each of the two generators start easy, run quiet, and support 1600 watts with ease.

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

Too many Spring storms were leaving us in the dark. Most were at night, so my larger generator would be too noisy to run. I called etrailor on Monday and the inverter arrived on Wednesday. The inverter generator arrived in good condition and I was able to have it up and running in a short time. It is very quiet and works well. I will be using it to power the refrigerator and furnace. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the service from etrailor.

Comments
This product has worked well. No power outages since getting this. My neighbors are impressed with how quiet it operates. Its very easy to move around, its easier than stringing out extension cords when doing yard work.

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

So far this has been a great generator. It's easy to start and use. The price was great compared to other models. I use it to recharge my camper battery and all other electronics like my laptop, cell phones and chainsaw battery. I'll also be buying a small microwave to pop popcorn and heat food when camping. And, it's a comfort knowing that if the power goes off at my house, I'm not totally without power. I also liked being able to look at the product on-line at etrailer because they showed me what I could expect to power with their generator and what I couldn't. Like actually showing me how many watts a refrigerator or AC unit uses. I'm thinking of ordering another one to be able to pair with my current generator. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

Already had the 3200 etrailer inverter/generator for my RV, but it had really hard time starting my 15000btu AC unit. I went ahead and purchased the 2000 etrailer inverter and the Parrellel Pairing Kit. They worked great. Run both in eco mode. Tested on my RV for about 2 hours. No problem. Can't wait to do some boondocking again. Really like etrailer products and Customer Service.

Well-built and runs smooth. The 30-amp outlet was a must-have. Powers my travel trailer's with no issues. A mechanical fuel level gauge or sight gauge would be the only thing to change.

Shipment was fast. Was easy to follow startup instructions. It started up very easily, and to my surprise, it was very quiet. I couldn’t hear it running from inside my house. I haven’t put it to the test yet,( my travel trailer) can’t wait to see how it performs.

Comments
Still starts and runs like it was new.

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

My etrailer 2000 watt inverter generator came thru fine--no damage to package. Put in the oil provided and filled the tank with non-ethanol gas--even though the manual says it OK to use 10% ethanol. Unit started on 5th pull and is really quiet. I plugged the generator into my travel trailer here in my driveway and it surprisingly started and ran my 8000 BTU A/C unit. Looks like a good solid machine. I'm very happy with my purchase. The only thing I don't like about the unit is that you have to take the side cover off every time you want to check the oil level---which is five screws---kind of a nuisance.

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

I use this around the yard for power tools. I use it in conjunction with another company's 2000/1600W inverter generator to power my travel trailer. The two generators in parallel will start and run the air conditioner and microwave. I really like the 30 amp outlet for plugging in the travel trailer. This generator is noticeably quieter then the other company's similar sized unit. The only downside I have seen is the it needs a bigger fuel tank.

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

Purchased this unit to take with us on our junkets out west with our RV. Unpacked it yesterday, filled with the provided oil and fueled with non-ethanol and it started with the first pull! The reason for purchase was because I had previously purchased the 3200 watt unit and have been extremely satisfied with it. After a break in period with conventional oil I will switch to full synthetic 5-30 just I have with the 3200 watt unit. Highly recommend both units!

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

Initially, I'm giving this generator a 4 star for a couple reasons; one the product was manufactured in April 2018 and the other is it doesn't have an hour meter built in. Obviously, 2 year old stock should be Coronavirus free but I'm not crazy about stuff that has just been sitting around that long and paying standard rates. The hour meter is just as much my fault for not picking up on its absence prior to purchase but the 3200w version I already owned has one and just sort of Assumed.

Review from a similar e2000 Portable Inverter Generator in Generators

I am 3 1/2 hours into the five hour break in for this generator. So far it has been a near perfect experience. It has started every time on either the first or second pull. I am running it on low load during the break in, but it has handled any load changes quite well. My only complaint is that one of the chassis attachment bolts fell out during the first one hour run. I was even able to get a small camper AC unit running as an experiment. It’s a great deal for the price, and free shipping was a bonus.

Very fast shipping!! Great product!!! Excellent pricing!! Told a close friend about this and he was so impressed he ordered two of this model. I will be ordering another to run together. Great follow up from staff and I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase. This solved my issues of having to lug around a huge open frame generator for my travel trailer.

Found that the screw driver was just a tad under sized and slipped on one extra tight screw on the engine access panel; but did what it needed to do. I am just being picky on that. Added oil and gas. Started with no issues. Connected a small roaster oven and fan to give it load and operated as advertised. Charging batteries while braking it in. So far I am satisfied with the quality & price; will see how it holds up over the next year.

Excellent product. Super easy to start and runs quietly. I’m not sure it’s as quiet as a Honda but, the point is I’m not sure. At $600 bucks cheaper that’s a pretty good deal. Had no issues starting in maintaining my Advent Air ACM 135 rooftop air conditioner.

  • Do I Need To Purchase A Kit To Use A 30 amp Connection With The eTrailer 3,800-Watt Generators?
Here are the outlets you will get with our generator # 333-0001-2: (1) 120V 20-amp (1) 120V 30-amp L5-30R (1) 5V 2.1-amp USB We provide a TT-30R adapter so you will not have to purchase the adapter, but if you do not have a power chord for the 30 amp connection, you will need to grab one. This one is 25' long so you can keep your generators far away from whatever your powering to keep the noise down. I've included a couple videos if you would like to learn more!

  • A-iPower 3800 Watt Generator # 289-SUA2000i-2 -VS- etrailer # 333-0001-2
I cannot find any significant difference in size, power output, or functionality. Past customers rate both units 5-Star. If the price was equal I would rather have a more visable red product over a black product as I worry about leaving things at the campsite. Otherwise I would pick the unit that is lower priced.

  • Are High Altitude Carburetor Jets Inlcuded With etrailer Brand 333-0001-2 Generator/Inverter
At elevations below 3000 feet, you wouldn't need to re-jet the carburetor. Once you get higher in elevation than that, you'll want to re-jet the carburetor. We offer two high altitude jet kits, part # 333-317717005 for 3000-6000 feet or # 333-317717006 for elevations from 6000-8000 feet. The higher-altitude jet kits aren't included with the generator kit, they're sold as a separate item. • Is etrailer Generator Set 333-0001-2 the Same as Generator part number 333-0001
There is no difference between the generators that come with the # 333-0001-2 and the individual generator # 333-0001. If your plan was to buy two the most cost-effective way (currently) is to buy two of the # 333-0001 and you'd be set. The parallel wiring is included as well.

  • Is There a Storage Cover for the 3800-Watt Portable Generator
I may have a solution for you to cover the 3,800-Watt Portable RV Inverter Generators - 3,000 Running Watts - Gas - Manual Start # 333-0001-2, but there is not a cover specifically designed for this model. However, you can use the Storage Cover for etrailer 4,500-Watt Generator - Weather Resistant # 333-0008 and it will do a fine job- it's just a little bit larger than the 3800-Watt generator, so there will be some excess. Compared to something like the 3,800-Watt Portable RV Inverter Generators - 3,000 Running Watts - Gas - Manual Start # 333-0001-2, you're going to find them fairly similar since the # 333-0001-2 gives off the same 58 dB of noise at 25' away with 1/4 load. • Which etrailer.com Generators Can be Used with Parallel Kits and Why
We have generators that can be used with parallel kits to roughly double the amperage rating but the only styles that can do this are the inverter style generators which produce cleaner power. The # 333-0005 does not have an inverter so it can't be ran in parallel. The parallel generator kits we offer are part # 333-0001-2 with an output of 3,000 running watts, # 333-0003-2-0007 which have an output of 5,500 running watts, and # 333-0001-0002 which has an output of 4,275 running watts.
